Re: 3 new bowl games? Myrte Beach may be one.

More teams will be in bowl games than the NCAA Basketball Tourney. Only 73 teams had winning records last year (including Non-Bowl eligible teams). 11 teams would have had at best a .500 record. Until all bowl games are ranked by tier, (Champion, Major, Mid-Major, Minor) all but the championship bow...

Re: Fox extended to 2021

It has taken longer to correct the dumpster fire our Men's basketball program was that expected but things certainly appear to be improving. Congrats to Coach Fox and hopefully better days are ahead. First thing you have to do is stop throwing fuel on the fire to put it out. We are still having pla...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

"We are winning and respectable now" . Factually you will have to redefine "winning" , which I believe requires more wins than losses. Neither overall ,nor in conference play , cumulatively or in any single season, have we achieved "winning".And our attendance numbers clearly reveals we aren't winni...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

His record is hurting recruiting more that his contract. Both W/L and Players who have left the team that he recruited. Sorry but this is not a correct statement. Not saying that record, attendance, atmosphere, etc, haven't lost us recruits in past classes and I've said so many times. These kids ha...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

How can you give a guy with a 45-78 record an extension? The strong end of the season finish pushed back some termination talks on here, but you can't give an extension to someone that has nothing to show. Not giving him an extension is cutting off your nose to spite your face. We have already hear...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

On a quick aside, anyone know of confirmed/rumored OOC games for next season (the Charleston tournament aside)? I thought our schedule this past season was one of our better ones. I'd hope we continue to try and schedule Davidson, JMU, CofC, when possible. The Davidson game a couple seasons ago was...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

My concern is that our staff is still recruiting for 18-19 and is well into their recruiting for that critical 19-20 class with more than the usual number of hardships. May the luck of the Irish be with them! What hardships? There will be seven seniors (four scholarship players) next season, so in ...

Re: App vs Davidson

The Davidson of November was a much different team than the one post-January. The team that came to Boone wasn't a good shooting team and was scared to drive into the paint. The one we just saw was fearless and had leadership. Those Davidson coaches know how to develop players. . . Hey, wait a tick...

Re: Fan Involvment at Basketball Games

I'm all for ditching the Yosef stage if they allow beer sales elsewhere. A) Can't state regs B) Just what we need, drunk students in a closed space with families. C) Soused stations are located across the street from the HCC A) I know, but one can hope. B) Well, it would definitely lead to the more...

2 or more wins- Gravy, contract extension talks 1 win- Expected, but disappointing not to knock off UTA 0 wins- Unacceptable, major step backward, 7 more months of Matt McMahon threads Only 7? With a Richard Morgan & a "UNC" coaches thread that were assistants when we hired INcapelABLE threads.

Re: Major Announcement Tomorrow

Though it may mean an end to Weekday Games. With the streaming, live content might not be as important as content in general.

It may be behind a paywall, but if we are the main game(s) in town on the new service, it will put us in a good position.
