Re: Softball 2019 Megathread

Ouch. Swept by UL. 3-1 in game 1. 8-0 in game 2. 15-5 in game 3. That's really not as bad as it sounds. Louisiana is number 10 in the whole country. They're undefeated in conference play. Our girls were picked to finish dead last in the conference and are currently in 3rd behind Louisiana and Troy....

Louisiana doesn't have a conference loss this season. Oh, how I'd love to send them home with a few after this weekend!

I love good news! She's really worked to build a solid program, and the work is starting to pay off in the win column.

Re: Meanwhile in Softball ...

There are intangibles in play here. The women are playing with a “no respect” chip on their shoulders and now there is a confidence borne of winning. I don’t see them letting up. Coach's family atmosphere has the team playing together and happy. 30 and counting. From the outside looking in, it look...

Meanwhile in Softball ...

Ladies beat Texas State for the first time in program history going 1-1 for the day. The team projected to finish dead last in the conference currently holds down second place behind undefeated Louisiana. THIS is what program improvement looks like! With 19 games left in the regular season, our soft...

A 20 win (so far) season this year after an 8 win season last year is nothing short of incredible. The team play is fun to watch. As Angel says, this team has EARNED the right to play 40 more minutes. I hope folks will make it Mountaineer Day on Saturday and take in the football scrimmage, baseball,...

Re: SB v. GA State

Junior pitcher Kenzie Longanecker now has 12 wins to her credit. To put that in perspective, the team has won 20 games (first time since 2013), and Kenzie has been the winning pitcher in 12 of them. With 27 games left in the regular season, App Softball is 11 wins away from topping their best season...

Any conference series win is a good series win. Standings aren't based on weather, injuries, or any factor other than the final scores of the games. Way to take the road series, guys!

Trying to keep up with the softball game while cheering at the WBB game wasn't easy. Thankfully, women's basketball came away with the win, too. Our ladies are making their mark.

WBB selected for the WBI tourney, the one we won in 2010. We play UNCA in Asheville Wednesday night. Go Angel! Go Apps! Excellent! I would be there but I have to be....in Boone. My boss has said I can break away long enough to watch the game as long as I come back to work afterwards. UNCA is less t...

Mountaineer Impact Site is Live

Mountaineer Impact has all the information you'll need for premium seating requests for the north endzone. You can also make donations directly for the 105 project and others. There's a webcam there as well.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

So impressed with Coach Drink’s presence in the community. This Saturday I saw him downtown judging the St. Pats parade and a few hours later he was helping with the emceeing of the Daniel Boone Rail Jam. This guy seems to work tirelessly in all facets of coaching. I look forward to seeing his inte...
