Re: 2018 Baseball

Glad they got a win over Coastal! Team was much more competitive the last month which is a very encouraging sign moving forward.

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

I don’t know our allotment of tickets for this game but I’m a little surprised we haven’t sold all of them by now. I guess when they go on sale to the general public they’ll go quickly. I would agree that it is surprising. However they really have not marketed the away ticket sales well. Unless you...

Re: @ Ga State

The team is playing their best ball of the year now. They’re getting enough hits and extra base hits, better pitching and better fielding. This leads to more wins. I said before this series that if the 6 more conference games left, they needed four at least three to have a shot. Keep playing boys! ...

@ Ga State

Huge extra inning win at Ga State today. 4-3 final. A win tomorrow gives us a chance at the conference tournament.

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

I took a full 8 hours away from social media today. Of course, by the time I saw mention of away tickets being on sale (here on MMB) it was after the 4:00 closing of the ticket office. I'm still hopeful that there might be some tickets left for both Penn State and Charlotte for those of us who, for...

Interesting thing to remember for next year. We will have 18 home conference games out of 30.

I doubt they release this without a move to announce the track facility to follow.

Re: 2018 FB schedule coming out Tuesday

This schedule is as good as you could ask for. Just skip the GWebb game if needed. Having 4 home games prior to late October is a plus. Plus weather usually isn't poor back to back weeks in November.

Re: @ A&T

I think it's funny many preaching they want results from Kermit aren't expecting the same from Fox. Roster wise baseball was in worse shape. 5 guys got drafted and 2 others left that were contributors. You dont replace that in baseball over night. Off the field/court Fox has the advantage but on cou...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

In 2 years we will know whether or not it was a good decision. I have my doubts but will defer to Doug Gillin.

I just hope the first decent season he has that he doesn't jump. Hopefully he will remember the patience our AD has had with the process.

I trust DG but I do not believe Jim is the guy. I've been wrong before but I just don't see the HC in him. Hell of an assistant and there is nothing wrong with that.

I can also confirm it was said last month at a Yosef gathering. Track is going to be relocated and they will have their well-deserved facility.

Re: Gillin Signs Extension Through 2022

That is good news BUT I want Fox to get some kind of extension. For what? For the recruiting class we will miss and the fact we are making progress albiet slow but we are crawling out of the hole left by Capel Fear of affecting the future cannot inhibit you in making a decision to extend a coach. He also has a track record of building things and not taking short cuts. Both his prior stints were 8 years each.

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

I think that is the million dollar question. Based on what you have seen to date, can you give him a multi year extension? The answer to me is no.

I do hope he has an excellent year next year but it's his best team by far.

Still bitter over the situation. I don't blame the kid but I do blame the people in their camps. Their crews always cause a fuss when things don't go their way. My philosophy is that a commitment should mean something but in this day and age it means nothing. It is just a place holder or insurance p...
