Re: Win Game 2018

Moonshine, I sure hope you're wrong. Having two "letdown" games would be a tough pill to swallow. I hope I'm wrong too, just feeling some uncertainty with the youth/inexperience at key positions and on the 2-deep. Specifically QB and the right side of the OL (zero starts) with concerns about depth ...

Re: Win Game 2018

I am hopeful for another 9+ win season but would not be surprised with 7-8. Anything .500 or below will be disappointing. My pre-season prediction here does not reflect how I will pick weekly in BigC's prediction thread. Trying to be as objective as possible and hope this is worst case scenario: Sat...

Re: Hot seat rankings

They’re fans are sandbagging This times 49 to the 12th power. They have at least 2 big ticket items they failed to accomplish that took the help of some Appalachian hillbillies. 1) Their freedom! Unable to defeat Cornwallis' men during the Revolutionary War, Charlotte was occupied by the Brits. Tha...

Hot seat rankings

Satt falls under "safe and secure" along with Brown (Troy) and Elliott (GSU). A total of 41 coaches are seen as "safe and secure". Not surprising: Lambert (UNCC) and Montgomery (ECU) on the hot seat with "win or be fired". Surprising: Moglia (CCU) is considered "untouchable" and is 1 of 11 coaches f...

Re: 2-Deep

What really sticks out to me, if this doesn't change during fall practice, is that the entire starting offense (minus Jalin) will be back for 2019. The D loses 4 starters after this season. Hopefully Ivey can get great production out of D. Taylor and M. Clark so that the 2019 D line can plug and pla...

Re: Today's BOT Meeting 6.21.18

Pure speculation on my part but based on their specific groups' play over the past couple of seasons, I'd guess 2 of the 3 coaches being contacted by an A5 team would be Clark (OL) and Brown (DB). With 1 player being drafted and another going as a free agent this year, Clark's OL did not really miss...

Does anyone know if we have even sold our allotment of tickets yet??
We have. It was mentioned in another thread.
When did the ticket office finally sell out? They still had tickets at noon on Friday (6/8) when I called trying to get more than the 4 they allow for YC members.

Re: New campus housing project moving forward

I'm all for updating campus facilities but all this for 400 more beds seems nuts. Come on Beav, that's roughly $450k per bed...Peanuts!!! I believe we can all agree those dorms on the west side need to come down. Not a fan of this particular concept but I will wait for final renderings befor...

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

There's a possibility of a small band going to Charlotte, but it all depends on the money from App's athletics, Charlottes ticket policy, and HSOM money. Forget the 49ers’ ticket policy. I’ll gladly donate 2 of my 4 tickets to help get a small pep band to UNCC. Since the Rich is the smallest FBS st...

JV has some wheels!!! “Sophomore Jalen Virgil (Lawrenceville, Ga./Mountain View) continued to climb the record book in the 100-meter dash. He posted a time of 10.44 in the preliminary round, which tied his season-best mark that was fourth on the all-time list. In the finals, Virgil crossed in 10.32 ...

Re: Orlando Sentinel

Still, it's disrespectful to App to compare UNCC's football birth, infancy and early toddler days in FCS to a storied program such as ours. That's apples and oranges. How would you compare the other recent programs (e.g. GSU, ODU & UTSA) to UNCC? That seems more apples to apples. I don't see any ev...

Re: Orlando Sentinel

This year will be their 6th season. To be fair to all they should still be considered a startup instead of team that transitioned. I disagree. They don't get to use the "start-up" excuse any longer. They transitioned to FBS around the same time as the following teams: App, GS, GaSt & ODU. How many ...

Re: Beau Nunn

It would be awesome for Nunn to get drafted. Based on the draftscout #19 ranking, it looks like Beau is just on the outside looking in for OG's unless there is a run on Guards this year. Looking back over the past 3 years, there is an average of 14 OG's drafted per year. Even though his college expe...

Re: Sutton.....

At this point, I think the biggest battle is at RT as it sounds like Hunter has solidified the RG spot. Don't quote me but I believe the battle at RT is between Williams and Haskins with one being better at pass pro and the other excelling in the run game.
