Re: Orlando Sentinel

Still, it's disrespectful to App to compare UNCC's football birth, infancy and early toddler days in FCS to a storied program such as ours. That's apples and oranges. How would you compare the other recent programs (e.g. GSU, ODU & UTSA) to UNCC? That seems more apples to apples. I don't see any ev...

Re: Orlando Sentinel

This year will be their 6th season. To be fair to all they should still be considered a startup instead of team that transitioned. I disagree. They don't get to use the "start-up" excuse any longer. They transitioned to FBS around the same time as the following teams: App, GS, GaSt & ODU. How many ...

Re: Beau Nunn

It would be awesome for Nunn to get drafted. Based on the draftscout #19 ranking, it looks like Beau is just on the outside looking in for OG's unless there is a run on Guards this year. Looking back over the past 3 years, there is an average of 14 OG's drafted per year. Even though his college expe...

Re: Sutton.....

At this point, I think the biggest battle is at RT as it sounds like Hunter has solidified the RG spot. Don't quote me but I believe the battle at RT is between Williams and Haskins with one being better at pass pro and the other excelling in the run game.

Re: Sutton.....

The duo of Hennigan and Sutton is going to be fun to watch. With defenses being forced to respect them, I think those 2 will open up opportunities for guys in the slot and TE’s to have some breakout games.

Re: @ A&T

As it currently stands per conference RPI, the Sun Belt is "P6". That's quite the step up in competition for Kermit. Not to make excuses as he knew, or should have known, what he was getting into. Based on what he inherited and the youth of this team, it will be long road to hoe for App's program to...

Re: Millennium Campus

The plan, as I understand it, is to raze the 6 old dorms roughly 1,800 beds and build back dorms equating to 2,100 beds (net +300 beds). Sounds like the housing folks on campus are looking to do a private-public partnership with a 40 year land lease if they can make the financials work. I don't know...

Re: Wake Forest 20Mar18

Diamond Apps lose to the Deacs 7-3.

Pitchers gave up 10 walks and a HBP. D ended up with 2 errors. Bats were pretty quiet only producing 4 hits which all seemed to have been singles. Offensive woes continue.

Already getting texts from my SCAR friends. What a huge get by DG and company. Let's hope the Cox follow through and don't treat App like EZU.

Re: Conference USA announces new multimedia deal

According to the Pilot article, CUSA is doubling their pay from $200k to $400k with the new deal. It’s being rumored over on CSN that Sun Belt programs are getting $500k with the new deal. Personally I like the Sun Belt deal even if the money rumors aren’t true. All Sun Belt games will be on ESPN/2/...

A Polish Pope, A Man on the Moon, We think it’s time for Beer in Boone

Did not see a post on the founder of Sollecito's Pizza who passed away last week. I'm sure many on here remember "Mr. S" who "was one of the biggest boosters of ASU football and basketball" and "was instrumental in the movement to make alcohol available in Boone restaurants." https://www.hcpress.com...

Re: EZU fires athletics director

I don't understand how they can afford to fire Compher after giving him a 5 year extension, especially considering they have been running in the red. IIRC, there was a report that each athletic program had to cut their budget by 10% last summer. They also added women's lacrosse so as to not lose 2 m...
