Re: Justin Forrest Returning

Getting Forrest to stay is a huge win for Kerns and company. There was some mutual interest for a high major grad transfer. At the end of the day, Justin did not want to leave this team. He loves App and bleeds black and gold. Had that interest been there 3 years ago, he would have been gone. Kerns...

Re: Kerns Extended

Using Satt as some sort of cautionary tale is a big stretch. His issues at UL are largely self-inflicted due to the South Carolina interview and his botched press conference afterward. Even so, he's still fine as long as they bounce back this year. Yeah he needs to win, but that's the case anywhere...

Re: Kerns Extended

Coach Kerns might want to give serious consideration to where Scott Satterfield is now career wise. Satterfield built a highly successful program and then took the first big offer that came his way. Sure, he has loads of money in his pockets but is now dealing with a ton of other issues at U of L. ...

Re: Spring Practice

The piece about not knowing how to call the offense means he didn't know the playbook/verbiage well enough to set the offense up to be successful. Add in not having a true preseason camp, injuries, opt-outs, etc. it definitely made it more difficult. While on the field, the offense looks very simple...

Jason Shay abruptly resigned at ETSU today after only one season as HC. Would Kerns consider going even closer to his hometown for a program with lots of recent success?
Yes, and there is mutual interest.

Re: Spring Practice

Again. We will agree to disagree. I don’t get my insight from players or a quote from a Coach in the paper. I get my insight directly from the horses mouth -- not a newspaper. Same. So you are aware of the players meeting that more or less told Clark things need to change with play calling? And fro...

Re: Spring Practice

And more than not, those factors had nothing to do with the former OC. That is not what the players say. Heck, that's not what Petersen said. He knows he called bad games. He simply didn't know how to call our offense -- even with the healthy players. Again. We will agree to disagree. I don’t get m...

Re: Spring Practice

Zac’s 2021 stats were on par with his lone year with Ponce. Aside from the INT numbers of course. 2019 stats were skewed by the fact that he completed 39 more passes than he did in 2021. Same avg/p though. Completion percentages remained pretty consistent though. Only real difference was who he was...

Re: Transfer Portal

Hopefully one or both of the seniors return. It'd be great to see Holmes sporting some bigger crowds next year and see if the team can run it back. The starters put in some serious minutes this season, so there is still an opportunity for other guys to get more minutes and develop without compromis...

Re: Spring Practice

Shuler can make every throw on the field. His issue is learning the college game. But, he is very cerebral and will learn it. The reason we brought in a grad transfer isn't because there isn't confidence in Shuler (or Tabscott) but more because having a senior leader thats been there in the room is ...

Re: NCAA-T: Norfolk State (Thursday 3/18)

I hope we can recruit some good players. I think DK can find the players. I hope more will contribute to MAF/Yosef Club so we can offer more scholarships! We have two guys coming in next year that are REALLY good. Harcum and Mantis both have potential to get significant minutes next year. Also, bas...

Re: Herd game update - Thursday

I'd argue that the value of a Saturday game at The Rock is so much higher than being able to watch it on TV that there's no way to compare cost. If all I'd had for the past 20 years was the ability to watch on TV, the incentive to contribute like I do likely wouldn't be there. I agree with 93, this...

Yes, please be patient. Not only are they working remote, they are also learning a brand new system. It's really hard to get training on a brand new system when you can't be in person. Right now, they are missing roughly $550 of what I have paid for tickets but am confident they will get it all figu...

"Say there are 10 minutes left, we are in bounding the ball with same formation. RJ beat's his defender, Almonacy throws the full court pass and a dunk. 2 points! Or, RJ beats his defender and knowing nobody is back, the defender grabs RJ since the defender is out of position. Do you call the foul?...

Re: First Game: East Carolina

I haven't received any email with a link to buy ECU tix. Am current YC. I would call and ask. It's likely based on ranking and the top X% got the first batch of emails but I don't know that for sure. I think you have to have purchased season tickets. I received my email and I'm in the middle of the...

Re: Sunbelt Tournament Rnd 3 vs Coastal Carolina (Sunday 9pm)

And yes, I believe you get hit with the intentional foul on a breakaway where you just grab the guy. If the offensive player is already past the defender and has a clear lane (with ball), then yes. If the defender is still in the way but out of position and fouls the guy, then no. The foul on RJ wa...

Take a look at it from another perspective... Say there are 10 minutes left, we are in bounding the ball with same formation. RJ beat's his defender, Almonacy throws the full court pass and a dunk. 2 points! Or, RJ beats his defender and knowing nobody is back, the defender grabs RJ since the defend...
