My wife used to babysit Tom's son Davis when she and I were students at App. I'm really sorry to hear about Tom's passing, sure it's a tough time for Davis. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
Welcome to the Cabin Bootsy.

Re: Don't Overlook Appalachian State

Being a person from/of the Carolinas, Clemson runs college football in the Carolinas. We do a damn fine job ourselves, but talk to me when beat them, and until we do, quit drinking that black and gold Kool-Aid.

New comish needs know window dressing won't solve the existing or future challenges at his level. He may not have the leadership qualities the conference needs.

Re: Sun Belt Conference Unveils New Logo

I don't hate it but I actually liked the "old" one better. Looks like they are really pushing the branding as "SBC" vs the full Sun Belt name. When I saw this talked about on the SunBelt board (when it was put on USA's new turf), I couldn't picture it looking great with our colors. I like the black...

I mean....Easter already passed. But if something is ever worthy enough to also rise from the dead, I suppose a BBQ discussion isn't a terrible second.
I thought this message board was intended for football, bbq and livermush discussions. What else is there to share thoughts about?

Re: BH Media

I agree, I can't recall reading investigative journalism that was a product of anyone on the HDR's staff, ever. But, they did at one point cover a little more in the way of local government news. Council meeting recaps, etc.. That was back when they had the now defunct Hickory News as a quasi compet...

The Hickory paper has not served as a watchdog for many years now. Their purpose is to publish ads, period.

Re: Who stays, who goes?

This probably needs to be a thread of its own in another section of the cabin, but, I think it's somewhat within context here.

As we expected, DJ and others got a nice little/giant bump in pay.

They've been a total doormat in the Missouri Valley Conference for years. But if Petrino can take them on a few FCS title runs, that could change things.

I'm happy with the Sun Belt at 10 teams currently.
That a big if. Actually, I would say enormous.

Well hell, whats the hold up? Getting Woody back here would be fantastic! Jones too. That would be terrific. Why? I was not the least bit disappointed when Dale Jones left, and both he and Woody have long since been replaced. I guess you long for the good old days that really were not all that good...

Re: 6 teams in 9 years

I am 100% serious here. Who makes that hire? Really, who the hell makes that hire? I thought about that for a while and thought maybe it was a stroke of brilliance on DG to hire such a hot up and comer knowing he get snatched up after a year. We get paid $1.7 million for crying out loud. It was pur...
