Re: Fox fired

Don't quit your day job. I'm not pitching him Jack , but it's a name I've heard in relation to the job. https://swarthmoreathletics.com/staff.aspx?staff=22 Seems to be a teacher of the game. That would be a nice change over the past 19 years. Also, see below: 2012-13 Swarthmore 7-18 .280 2013-14 Sw...

Re: Fox fired

I think all the "Davidson assistant coaching" might be overrated - Matheny has been at Elon for 10 years and he is something like 150-170 - and now Fox's disappointing results - I am guessing there might be other examples out there - I don't want to look

That last play at Montana (I was watching tv) will always live in a "strange" place in my soul - as a player 100 years ago I had played my last games, as a coach I said good-bye to seniors I had coached for 4 years but that last play was hard to explain -it was like something smacked me in the head....

Didn't know if you had seen my post from the original thread but my "little" brother made it to Woodstock - At family gatherings of our younger cousins he is still adorned with being the only family member to witness rock history --- :D

Bob Dylan. I went to his performance at Varsity, but he was not really there.

Bruce Springsteen.
I should have added Springsteen to my list - as for Dylan, I appreciate his music more over the last years more so than during the 60s-70s ---

All games on SEC Network+ https://appstatesports.com/news/2019/2/14/baseball-opens-2019-season-at-tennessee-on-friday.aspx Hey, my friend, saying this as a prelude - I didn't watch any of the 3 games and I glanced only briefly at the boxes - I addressed this to you because you know I have some know...

Saw him first as a Cincinnati Red LEG --- he hit a long home run out of Crosley Field over the left field wall and broke out a window in an old building --- By the way, he hit it off Warren Spahn - ah, the good old days :o

Re: Troy’s Neal Brown to WVU

If you could choose to coach at WVU or Louisville for the same $. What's the better deal? I guess the question would be the realistic goal of the new coach - To have a legitimate shot at the Final 4 (or 8 or whatever it might go to) it would be Louisville. I am sure Louisville has much deeper pocke...

Re: Troy’s Neal Brown to WVU

I would like to ask about this in another way - As those who have been on here for decades know, I am a born and bred West BY GOD Virginian and became a hard-core APP fan when our daughter was accepted in the Fall of '98 and began as a freshman in the Fall of '99. Therefore my 2 favorite college foo...

Many of us, especially of a certain age have lost love ones in wars - and before our time, just as with your "PaPaw" we have lost family members we never knew - I have a close relative buried in France from WWII that, I, of course, had never met - Just lost a very close cousin who bravely fought the...

30+ breeds of dogs and mixes are incorrectly identified as “pit bulls”* in dog bite incidents, attributing the pit bull with an unfair and overstated number of incidents (*pit bull is not technically a dog breed; breeds that are commonly referred to as pit bulls in the U.S. are American Staffordshir...

Re: Pit Bull Attacks 12 Year Old Girl

I have been silent this football season - as I promised - but I COULD NOT let this pass - I am 70 and have owned dogs since I was pre-school (back in the 1890s) - About 8 years ago we adopted a pitbull from the Greensboro shelter - he had been abused and had to have a front leg amputated before we a...
