Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

One thing I just thought about: maybe all his years with PJ have given him some special insight into dealing with the triple option. That would certainly be a good thing for the DC at App State. Exactly. This was a top reason that Satterfield hired Woody from Wofford..... To beat GaSo Stink.... Wel...

Re: Time for Change with App State Basketball

I never expected us to be a post-season regular but I did hope for improvement. I would actually take Capel's performance over this and the record backs that up. Plus that was in the SoCon which is currently ranked 11th in conference RPI. The Sun Belt is 17th. To be fair the last time we were ever ...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

I'm a little new to where the funds come from for the coaching pool. I think I read that U of L had a donors foundation that pays or helps pay a large chunk of the FB staff salaries. Did I misunderstand or is university money supplemented by a foundation? If so, does App have such an organization? ...

Re: Playoff expansion coming??

I would like to see the CCG’s represent the 1st round. That’s 20 teams right there. To account for ND and other independents, create a “play-in” game or 2 that pits them against at-large teams the same week of CCG’s. Bam! 24 team playoff and all have legit access. After round 1, all teams are seeded.

Re: Keep Ivey and as much of this current staff as possible

Maybe it’s time for Trey Elder and/or Tweetsie Taylor to make a trip back up the mountain for the O?

That said, I agree with the sentiments of the board, my concern resides with the D. What will Drink do to maintain our dominance on that side of the ball.

Re: Bowl game thread

Well let hope Drink meets Ivey and the rest of the staff in the locker room and tells them what can I do to keep you. It's a mess right now. A real mess The mess is that Ivey wants to stay, he has been offered at UL, but he needs a little more $ to justify. DG needs to find the money. This is legit...

The best thing that could have happened, happened. And that was annoucing Drink just before this game and allowing him to meet the fanbase, the team and coaches during the week then see how the players responded. Drink graduated summa cum laude and was the student body president in both HS and Colle...

Re: Board of trustees

Just subscribed to App State 247 page. AppStateMania on there just confirmed it wasn’t Gattis and apparently others have dropped Scottie Montgomery as an option. AppStateMania is pretty legit, right? If so, it ain’t Gattis. AppState 247 did not “confirm it wasn’t Gattis.” The guy who runs the site ...

Re: Board of trustees

McNeil has big question marks. It is my understanding he left ECU in quite a mess. That and their AD didn’t put Mo in the best of positions to succeed. I am not advocating for either. Just the more I have read up and learned, I don’t think McNeil is what we want on the Mountain. And I was someone th...

Gillin said in the interview he didn’t get a search firm. He assembled a committee check backgrounds and references but he has 100% say in the process This is backwards. There is no committee. He did hire a search firm. He has had plans lined up for this very instance since after the 2015 season. I...

I believe this is the list to choose from: Woody, Ledford, Horton, Sloan and a mystery candidate not Ruffin or Elliot, perhaps one of the FCS coaches from KSU or JSU. It should also be mentioned that DG has had a plan in place for 2 years, does that eliminate any candidates or give more weight to c...

I know Horton has ties to App, but it was back during the Power I days and not after the offensive renaissance occurred. Additionally, he is used to recruiting blue chip athletes. I want someone that has had to legit evaluate talent and find those diamonds in the rough - and produced doing so. The A...

Re: ULL’s Napier can make a boat load of cash Saturday

That’s what Satt can make with a W as well and bonuses appear similar. With a W on Saturday Satt’s earnings this week will be $125k. $25k (9th W against Troy) $25k (winning the East) $25k (Coach of year) $50k (CCG W) Satterfield’s contract also gets a chunk of pay from YOSEF (but opposite proportion...

No. Only will if they (UAB/MTSU winner) chooses NOLA bowl over all other C-USA tie-ins.

Brown is such a cry baby: It was enough that Brown, without being asked, declared he would not speak about officials and risk Sun Belt discipline. “They had two touchdowns on a short field,” Brown said. “We have to go back and see how they got them and if they got them the right way.” Perfect match...
