Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread
So basically we are shooting for being solidly in 4th place and looking for Troy to keep sliding which could mean 3rd place- huge series next weekend of course. Gotta take care of the weekend but looking very good. Side note- how the hell is Coastal still in the discussion for an at large being so ...

Re: March Madness
I’ll take the incoming comments. Grew up a UNC fan (all we watched in our family), but State deserves all of this. Absolutely incredible run since the ACC tournament. I keep thinking they are going to run out of gas, but they just keep going. They are fun to watch. Clemson all the way😂😂😂😂 Hopefully...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Anyone know if this craziness with the portal this off-season is endemic for all mid-majors (not just the Sun Belt)? Like losing half your roster to the portal alone? https://twitter.com/PardonMyTake/status/1767266202852749569?s=20 Pitino is saying he wishes he could have signed players to contract...

Re: College Football
Watching Auburn/Florida this afternoon, I got a chuckle out of the SEC's slogan "It's about more than W's & L's" which was plastered all over the arena for the tournament. If it weren't for the money sports and the national exposure they provide, would many institutions possess the national recogni...

Re: JMU on bubble but not us?
The NET is similar to the old BCS formula. Highly favors “Style Points”. Its not did you win, it’s “How”? Winning close or in OT counts much less than winning by 10 or more points. All of our OT games, essentially count as losses. Our RPI is 59, JMU is 88. The exact opposite of the NET. RPI is based...

Re: Alumni Chapter Issues
Is the hickory branch still active? Looked at the Facebook page and there hasn't been a post in a year. I know that as of about a year ago, the Hickory/Catawba area board was looking for some new volunteers to step up and run the Chapter - I know they were struggling to identify folks. The board ha...

Re: Alumni Chapter Issues
The Alumni Office is doing amazing given the skeleton crew the University budget allows. I know first hand they routinely put in 60 hour weeks often 7 days a week at very minimum pay. It is truly amazing the things this staff of 6 pulls off. I have shared frustration myself with communication in the...

Re: Yosef Parking - Looks like inflation has hit
I get your frustration, but i honestly don't get your point. ESPN+ was always cheaper. If we have approximately 9000 season ticket holders and approximately 9000 student tickets are sold, that leaves 8000-10000 walkup tickets. The biggest group of fans at the games were always walk ups who aren't r...

Re: Yosef Parking - Looks like inflation has hit
What pisses me off is we have deigned another atmosphere that punishes a family. It is great for the group of individual drunks and retirees (a couple). To HELL with anyone that values a family event. If I haven’t been clear it more than pisses me off. I am sure I will pay up for my wife and I but ...

Re: Yosef Parking - Looks like inflation has hit
I believe the 3-year commitment is to keep current ticket pricing of $250 per season ticket for 3 years so that you don't have to pay for any increases that may happen during the next 3 years. Ticket prices, may very well be set for 3 years. My understanding though is in ‘23 we all have to increase...

Re: Yosef Parking - Looks like inflation has hit
AppDawg, I hear you. I did not address the three year commitment component. I agree that it is another device/strategy to get more consistency in revenue. I’m not sure how effective it will be. For some people it will be a deterrent, for others no issue and yet others won’t abide. Really what lever...

Re: Yosef Parking - Looks like inflation has hit
No one likes increases. They force you to do something you are not doing. Really when you think about it, the athletic administration is taking an incremental approach by raising tickets and parking which are more modest in ‘22 and then implementing the per seat fee in ‘23. In ‘22 there will not be...

Re: Yosef Parking - Looks like inflation has hit
@AppStateNews, you can add one more family of 4 to that list. Nearly a 20 yr season ticket holder. Have had 4 for 13 yrs, dropping back down to just 2. Have friends that are a family of 6, again nearly 20 yr ticket holders - They are dropping totally out. Ticket price increase is totally understanda...

Re: Didn't realize this about the acoustics in our stadium enhancement project
Let's not bury the lede here. They said 40,000 sound like 100,000. Really 40,000??? Sounds good but from the Facilities webpage: Kidd Brewer Stadium’s seating capacity is 30,000, and Wake Forest’s visit to Boone in 2017 attracted a record crowd of 35,126. I doubt the NEZ can accommodate as many fan...

Re: Article: App State Twitter Divide
I get the generational gap creates different views, but criticizing people for encouraging others to support Yosef Club is just wrong. I only made about $27,000 my first year out of college in 2005, but I donated $250 to YC that year. Yes, people have different situations, but it's hard to imagine ...
