Re: Karl Benson on G5 playoff
Creating a G5 playoff would be the first step in recreating I-AA/FCS all over again. We absolutely don't want to go down that road. Our only hope is to get CFB Playoffs expanded to 8 teams with a guaranteed G5 spot. Yes, this is probably not going to happen and folks can say even if it happened the...

Re: Karl Benson on G5 playoff
If the G5 playoff that nets the same amount of revenue as the bowl system, all realistic fans should be on board. In the VERY unlikely event that a G5 team would be chosen in the CFB Playoff, then they move to that and they are replaced. We are a great football program with a whole lot to be proud o...

Random but Interesting
Former Mountaineer Chris McFarland has a small role in the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Those of you that remember Chris, he was a high flyer and a fun player to watch (01-05). Great guy and ambassador for the school as well. I've asked him for details on when to look for him in the movie (loo...

Re: App vs UTA - MBB
Patrick Good and Kelvin Robinson have been suspended indefinitely for a "violation of team rules". Bret Strelow just tweeted it Anyone have any insight as to why they were suspended? I was glad to see them both on the bench near the coaches, cheering the team on. I don't know for sure , but more of...

Re: App vs UTA - MBB
Sorry man. In any other sport i would agree. But not in MBB. This might be the only sport that can be changed within 1-2 years. The young players in this sport turn programs around quickly and are the difference makers in MBB programs. The harsh reality is we are making too many mistakes consistent...

Re: App vs UTA - MBB
In the forty years I've been involved ,championships , and I mean NCAA bids, have been rare, two .Outside of Bobby and Buzz zilch. Theories abound as to why but who really knows ....and yes not hiring Matt Mc Mahon was a yuge mistake. Anyway, Jim has two years to produce a winner. If he fails , we s...

Good luck @Yes. Thanks for your financial support and your thoughtfulness. I'm sorry you're having to answer questions and receive criticism from a bunch of Athletic Tent Purchasing, Utilization, and Design Experts. Re: An L is an L
The line situation absolutely caused a lot of what we saw last night. We were already banged to heck and then Chapman went down. That brought in Collins, who in addition to snapping the ball way too low, was responsible for at least two of the major penalties. Not impressed by his play at all, but ...

We should place a call and see about Todd Starkey's interest level. Just left Lenoir Rhyne after 9 really good seasons to be an assistant at Indiana...maybe he would come straight back to Western NC?

Re: Interesting Interview with Coach Stepp
Ok, I actually have a call out for the coach. Some of you may remember me talking to coach Satterfield about our history with FBS teams and how they man up on our receivers, including holding, and how we have not worked out how to play through it. I was livid on Saturday cause it was obvious that M...

Re: Basketball coaching staff predictions/suggestions
People who are realistically proposing the idea of McMahon or Fancher don't have much of a sense of pride or timing..... McMahon has been passed over for this job TWICE, watching people without the resume that he has get the job. Fancher was a relatively successful head coach here, but he was fired ...

4) The Sun Belt coaches are John Brady, Steve Shields, Ron Hunter, Bob Marlin, Keith Richard, Scott Cross, Matthew Graves, Ray Harper, Danny Kaspar, and Phil Cunningham. If you think this is a league that draws big name castoffs then you are delusional about the state of this conference and the pro...

Re: Matt McMahon, come on down...
A few stray thoughts: 1) D2 Basketball compliance is like the wild west when it comes to recruiting and violations. I don't know any of the names on the list personally and can't vouch one way or the other for their character BUT there is a reason that we don't see more D2 to D1 jumps than we do. 2)...

Re: What's next for The Moose, AppGrad78 and 24/7?
I don't post on here hardly ever, but a few thoughts. I was a manager during some of the Fancher years and have a fond memory of my time spent around ASU basketball. I am now a high school coach that stays in touch with lots of the former players and staff from my college years. While I think Fanche...

How the mighty have fallen. The program is a mere shadow of what it was 4 years ago. The chickens have come home to roost. ASU fans have given Jerry Moore everything he has asked for and more. He rewarded them by putting his personal life ahead of the program, making such poor hires the AD had to u...
