Re: Let's talk about Clark

I think there is a very significant difference between "6-7 wins every year is just fine" and the opinion that with a new quarterback, significant staff turnover and a defense with six first-year starters, a 1-2 win improvement (which would be a 2-3 win improvement against FBS opponents) would be an...

Re: EZU discussion

Strange question to ask, but is this the worst defense ECU has faced to date? Most likely, which is why I suspect ECU actually scores at least 1 real offensive TD in this game. I'm not convinced that the ECU offense is as bad as many folks seem to think. Michigan was the #5 scoring defense in the c...

Missed it? You quoted it and said "Exactly".

Re: Official Gardner's Till prediction thread

App 31 GW 14 GW brings back their top five tacklers and has seven senior starters on defense. Seemed to up their game against FBS teams last season and held up really well against Coastal, Liberty and Marshall. Think they are solid enough to keep it close for a while (maybe longer than we’d like) bu...

Prayers up for her and your whole family - it's been quite a number of years now but we tailgated with you guys in the Stadium Lot a few times and she was such a joy to be around. Here's to a speedy recovery!

Marshall NEZ Tickets Available

Have NEZ tickets available for tomorrow, please let me know if you are interested. Have at least 4, possibly up to 6. Rest of my group can't make it, trying to decide if I'm going to make the trip solo. If I can unload a few, will meet in Boone to deliver the tickets or can meet in Raleigh before if...

2 Club Level Available for ECU

Have two seats together in 312, found out yesterday that one of my son's classmates tested positive for COVID so my Charlotte trip is shot. DM or reply here if you are interested. Got them direct through Ticketmaster, paid $150 each after fees. Would like to get $125 but am open to offers. Electroni...

Re: I've had it

It can't be emphasized enough that our star QB didn't come back the same player from ACL surgery. If we had known that before the season started expectations would have been lowered dramatically. This. 1000X this. With the abundance of All-SoCon talent that departed from the 2012 team, I don't thin...

Re: That Last Samford Touchdown

I have zero problem with it. They ran straight up the gut and nobody stopped them. App put 79 on a 1-win Western team in 2007, then put 70 on Wofford in 2008 and were still throwing downfield in the 4th quarter up 49-24. These team's don't care how bad of a year ASU is having, nor should they. Beati...

Re: that was ugly

Good point. We only won 3 of the last 4 conference titles. We only have 14 returning starters this year. The former coach should have worked it out to somehow have 22 starters return from an undefeated team last year. Completely his fault. Not at all saying that the results are JM's fault but you h...

Apples and oranges - those were already established FBS programs. JMU would be the only FCS transition invited to C-USA without bringing a large media market if they were invited. Not impossible but I'd be surprised.

Re: Going Forward

My $.02: 1) 'Fire Satterfield' talks are premature and counterproductive. He has made some rookie mistakes as it relates to clock management and late-game situations but he's also been given some adverse situations to deal with. Like the players, he has to get better but calling for his job after 4 ...

Re: Devonte Graham

I feel for the kid and understand his desire to play at the highest level but it is not just about him. This is important not only for App but mid-major programs in general. When it comes to recruiting, the deck is stacked against the small conferences enough already. Every year, verbal commits that...

Michael Frazier redshirted after his sophomore season to convert from LB to RB. It is possible but would still be very strange for Blair to take a non-medical redshirt.

Re: More Bulletin Board Material

I have no problem with him calling App out for getting outplayed by A&T. I don't even have a problem with him stating that A&T is flat-out better: I disagree but if this is the one game you have to go by, the argument could be made. What I DO have a problem with is his baseless statement of Appalach...

But if you are going to tweet all summer about always attacking, attack era...at least let your playcalling reflect it. The Jackson/Satterfield combo hasn't attacked much during the last year. Throw the damn ball down field. Saturday is one thing but over the last year? Jamal had the second highest...

Re: Jackson is not the answer

I'm not in the "too early to tell" camp. I have seen all I need to form my opinion. JJ does not seem to thrive in the face of adversity. A bird doesn't change its feathers friends. I disagree. After injuring his knee at Western, Jamal put off surgery and led the team to wins over Georgia Southern a...

Re: Woody

I was actually pretty impressed with the defense but they need help from the offense. No defense is going to hold up against a front line like Montana when they hold the ball for over 36 minutes. They only gave up 16 points through three quarters against a very good offense. After a 3-minute drive, ...

Re: Jackson is not the answer

Jamal played very poorly yesterday, there is no question about that. Still, I think it is unfair to say he is not a leader or a winner, especially after last season when he was repeatedly let down by a porous defense. I'd say Jamal was a huge reason for the wins against Georgia Southern and Montana ...
