Re: Philadelphia, PA

I had not thought about Atlantic City and that is not a bad idea especially the lighthouse. 15 years ago my wife and I visited the casino near Tampa. We drive 30 min from my in-laws. Spent 10-15 finding a parking spot. Walked around the casino floor for 15 min and played slots for about 10 minutes. ...

Re: New Leader at Farm

Also the ASU center in hickory where the old Nichols store used to be. The DC house was sold a few years ago. Zonng changed so a loft type.place could not go there and I guess the money was not there to replace it. Shame they could not find something in the metro DC area near the Metro line-that wou...

New Leader at Farm

https://www.wataugademocrat.com/news/ne ... 37e9a.html

Why long have we had this farm?
How did it come in the possession of App?
How many acres?

I don't think I knew App had a farm.

Re: Penn State write-up at SBNation

S&P ... Supposing and Pontificating. We all do it. But if you use numbers, analytics, algorithms and other tedious stuff, you are supposedly smart. Some just take a guess using experience, common sense and a good noggin (hunches), like Casey Stengel did. I never did like the numbers game though it ...

Missing student from 2016 update

The link is from the e-edition so it may not load unless you subscribe to the Greensboro paper. They picked it up from their sister paper Winston-Salem Journal so there may be a link on the WSJ website. https://www.greensboro.com/eedition/page-a/page_279e6d09-2f9b-5f84-af35-b9a9033e813b.html I can g...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

Satt gave a strong hint in a recent interview that he may have turned down a P5 job to stay in Boone. He said, paraphrasing " three of our coaches turned down P5 offers this year because they like what we are doing here." Was he one of them? We do not know. But he does love Boone and his son is sta...

Re: Philadelphia, PA

I spent 3 weeks in NYC last summer. I loved it.

Best to use common sense of course but lots of Manhatten has gentrified. I was not sure about Philly as much.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Philadelphia, PA

Yo, thanks for the quick reply. Wife and I are taking a 25th anniversary trip to Philly in early August. Already have tixs to Phillies hosting Marlins. Plan on the Zoo as well, and most likely spend a day with the history stuff. Not surprisingly, if you read my posts, we are taking Amtrak both ways ...

Does anyone live in Philadelphia? PhillyApp's name suggest he/she does or at least did.

Planning a trip there in a few weeks and had a few questions.

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

That was my feeling as well. If he leaves then move to Cali. Though as much pull to stay at Boone could be from his wife that is from the area, he is from Hillsborough and he would still be near family in a way that could be a positive in his eyes. I just keep thinking he has spent 22 or the last 27...
