Re: Boone Makeover

321 is certainly not as compelling at King Street, and that is not changing anytime soon but I still would not say 321 is not walkable. Being less compelling is not the same as not being at all.

Re: Boone Makeover

One of the goals for TC of mixed use may have been to deter student housing. But more importantly it should create walkable areas (ie King Street). In addition to the height, that’s the poor implementation of the requirement to the Standard. 321 is never going to be walkable there. If anything, com...

Re: Boone Makeover

I can't see how anyone can complain about the Standard after considering what it replaced, the old run down roof sagging hotels that were there. I frequently bring visitors to App football games and it was so embarrassing to have to drive by those monstrosities near the entrance of campus. I was so...

Re: Boone Makeover

For future reference, are the apartments there expensive? I'm guessing yes. My daughter told me the price and if what she was saying was correct then yes it was quite a bit per person, and I think parking was extra. That close to campus a student could walk or take the Appalcart, but I imagine thos...

Re: Boone Makeover

It would be nice to see something move into the Standard ground floor, but not sure how it is a failure. Did it move out retail that never came back? Is the loan used to build the complex going into default leaving the town with a huge liability? Is the town worse off financially? Maybe just make th...

Re: What are these other schools doing in our Video

App, UCF and Toledo the three non Prig5 schools I noticed. Did I miss any other Great5 schools? Toledo was some cheerleaders on the sideline with what appeared to be a rocket on their uniform so I assume Toledo. Boise State I believe I saw. I figured Boise would be in there for the MWC if they are ...

There is a village inn in west Jefferson
That and Morganton VI are the two I know I have never eaten at. I think I can add North Wilkesboro as well, certainly that is the case in my adult life.

That is my goal over the next year. Hit all the VI locations.

Re: Pizza

There is still a village inn pizza in lenoir I think. And I did like the pizza from the pizzeria at school. Their website still shows it open. I was there last 11-12 years ago. I remember going there with my dad before he passed away. For some reason it seems we are there the day of the JMU playoff...

It looked to either be that shuttered or close to it. Of course when I was passing through and realized what it was it may have been off hours. They have a website that seems active however.

I only thought there were 129 teams in FBS. Maybe, and call me crazy for suggesting this, but maybe Massey is also including FCS teams as well. Just a thought.

:P
Perhaps, or is it that OS is excluding FCS teams?
I had not thought to look at it that way?

Re: Orlando Sentinel

OS is consistent in that he over rates the schools you listed. Would there be 26 FCS teams in front of AState. That seems a bit high of a number, though I am sure the top FCS is coming in higher than 64 out of 250 or so teams. I don't see that many FCS teams pushing that high. For every NDSU there i...
