Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms

General Ulysses S Grant owned a slave. And wait for it............ Won and became President. And he does not deserve a statue in my view then. No person that owned another person as property deserves positive memorials to their memory. Nor does someone like Carnegie that had strikers shot and murde...

Re: SI leagues realignment's

I agree that, he at least gets credit for being creative, but how do GSU, ODU, Charlotte several others (most MAC programs) make the cut while Troy gets relegated? That makes no sense at all. I would also hate not having Georgia Southern in our conference. I almost stopped reading when I saw that a...

Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms

We should rename one Cline Dormitory App State already has some buildings named after Cline actually. Porta Johns don’t count. The visitor center at Dark Sky Observatory is named after a different "Cline" actually. The Cline at DSO is the same Cline that has his name on the observatory at Guilford ...

Re: Cancellations moving into the Fall

I hate to say it, but it’s highly unlikely we see football in the fall. If anything, maybe we play a conference slate. B-ball likely the same (very few out of conference games). I know this is what some conferences are already discussing and planning for, and D-II is going to do it for basketball. ...

Re: Stink suit

I am no lawyer, and realizing the link is only presenting the ex-employees side, but if even 1/2 true I would be settling out of court on this if I were GaSo. I can't imagine GaSo winning this case and pushing a lawyer and court costs even higher. With as much video staff a football team has I can't...

#YosefClub Kidding aside, I do hope these guys at least donate a tiny bit to the club that helped get them that money. I would like to see every athlete that makes it to this level donate back their scholarship, if not the current value then the value that they had when they were students. They can...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

I would urge you to get a flu shot. Most insurance plans have it for free if only because it is cheaper for them than paying drs and hospitals for flu care. And plan on getting Covid shots yearly or more often. Corona viruses tend to not have long lasting vaccines like a measles shot and with the an...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

Outside the metro areas, if you can call them metro in NC, not wearing a mask is the norm. We are fully open with 45 employees seeing customers. I went to a bar last night and sat on a barstool for dinner and watched football with my wife and another couple. It's been like this for well over a mont...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

I think the flu comparison is very valid. We have a flu vaccine and roughly half the country refuses to get it. We have the magical masks for the covid and roughly half the country refuses to wear them. The comparison I'd like to see is if it's the same half. Personally, i get the flu shot but I'm ...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

It’s time to get back to normal. Hold the games allowing anyone to attend that chooses to. If you don’t feel comfortable or are a high risk person then don’t go and watch on TV. This right here is why several states are currently spiking & a second wave is likely. It's not about your personal comfo...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

With the spikes we are seeing now, I’ve just got a feeling we won’t be playing ball this year. It’ll only get worse in the fall-winter stretch, not better. Spanish flu second wave was worst than the first and we seem destined to repeat that history unfortunately. Hope I’m wrong. I do as well and th...

But there are a few simple things that can be done. Marking off seats for some social distancing would be helpful. It may...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

I took this survey from the email they sent me. That was a few days. I was thinking that maybe they were digging for some data of the financial side as much as the health side. One option was able to afford to attend or something to that effect. Another issue is that regardless of health requirement...

"Masks have been shown to be effective in reducing the transmission of the virus, and we should take this small step to try to protect the employees in Boone businesses, Boone residents and our visitors." There are many studies out there and many are suggesting that masks are not the "end all be al...

The grading of Miller Hill has started. Looks like they are covering the track, not taking it up. A hundred years hence, just think what AppArchaeology students may dig up. I was going to post something like that and you beat me to it. Re: S & C Donations/Fundraiser...Part II

Is it time for part III by now? I just sent an email to Anthony Glass and Brad Bielaniec to inquire about what equipment needs they have and a rough estimate on the amount needed to purchase said equipment. I'll post once I receive a response so we can try to make a push to get those items. That is...
