Re: Solid points brought up. Potential P5 break.

I imagine in 10-20 years college sports will be a minor league professional system with regulations just like the various big leagues. To help with guessing on the last 25 here is the wikipedia that lists in a matrices the schools in each G5 conference. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Five_co...

Solid points brought up. Potential P5 break.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/why-we-may-be-reaching-a-tipping-point-for-the-power-five-to-break-away-from-the-fbs/ I pulled a few things that stuck out to me and commented. Good read nad food for off season fodder "Basketball would be the tipping point here because it is the finan...

Re: Johnny Jennings

That's a name I've only read about because of the records he holds. He has to be well in to his 50's right? According to his bio that's 28 years on the force. That's a nice cherry on top for his career.

https://police.appstate.edu/apdp Had no clue we were the only ones that did this training.

Re: Looking For Recommendations

surf city/topsail and emerald isle have been favorites of our. The outer banks has the most attractions for a short drive. Wilmington can be nice. The downtown has nice areas to walk by the water. The shops are traps. Moorheadcity/beaufort/atlantic beach area is nice. Only Wilmington as a long board...

Re: Schools

I remember being at a job fair at App and Texas reps were there recruiting teachers with some fat contracts compared to what NC was offering at the time. The unfortunate side is that the costs of the shutdown and state government bailouts is going to come out of future education budgets. We can't fo...

Re: UCONN football tv deal

Dude had a decent baseball career, all things considered. Played his chosen sport and made some good money doing it. Edit: He made more money than I thought. 2.5 mil in the majors from 2014 to 2018 and 600k signing bonus his rookie minor league season. 500k of that was for not going to the NFL combi...

Re: Schools

Kids are suffering from lack of meals and potential home issues. That appears to be a far greater risk to that segment of the population than the virus itself based upon mortality rates by age. The real worry with schools are the elderly and poor-health individuals children come in contact with. So...

I'm setting the O/U at 3 pages worth of posts before this is removed.
As long as people don't bring up politics or the media and stick to the actual topic it should be fine.........Ill take 4 pages.

Re: Schools

Certain parts of our nation can be debated as to the degree that they should have been closed/limited. Schools were the most important thing that was closed. Schools are a petri dish, as is proven every normal flu season. Packing in 25+ kids within 2-3 feet of each other and then moving in to packed...

Re: Season Tickets

A person from App called me this morning hawking season tickets. I told him I would buy the most expensive ones he could offer if he would guarantee me that all games would be played on Saturday afternoons or even Saturday nights. Of course he couldn't do that , so I wished him a good day, to stay ...

Re: Season Tickets

Whenever I'm perfectly cordial to someone, I immediately get on a message board and talk trash about the encounter and fully expect a pat on the back from everyone who reads it.

Maybe its time for another hiatus, or at least a new screen name.

Re: UCONN football tv deal

They have only been terrible for like the last 10 years or so before that........nope they still sucked. A couple bowl wins aside the specific game that puts them at the bottom of the barrel is their loss to Georgia Southern in 98. Southern almost won the chip that year. Uconn could have stopped tha...

Resurrecting the N. Wilkesboro race track...sort of

https://www.foxnews.com/auto/nascar-ret ... host-track

Any publicity is good I suppose. Interesting they pick that one out of all the old tracks around the country.

The intimidator vs the rainbow warrior. 1996 was the last nascar race there.

Re: Jalin Moore Waived

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/jets-jalin-moore-likely-done-for-season/ If he is really done for the season, that is probably his career. He turns 25 in November and has spent almost his whole NFL career injured. Doubtful any team will give him much of a chance after this at his age.

Re: Time for some BBQ discussions

Have to agree with The Rock as the BBQ Center is still the best. Of course I'm a little biased since my Dad started it in 1958. lexington BBQ is second best to me as I have know Wayne Monk practically all my life. Those big banana splits at the BBQ Center were started by my Grandmother along with h...

I mean....Easter already passed. But if something is ever worthy enough to also rise from the dead, I suppose a BBQ discussion isn't a terrible second.
