Re: 2-Deep

I agree with hapapp that this year we should be cautiously optimistic. It is flattering that we are getting rated pretty high and many are predicting an SBC championship, but this is by far the most turnover we have had in our starting line-up in a very long time! This year will be a testament to ou...

Re: 2-Deep

Prior to fall camp the 2 deep generally reflects the Spring practice, so incoming freshman aren't generally listed. I don't know who we might have in terms of impact freshmen and I'm sure we will try to red-shirt many of them if possible. I'm hoping the OL sizes are low ball numbers. Pretty consiste...

Happy with the ranking, but “App has won 27 of its last 30 games”? Do they mean conference games?
I think they have to mean conference games given that we lost 4 games total last year. I think this is the conference record starting with our winning streak in the second half of 2014.

Re: UNCC - 6:00pm

City Center is an area within the "Uptown" area. I'm not originally from Charlotte, but I have lived in this area since 2000 and I've worked in "Uptown" since 2009. Most do call it "Uptown" these days but I hardly think it's a big deal. I correct people occasionally but I do it jokingly. When I say ...

Re: Grading Football Recruiting from past years

Grading a college recruiting class against NFL draft and free agency would be one metric, but certainly not THE metric for grading a class....at least not at the G5 level. The elite programs could use this metric pretty reliably but success on the college field at the G5 doesn't require NFL talent (...

Re: Damion McLean to Head Track & Field Program

We have a young guy here at work who just graduated (track athlete from App) and he had said this was the move that the athletes wanted. Glad to see a smooth transition for the program.

Best wishes to both Coach Weaver and also to the new Regime of McClean and Curcio!

Re: Grading Football Recruiting from past years

I would wager that programs have internal ways to "grade" recruiting classes but establishing a comparable footing across the league would be the tough thing to do. Within a program, using a method for attributing key stats to each position to each player within a class would be pretty easy to do an...

Re: 2018 App State HOF Class

In hindsight it was the right move just poorly executed as the FOIA showed. Jerry knew it was his last year and he asked the administration to keep it quiet. Then when his time was up he either forgot or lied which made the administration look bad. His family was telling people a year ahead of time...

Re: 2018 App State HOF Class

Until we can agree it was handled poorly by both sides, I bet we keep rehashing this. No doubt DG and SS have more than overcome that dark time. I don't think that there are many who know much about the situation who would disagree. Coach Moore had a hand in things and as I understand it, he attemp...

Re: 2018 App State HOF Class

There has been significant healing between Coach Moore and App State since that article was published in 2014. Everybody who knows anything about the program knows that this was handled very badly by the administration. I just wonder how many more years it will be before we stop re-hashing the whole...

first choice is always all black for home.

For the road white unis, I prefer the white jersey with black pants and black helmet.

Just my opinion, but I really dislike the all yellow uniforms. If you completely invert the color scheme, you'd have something.

Re: 3 new bowl games? Myrte Beach may be one.

We have any idea what conferences these bowls will be tied to? Feel like we probably wont even be in the discussion. I was wondering the same thing but I would have to think the Myrtle Beach bowl would have a Sunbelt tie in....probably Sunbelt vs. CUSA. The size of the facility and the location wou...

Re: UNCC - 6:00pm

This is not a "circle it on the calendar way in advance" type of game like Miami or Wake in Boone. We will easily sell the full allotment. That being said, I think Charlotte fans will show up in great than normal numbers so taking the majority will be harder than people think. I think we will wind u...

according to the article, CCU expanded to 15K for 2017 season and is expected to expand to 20K for 2018 season, so I assume construction is in progress.

It is only meaningless when you get your a** handed to you. Ask Toledo how that works.
Ha! Good point. The Toledo players and fans would probably try to argue that it was a "meaningless" game. I stand corrected.

Re: 3 new bowl games? Myrte Beach may be one.

Never understood the line of thinking that, a game is "meaningless" simply because it isn't in the progression towards a national championship. To the players and fans involved, no game is ever meaningless.

That's a big TE right there! A few years ago we were playing some interior linemen on the OL who weren't much bigger.

Glad to see Fox get the extension. I know it has been a slower than hoped-for process, but things appear to be improving. I hope that he is given every opportunity to win. Since the extension is longer than most of us expected, it looks like the administration is doing exactly that! Congrats, Coach ...

Re: Starting QB

I didn't know Coach Woody either but it is my understanding his style of management was very "inclusive." That is a good thing for transition and consistency. I love the confidence of a DC saying this will be our best unit ever but if we achieve that coming off the turnover we have to replace in th...
