Re: Sutton.....

I really do feel like the OL will be solid. Yes, losing Nunn and Gossett is losing an awful lot, but we saw Neuzil come on strong at LG last year and we still have TEC and Chandler Greer who have had a lot of PT and a bunch of other young guys who may sneak into a starting role. I hope you're right...

Re: Western

OK, so Boone Goon's comment is pretty strong and I agree with the comments about why he might not make the impact to be regarded as "one of the all time greats..." (mainly because if he starts winning big he will get hired away). That being said....Why do some folks want to hang on to this comment a...

Thank you, Scatman. I was about to say....No way that Fox and Maravich belong in that conversation (for very different reasons).

Re: Recommendation - Areas to live near Boone

Thanks for the input everyone. I do appreciate it. I'll relay the information and see if there is any additional info that my friend can provide. I do think that she would be looking to buy. I get the feeling the question is as much about commutable communities as it is about Boone itself.

Recommendation - Areas to live near Boone

Good morning, All! A friend told me yesterday that he was trying to find out about good areas to live for a new faculty / professor at Appalachian. A friend of his has been hired and is looking for information. I am woefully uninformed on this topic. I know that housing in Boone is high, so where wo...

I'm going to wait until about a year after the track is removed and then start a thread called "I miss the track"

Re: Gillin Signs Extension Through 2022

I really think we've beat this whole extend/don't extend issue to death. This thread is to celebrate DG getting HIS extension so let's just give him credit for making a good decision here. I'm going to assume that he has WAY more information on which to base his decision than we do. I think it is sa...

Re: Five Years Ago Today

So I guess we don't play well when just outside the top 25. This got me thinking, when was the last time App won when we were not expected to. For the majority of our games we are favored and I feel we typically win the ones we are supposed to win (don't look at UMass and ULM from last year!). Howe...

Re: Dook Falls To Kansas

Far be it from me to defend Duke basketball! I honestly don't follow them that closely, so I could be wrong about the perceived talent on the team. I just thought this was a lower expectation year. Maybe it was just a lower achievement year. Hey....feel free to enjoy in whatever fashion you wish! :-...

Re: Dook Falls To Kansas

I'm neither a Duke, nor an ACC fan but I don't really see how Kansas winning is a big surprise....especially this year. Kansas is proud of their use of the "one and done" rule, and currently includes a player who had previously committed to App. This wasn't even one of Duke's stronger teams and they...

Re: Series vs Georgia Southern Moved To The Stink

Just a reminder...there are 18 new names on the roster this year. That's almost 2/3 of the total roster. Everyone knew this would be a re-building year. Yes, the reality is turning out to be more painful that we had hoped, but we have a coach who has built programs into championship programs before....

Re: Capel and DTae

I completely agree that App and Capel caught an unfair criticism over this issue. Although I think Capel probably should have granted the release, there is no obligation to do so and neither he nor the University deserve criticism for standing by a legal contract.

Re: Heels Bite the Dust in Charlotte no less

App fans really are SUPER sensitive about UNC. It does seem like some folks overreacted to a post by a UNC student (App alum) in a thread about UNC. It was a poor choice of words for him to use the "we" in reference to UNC, but still.....WOW. That being said, UNC IS a rival. No, they're not a direc...

Re: 18-19 Hopes/Expectations

As long as it didn't detract from his football, I would be all for it. I imagine Coach Satterfield might not like the idea since it would take him out of Spring Training and conditioning. It would probably be great for the basketball team though.

I hope that Thomas Hennigan will suit up for the basketball team and be a 2 sport star at App.

Senior year stats at Guard: 12.6 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.4 APG, 2.3 SPG
Yes, but can he perform under pressure on the big stage? Oh wait! nevermind. :D
