Re: LT Conf Future

Nothing changes over night. The bowl alignments lag behind the on-field performance but at some point they will adjust...hopefully soon! Bowl alignments are negotiated periodically for multi-year contracts. I would be surprised if CUSA doesn't lose some of their favorable bowl alignments given the d...

Re: SB championship Game Thread

Memphis winning means no chance ever to pass them. None. Boise State winning meant no chance. No matter what we did, everyone else accomplished what they needed. Salute to our great team for this great, great season! Exactly! That sums it up. The destination Bowl game was basically set well before ...

Re: Drinks post game

Others have said this above, but I think that Drink's answers on this topic are completely honest. The fact that he is happy at App does not preclude him from listening to other opportunities. Only a fool would say no to an opportunity like that without even finding out what is potentially there and...

Re: Drink Interviews Update

So earlier today Wash. St. extended Leach which effectively takes him out of the running for Ark. Kiffin has made it known that Ole Miss is his preferred destination, Norvell allegedly has a handshake agreement with FSU. With all that being said the only person left out of the initial four intervie...

Re: Ticket sales and attendance Saturday?

The upper east side outside of the middle three sections is 80% available. Other sections are 30% available. Hope the students show up. Embarrassing for our fan base if we don't improve this in the next few days. Exasperating. I just ordered and paid for two but it only made 1 ticket available to p...

Re: ULL discussion

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend Saturday and it's certainly not because I don't want to be there. In fact, Sunday is my birthday and the ONLY thing I answered when asked what I want was a Day in Boone for this game. It just isn't going to work for reasons that I don't feel obliged to explain...

Re: Coaching carousel

Old Miss already has a target on the ground, and it doesn’t appear to be Drink (most think Kiffin). If you get nervous about these things, might as well stay that way for about a month. In reality, there’s not squat we can do about it tonight, so settle in and enjoy the ride we’re currently on. And...

Re: Rival??

I do believe that a rivalry loses it's meaning when one team dominates like App did WCU. However, in any rivalry there will be streaks where one team wins repeatedly and then the other does. Also, the WCU rivalry was not limited to football....it was all sports. That did help to continue the "hatred...

Re: Opening Vegas line for Troy

I don't think UL would consistently beat Troy that badly although they are clearly a better team. Sometimes a game just blows up and in this case, that obviously happened. Troy's D is depleted and overmatched. Looks to me like Troy couldn't sustain a drive and couldn't stop the balanced attack of UL...

Re: Let’s Try to Be.....

I really see no reason at all to go out of my way to belittle Charlotte. In my opinion, the "deluded attitude" that is referenced regularly on here is an internet phenomenon that results from a small number of loud fans being obnoxious on message boards. I live in the Charlotte area and work in Char...

Re: Rivalry Week

My hope is that, with App's success and the fact we our SATURDAY games pulled to ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU, the league will finally let us play it on Saturday and use that Thursday slot for another good matchup for the league. If App is getting on the main stations already, they're wasting that opportunity b...

Re: Place your bets

I think the next trick play should be a fake field goal toss to Hennigan. That would be the same situation that as Georgia's attempted fake punt against Bama in the SEC Championship game last year. Having Hennigan on the field for a field goal attempt would be like putting a neon sign out there say...

Re: Miller Hill Expansion/Re-Grade Done In Time For 2020 Season!

I don't think that back-filling the hill is intended to be the long term seating solution. It will improve the view somewhat, but I would think the main goal is creating the plaza space at the top while moving the hill in closer to the field. I still think the long-term answer will be building stand...

Re: Rivalry Week

I do appreciate the fact that the conference "values" the App/GS game and considers it a conference showcase, but continuing to put it on Thursday is damaging the game itself and it is putting the conference's "showcase" program (App) at a competitive disadvantage. I don't care what time the kick-of...

Re: Top 25 Watch (real thread)

The negativity is coming from new fans who've never experienced the adversity. I'm 35 and realistically I've only experienced 2 or 3 bad seasons in my App State fandom. The 2003 (?) season - we went undefeated at home but winless on the road - and the FBS transition years. Others around here have e...

Re: Rivalry Week

It is correct that SOME big rivalries are played earlier omg the year. However, I would say that all of those teams play their BIGGEST rival this weekend, like it should be! I can't really speak to the other games, but the Georgia / Florida game would probably qualify as the top rivalry for both te...

Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb

I feel for the Lamb family. The life of a college football coach is stressful. I wonder if Mercer is really committed to doing "what it takes" to develop a winning program. I tend to agree that they will probably get more of the same.

Re: AAC Hypothetical

It's nice to say "with a clear path to full membership" and then accept the scenario, but does anyone actually know what that would look like? My assumption would be that it would include showing progress / success in those other sports but achieving that while being consigned back to the SoCon (or ...

Re: AAC Hypothetical

We can achieve the same thing from the Sunbelt as they can from the AAC. Sunbelt is rising and we are leading the pack. If geography wasn’t a problem, the MWC is my dream destination. The AAC are just a bunch of nobodies that got left behind after the Big East collapsed and the ACC pillaged the rem...
