Re: La. Tech AD talking trash

ULL would drag them in football right now. Which I'm sure their AD knows this and is talking trash from a safe distance knowing that it won't be settled on the field. I'm not sure they would have dragged them in 2019 but I do think UL would have won. Tech had a pretty good team and was in the "othe...

Re: Ethan Joyce Tweet

The idea that educating people to obey authority would make this problem go away is an example of blaming the victim for the crime. The issues triggering outrage are cases where there was no flaunting of that authority taking place. In the case of Floyd, he was lying face down and hand cuffed. Absol...

Re: Ethan Joyce Tweet

We will have to agree to disagree ... Human rights issue??? Is that what the media is telling you or the political movements that are the pulling all the strings here. If we are doing a good job of educating everyone on obeying authority, these problems would not occur.(heck, we wouldn't need polic...

Re: Ethan Joyce Tweet

Since we are having good, honest discussion, I'll piggyback off of several post and give a different point of view. As for the #BlackLivesMatter movement, it's more political than it is anything. You are using race and singling out a specific group for the purpose of being divisive, not to bring on...

Re: Ethan Joyce Tweet

I propose a compromise, because we are ignoring a problem by getting bogged down in semantics...Black lives matter, too. May I ask a question here? A truly genuine one. I’m not trying to attack you I promise. Why can’t we just say “Black Lives Matter” and that be it? Why can’t we just believe that ...

Re: App cutting multiple sports

as a parent of a student who's team was just cut this hurts. wish they didn't expand the end zone and saved some money. Hindsight. The decision to build the end zone facility happened way before coronavirus started. What would you have them do, stop mid project, have an unusable construction site s...

Re: Dave Clawson Smack Talking

I understand that, at the end of the game Rubino got a field goal attempt blocked and therefore we lost by one point. That said, if I had to point to ONE play (it's NEVER just one play) that cost App that game, it was the off sides penalty on the punt that gave Wake the ball back. If that didn't hap...

Re: ECU among the growing number of institutions faced with eliminating one or more sports

I'm not going to copy any particular post because I'm not trying to discredit or counter any of the points being made, however it does seem important to inject that App State is one of the most affordable universities in the country, especially when considering the quality of the education. There ar...

Re: ECU among the growing number of institutions faced with eliminating one or more sports

Eliminate useless majors, and stop forcing students to take useless classes. I didn't even get into the bulk of my finance major classes until I already spent thousands on World Civ, Anthropology, and Chemistry. Inflation/Stagflation as a whole is sweeping the nation at a rapid pace. Everything cos...

Re: ECU among the growing number of institutions faced with eliminating one or more sports

college Expenses have grown so much over the last 20 years much higher percentage increases than other sectors of the economy. This isn’t just in sports. Quite the bubble they’ve created. Student loans have been an underlying issue that is cracking. From my senior year at App, in-state tuition has ...

With no home for T&F at the moment, is that a possible victim of cutting?
That's what I'm afraid of. Dropping T&F has been a popular move in recent years for either budget or Title 9 reasons. I really hope we don't have to go that route.

Re: Athlon Sunbelt Coach Rankings

I was impressed with Viator the first couple of years. It seemed like he was getting more out of the ULM talent and they were making progress. Since then he has regressed and seems to be adequate but not particularly impressive. That said, sustaining success at ULM is a pretty hard task. Zero footba...

Re: Athlon Sunbelt Coach Rankings

I agree. Clark is low for one reason: He's new and has no (or very little) track record. He will climb that ladder rapidly when we start playing. Napier is a very good coach and I doubt UL can keep him a whole lot longer.

Re: Sun Belt Conference Unveils New Logo

I don't hate it but I actually liked the "old" one better. Looks like they are really pushing the branding as "SBC" vs the full Sun Belt name. When I saw this talked about on the SunBelt board (when it was put on USA's new turf), I couldn't picture it looking great with our colors. I like the black...
