Re: Underrated Uniforms

I'm always glad to see the Apps getting some positive press by showing up on these lists. I'm ok with the yellow being used as a combo color but I truly dislike the all yellow uniforms. It's just not a good look. My preference is the all black. Back when we had the Steelers look and I wasn't thrille...

Re: SI leagues realignment's

I believe Coastal was also left out. Yes, Coastal was left out but that one is a little easier to understand. I'm not saying I completely agree with it but Coastal is a smaller institution and has not yet shown competitiveness at the upper level (other than baseball of course). I do believe Coastal...

Re: Break out player for 2020?

I believe Thomas will have a big year, which means at least a couple of the WRs will also. I predict that Sutton and Hennigan continue to excel but Virgil will step out of the shadows more often this year and show why he should be an NFL receiver.

Re: SI leagues realignment's

I agree that, he at least gets credit for being creative, but how do GSU, ODU, Charlotte several others (most MAC programs) make the cut while Troy gets relegated? That makes no sense at all. I would also hate not having Georgia Southern in our conference. I almost stopped reading when I saw that a...

App dropping soccer for whatever reasons still sucks.
Completely agree....as well as indoor track. I really hate seeing that.

Re: Jennings to take over CMPD

Is he an App grad. If so, what era did he play? He is a HOF Linebacker for App...played 87-90. Thanks. Hope he does well and stays there a long time. Lordy knows they have had a hard time finding good ones and keeping them through the years Politics suck.. Completely agree. I am hopeful that he can...

Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms

I understand that some have attachments to the names of these dorms. I'm not in favor of "regular" changing of building names either but these proposals aren't random changes. The names (histories behind those names) offend a part of our population. People fall at different places along the spectrum...

Re: Universities report covid cases in athletics

How long does this specific immunity last? That's part of the issue right now...they don't really know. The antibody test is also not very accurate because it cannot accurately distinguish between this and other types of coronavirus. There's a lot of assumption, projection and estimates going on ri...

Re: AppState Football fan safety survey

Georgia is NOT an example of a state that should be followed as any type of paradigm. I have family there and follow the state pretty closely. No, it hasn't been a "NY" type situation, and I'm grateful for that. In comparing the FLU to Covid-19, it's important to keep in mind that flu statistics are...

Re: FALL 21 QB?

It is interesting that most of you freely assume that DBG is #3. The #3 spot will play itself out over time, but DBG and Shuler have had the same amount of time in Peterson and Clark’s system. I would also add Gibbs and Wilson to the conversation. Ideally, you would like to see both Shuler and DBG ...

Re: FALL 21 QB?

I'm not a big fan of a 2QB system. I've seen it work in a few cases but more often, it seems to just keep the offense out of rhythm. Situational use of QBs seems to just show your hand about what you're about to do. It's possible but I would be surprised to see App commit to a real 2QB system....at ...

Re: NEZ Update Query

Now that the track is being taken up, I hope we're able to use the space for more seating before too long. I imagine that is at least 9 or 10 years down the road now though since the turf is being replaced in the same position. Around 2030, I'm hoping for a lower-bowl renovation/expansion ––Fully-c...

Re: FALL 21 QB?

We do seem to have some excellent options in the QB room. DBG has some amazing physical attributes. I would love to see us with that kind of athlete at QB. It's been a long time since we had a big QB and in this case, we wouldn't even sacrifice speed or athleticism. That said, there are some other v...

Re: Turf Replacement Pics

When we first changed, I strongly preferred the white "A" but the black "A" has grown on me. I really like it now and, although I still like the white, I think I prefer the black. I have plenty of gear featuring both.

The grading of Miller Hill has started. Looks like they are covering the track, not taking it up. A hundred years hence, just think what AppArchaeology students may dig up. I was going to post something like that and you beat me to it. Centuries from now there will be an excavation and someon...

Re: App cutting multiple sports

DG addressed the reason for dropping indoor T&F. It was due to a lack of training space to field a competitive team. And yet we fielded a successful program for years with no facilities. We now have an indoor track in the Holmes Center (such as it is) although I understand that facility is primaril...

Re: App cutting multiple sports

I have to wonder how cutting indoor track for men is going to affect mans track overall. Do most compete in both? That was my thought as well. I have to think it will have a significant impact on the outdoor T&F team. Our chances of rising in the SunBelt just plummeted. It also seems the benefit is...

Re: Turf Replacement Pics

I think it looks great personally. The two color AppState is the logo that has been promoted since we officially re-branded ourselves for in preparation for the SunBelt (which already had an ASU). I like it. It's simple and allows for the words to be continuous (no space) while emphasizing the indiv...
