Allied invasion at Normandy Beach.....D-Day. My Dad was there. He would be 102 years old today if he were still living.

I'm confused as usual. Which one of the posters got butt hurt? Was it daze, Rek, or who ever? Dumb butt. The term butthurt was used. Reading is fundamental. Huh? What are you talking about? You being confused is an understatement. No one is butthurt. This is a thread about tennis courts. Theres not...

Re: Bill Mauldin
Know him well. We started together at App Fall 1963 and graduated together spring 1967. We lived in Justice and then Newland hall, wife Linda, an App grad also. They live in Blowing Rock. Super nice couple and great alumni. Great representative of Albemarle/Stanly County and lover of it. Calls it h...

Bill Mauldin
Anyone on here old enough to remember Bill Mauldin? He played at App back in the day. Bill gave an acceptance speech for his induction into the Stanly County Sports Hall of Fame last night on the campus of Pfeiffer "University." Evidently he played football and another sport at App. He was very emot...

Re: Did Ya Know?
I never mentioned Cline, I was referring to ASU71. You just assumed I was talking about Cline which I was not familiar with until Beau posted. Well then, podner, you are the only one on here who wasn't familiar with it. Haven't used ASU71 in maybe 20 years unless it was an isolated incident. You're ...

Re: Did Ya Know?
Since you are using his former name, does that make it ok to use your former name? I used his former name because I followed his days at Power Central and was hoping he would come to NC to play at Duke, Carolina, or Wake. And Cline has always been my name. It was my Dad's name. May he RIP. Just use...

Lew Alcindor’s mother was from NC? He’ll always be Lew Alcindor to me because that was his name when we fans watched along as he was being recruited. Quite a back story. Love his ads on TV. They have helped save a lot of lives

Bill Walton Passes
May he rest in peace. One of the greatest ever. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/27/us/bill-walton-death/index.html Walton’s basketball journey began at UCLA, where the 6-foot-11, red-headed center starred under legendary coach John Wooden and led the Bruins to national championships in 1972 and 1973, bo...

Re: Portal vs Grad rate for athletes
Is the portal (and NIL) the main reason our athlete grad rate is relatively low? I know our athletes are at least as intelligent as our rivals. 80 out of 1600 athletes. Or 80 out of approx. 4000 total grads. Is the graduation rate low, or is it just a small number of graduates? That is a very signi...
