Re: NEZ work today

By history we should support Mountain Dew. But, I prefer sundrop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_eSUBotF64 Sun Drop is so good, but are you old enough to remember the glass bottles of Sun Drop with bit of fruit pulp in the bottom? And the comment on each bottle or on the cap that said, "It'll ti...

Re: RIP Charlie Daniels

My personal favorite for what it's worth: While The Charlie Daniels Band had numerous hits and remained a staple in Country music radio, his most enduring hit was a tale of a young man named Johnny who challenged the devil to a fiddle-playing contest and came away with a violin made of gold. “The De...

Re: NEZ work today

I guess no one calls it a “soda dope” anymore. In the old days we walked to the store to get a “dope” and a pack of nabs -usually a pack of Lance crackers. The story was that there was a small amount of cocaine in “Coke”. No such thing in Pepsi. Also Pepsi did begin in N.C., Coke is a...ugh... a Ge...

Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms

I love history, and have studied it for most of my life. I have four great-great-granddad’s that were Confederate soldiers I hold no animosity against any of them. I’m sure they did what they felt they needed to do for their families. However, it’s been approximately 155 years and I wish we would q...

Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms

Name changing seems to be trend in our current environment and I don't care for it. If the schools had to give back all the $$ these folks have given through the years when they take their name off a building, might make some of these political decisions a little tougher! GO APPS! I couldn't agree ...

Having already done some searches to no avail, can anyone tell me if Gardner-Webb was a junior college when Gilmore played there?
You forgot to look on Facebook! J/k

Actually that's where the topic came up. One of my former African-American football players made a post about Artis Gilmore.

Re: Cancellations moving into the Fall

I hate to say it, but it’s highly unlikely we see football in the fall. If anything, maybe we play a conference slate. B-ball likely the same (very few out of conference games). I know this is what some conferences are already discussing and planning for, and D-II is going to do it for basketball. ...

Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms

I may be the outlier here, but I’m personally not a fan of changing buildings names regularly. I understand progressing and updating, but foundational places are just that...foundational. Living close to Penn State now, it’s neat when alumni from years ago are discussing the EXACT SAME building wit...

Re: Universities report covid cases in athletics

They are testing the blood, always have, just never announced it before unless they found something. That is what those little test tubes are far. I realize they test blood but had no idea they tested for COVID-19. I've been giving blood for over 50 years except the 6 months or so when my iron was ...
