Re: Food,booze and Memories

Found this article when I was searching for "Grubstake Saloon". Drinking Wars: A Wet Decade Few things rouses a populace like a vote on alcohol sales. The 1980's in Watauga were a time of controversy, pro-business versus pro-morality, wet versus dry, and a flurry of elections challenges.A Wet Decade...

In honor of nearing 100 pages of mostly positive discussion about our football program, let's fill a few pages up with: Worst Restaurant in the High Country. My vote: Peppers This x 100 I have never understood why that restaurant has a following like it does. Don't people have microwaves at home an...

I’ll admit I havent tried it, because a Mexican and Seafood restaurant in a former Golden Corral didn’t appeal to me, but I have heard from several good sources that Puerto Nuevo is the best most authentic Mexican in the HC. Drive to 2000. I don't think it's the most authentic, but it's the best me...

I'm probably in the minority here, but it's hard to build a program with 0 fans. In any sport you have smaller clubs or 'mid majors' (green bay packers, Davidson basketball, app football, Portland trailblazers, ext.) Who don't just have massive support after their good, but before they were relevan...

Did you have an issue with shortening the previous coaches name?
I don't recall anyone calling Coach Satterfield "Sat." Do you?
It's Satt, and it's use is prolific.

Yeah, thanks!.... I was 99.9% sure I had read that on here or indirectly... Just can’t grasp how we’ve assembled this level of experience/talent at an average of 135k per man!....
Maybe I misunderstood and you weren't including the HC salary....

Not to derail this thread..... But am I the only one that thinks Daniel Boone Inn is overrated?
It’s a tourist trap and nothing else.
Nah, the breakfast and lunch are pretty good, and a fair value. It's much more than just "tourist trap". Not worth waiting in line.

Drink's pitch to these high profile guys probably is "help me dominate for two years and I'll move us all to the ACC/$EC"

I'm fine with that.
What? Eli was in the ACC. Most of the staff either came from or have been in P5 conferences.

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

Don’t we have a coach in place now that can talk some sense into Duck. His stock will definitely rise if he stays on board and learns from guys who’ve been there and done that. I’m not sure of his motivating factors. But, long term, he’s missing the boat. Possibly missing a cruise ship. Regardless,...

I won’t be here to say I told you so as I will be upset because our D is not what it could have been. What frustrates me with Roof hire is that we hire a guy who will change our scheme and we that scheme change does not suit the personnel we have. I see is going to more of a 4-2-5 base. I get we ru...

Not really. The vocal minority has already had a number of meltdowns and have nothing left in the tank.

I agree with boone goon that NO is the most decadent and filthy city in the nation. Yeah, they got the dome and the war museum but it's an awful city.
