Re: Stepping stone vs last stop

Cobb set our program back a decade with his ham handed handling of the MBB program. I do think DG will make the hire that will turn the corner.

Considering our record the past five years, the fact that he's recruited many of our players could also be a good argument for not retaining Allison.
That makes no sense whatsoever considering the talent has improved practically every year.

Re: Fox fired

A choice is upon DG... Either INVEST in Men's basketball program or be content with the program losing between $1 and $1.5 MILLION a year when it should be one that produces a good revenue stream... Then say "we can't afford it".... Folks, my opinion here, we can't afford NOT to invest in it. I don...

Re: MBB: Apps @ ULM 8 PM EST ESPN+

The season is long lost, ASU basketball is an embarrassing failure. Money aside, isn't it a better look to fire Fox now rather than losing out the rest pf the season? It's a dumpster fire.

I'm not sure how ESPN is allowed to create their own logo for a team.

The way we pronounce it is actually the forth most used pronunciation. I read that in the Random House Second Edition Unabridged Dictionary Circa 1987.
The way we pronounce is the only proper way to pronounce it. It's an easy word to butcher though.

Re: Construction Pics

I don't see the big deal. The demolition is pretty straightforward and should not take very long at all. Meanwhile there is not much construction that could have taken place in December and January anyway.

What a discombobulated, incoherent mess. Who is this geek? He clearly does not know college football.

I believe this album cover from Doc, Merle, and the Band was taken at Clydes or Hollies (not sure which one): https://www.google.com/search?q=doc+and+the+boys+album+cover&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=ECkWIrUVh0o1VM%253A%252CUo4hb3rZN-U_3M%252C_&usg=AI4_-kSqU96b1rsks_LFz2YcWaE_lxwBqg&sa=X&ved=2ahUK...

'82 (freshman): Happy hour with 5 cent drafts (yes a nickel) at Mother Fletcher''s, buckets of beer at Clyde's, bands at PB Scott's and hanging on the deck at Holly's. (Note: The drinking age was 18) '83 (sophomore): Cheap Trick at Varsity Gym, parties at the Powderhorn shed and also at "The Barn" ...

Still a little fuzzy on it but I think you're right. All these people calling it Mother Fletcher's too. Guess they forgot the Library Club. I got h...

Re: Food,booze and Memories

I was at App in the early 90's, our favorite bar was Caribbean Café, it was actually mentioned in an issue of Playboy as one of the top college bars in the US. Loved talking to the owner, loved his Caribbean Jerked wings, hated when he packed up and moved down to Georgia. Piccadilly café used to be...

Re: Food,booze and Memories

I guess it was my junior year. Some of my friends were going to PB Scott's that night and asked me to join them. I had never heard of the band and was low on funds, so I passed. Six months later the whole world knew who REM was. Oh well. I was at that show! I remember there was some weird dancing g...

Found this article when I was searching for "Grubstake Saloon". Drinking Wars: A Wet Decade Few things rouses a populace like a vote on alcohol sales. The 1980's in Watauga were a time of controversy, pro-business versus pro-morality, wet versus dry, and a flurry of elections challenges.A Wet Decade...
