Re: Birmingham Bowl
I don't blame anyone who is looking to transfer who wants to sit out. I do, finish the damn job. You're under scholarship for the season, you owe it to the teammates that have poured themselves into this season, and those that supported your journey from the start of the season(s). Especially if yo...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I know everyone talks about extra practices, but we practiced in Spring Ball, summer workouts and for 13-14 weeks this season. We have injuries. Are we going to gain that much from extra practices in the era of the portal? If the players want to play, then I support it. Life is too short and you on...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I’m sure it’s been said but I will ask. In a situation like this do the coaches ask players if they want to play? Either some (hopefully most) love it and want to return to or stay on campus for yet 3 more weeks of practice for one more game or some say screw it I’m done. I guess I get the whole po...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Are we going to have issues putting a team on the field? They wouldn’t have accepted it if that were an issue. There may be opt outs like any team. An opportunity to let some young guys get playing time. More football. This is awesome. My understanding is that they had enough buy in from the player...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
1 year left. But have a Microdisectomy next week. I think I could be just drugged up enough to throw for 300 and 3tds by Dec 29. There’s a shot for that. Suit up! Get the icy hot and ibuprofen ready…and probably a wheelchair. I have already called dibs on the wheelchair. As the country song goes..I...

It’s legit. They finalized it about 8:30 tonight.AppInDC wrote: ↑Sun Dec 07, 2025 9:02 pmBut link just got taken down. So unsure is is legit or people getting ahead of skis.EastTNMountaineer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 07, 2025 9:02 pmThey ran out of 6-6 teams, so they started running down the list of 5-7 teams. They called Baylor and Temple, they both declined and we took it.

Re: Recruiting
If the young man signs, do we really think he would actually start as a true freshman. Doesn't seem to happen often... Will DLo risk that option given expectations for next year? Also depends on what other QBs on the roster. I believe he is our long term plan. Still probably need a QB next year via...

Re: Let's pile on Gillin!!!!!
It is my understanding that DG does indeed read social media so maybe he’d getting these suggestions. DG reading social media is one thing. Actually being open to new ideas and taking action on them is another. It would be a tough balance, because you do want your AD to be open to feedback. But soc...

Re: Let's pile on Gillin!!!!!
How many seats will be included in the east side expansion and how much does it cost? Assuming it's $80M (up from the $50M three years ago before construction costs skyrocketed) and 3k seats at $1,500 each, that's a 18 year payback. That doesn't pencil out. If we receive large donations for a porti...

Re: FB vs the fake ASU Saturday at 2:30
Also, still find it odd that we kept letting Arky get out of bounds on their last drive to stop the clock. The old "prevent" victory defense. Way too soft, no blitz, it's how you play if you are up 10, not 6. This was our pass D all year .. whether in the 1st Q or last minute of the game. Not sure ...

Re: FB vs the fake ASU Saturday at 2:30
Players will generally galvanize their collective efforts based on one of two factors. 1) they love their coach, or 2) they collectively hate their coach. Guess we’ll find out soon, which it was I’m not suggesting either one over the other here. The team played hard the last two weeks which is a go...

Re: Hanging on for 26
That’s a tall order. Road games at State, ECU, Marshall, Coastal and Southern. Can’t really assess the competition until after portal and spring ball, but looking at it as is now, those are going to be challenging games.
