Re: Maxwell Watch List

I always get a little nervous when players get so much build up about how good they are. I hope he keeps his head in the right place because defenses are going to be keying on him this year with us starting a new QB and all.. Agreed. I can see a game plan of short intermediate routes to soften the ...

Re: Orlando Sentinel

I get that these are only predictions from one source, but how is Troy still out there? They are replacing their four year starter at QB and their belll cow RB. And they lose 6 starters on defense. They set up very similar to us on offense. Good depth at receiver but will have an unproven commodity...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

Good points but Mack Brown’s teams never played for anything important. Why? Because Florida St was in the league and the BCS wasn’t going to take a Carolina over a Florida St if records were equal. My point being is that the system is flawed. There is a pecking order for getting into the playoffs ...

Re: Hot seat rankings

What’s the over/under on margin of victory by App for UNCC to fire Lambert? 20, 30, 40? What trips the wire? I don’t think that the number on the scoreboard will tip the scales as much as the amount of black and gold in the stands will. A stadium even 50% visitors should be a red flag that somethin...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

You guys are all wrong about Sat. He's a competitor and while money is a big draw, he will only leave for a real challenge. NC State might fit the bill but so does Appalachian State. We have been very successful during his tenure but we are still no Boise State and we could be. If he stays it will ...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

We can come here and debate this topic from now until the end of time. None of us knows what is going on in the Football Office, AD Office or the Satterfield household. SS may have found his dream job and it is here. He may have no want or desire to leave the mountain. But circumstances change all t...

I have said this before and I still feel this way. I have no knowledge of the situation, only an opinion based on my interaction with him as a person and my own personal experiences. His daughter is entering high school this year and teenage girls don’t react kindly to change at this age. I have two...

Re: Penn State write-up at SBNation

There are a lot of similarities between us and them. The loss of some key performers opens the door for talented, yet unproven, untested players. It will be fun to watch these two teams develop through the season.

I think the move of Austin Exford to OLB is going to be a good one. I could see him starting by game 4.

Re: Orlando Sentinel

I would agree with this assessment as well. Overall, it is fair. With no disrespect to author or players, I wouldn’t consider the losses of Dufield and Lewis to be key given that Reed was 1A last year and Sutton is a more than adequate replacement for Lewis. Don’t get me wrong, Lewis stepped up big ...

As he should. Coach Moore represents the highest form of what a human being should be.

Re: Grading Football Recruiting from past years

It’s almost impossible to grade in hindsight because how do you account for coaching changes, injuries, poor player development, and even good old fashioned bad luck? You’ll never convince me that Jimbo Fisher isn’t one of the five or ten best coaches in college football, a great recruiter, and gre...

I would agree that Ivey and Brown were probably two of them. Has Clark been around long enough to warrant a P5 offer?

I think that would be an interesting study but man that would be very difficult to plug in objective variables.

Re: UNCC - 6:00pm

Hey guys! Long time, no post... having 2 girls (2 year old and 3 month old) leaves time for, well, nothing else really. Anyway, I'm hoping to snag a couple tix to the UNCC game at some point if anyone gets any extras. I live in South Charlotte, so it'd be a shame to not be at this one! Probably wil...

Big win by Mexico. Combine that with the Iceland/Argentina draw and this is some good pool play action.

Re: UNCC - 6:00pm

I can see folks skipping this game or a September home game. Not everyone can carve out four weekends in a row for games that are either close to home or home games in Boone. It's not a problem for me to make the Charlotte, Southern Miss, Gardner Webb, and South Alabama in back to back to back to b...
