Re: No Southern Miss Reschedule: Possible Refund

A tweet from Ethan Joyce: @EthanJoyceWSJ Just talked with App State AD Doug Gillin RE: the So. Miss game. Said there’s a tentative agreement to play the game during the 2024 season. App State has a home game open in 2023, but that spot will likely go to an FCS school. Will play at UNC, vs. ECU and ...

Re: Troy v Nebraska

Good for Trory Good for SunBelt Bad for Nebraska Bad for App But looking forward to our final game with them more now. Why is this bad for App? Bad in that Tory can close on big games, even when it's a crappy version of Nebraska. Good in that the head coach there will be sought after more over Satt...

Re: For those thinking about ESPN+...

I watched it on my IPad and the picture was great. I can't get it to stream on my TV though. I opened the app on my tv and it asked for me to log into my device and add the code but it still didn't work.

Re: APP STATE 12 Votes Top 25 coaches poll.

If we run the table, unlikely, and look impressive doing it, again, unlikely; we will set ourselves up to be a preseason top 25 team next year. Returning 10 starters on offense. Three of our top 4 RBs. A large amount of defensive productivity as well. We are playing for recognition in 2019.

Re: Satterfield

I still say offering a 15 year contract to a guy like Satt is not a bad idea. And it’s time for DG to develop a hit list of other schools big donors, put together a team of alumni in those areas and give solicitation a shot. We used to call that elephant hunting. Would that mean that if we gave him...

Good win for Troy but still does not make me worried about playing them. I think we'll be ok. more than likely will not be easy but i think we will get the "w"
Agree. Troy beat a team that Penn St would curb stomp.

Troy has 180 yds of offense. A win is a win, but Nebraska is nothing special.

If they get 6 Ws, it says a lot as to how far the conference is behind the AAC.

Re: Rescheduling Hypotheticals

Since we are all throwing out "easier said than done" scenarios. Here is what we should do. Step 1. Tell ESPN to stick their early week, no attendance game in their back pocket. Step 2. Tell Arky St. that we are playing on a weekend and to stand by the phone. Step 3. Call So Miss and tell them to sp...

Re: Satterfield

I go reference my acquaintance with Bob McKillop at Davidson. He had multiple opportunities to leave Davidson even after his kids graduated HS. Ultimately he like the community, the school and decided how much money does one really need? Who knows maybe lightning strikes twice? Not LIKELY.............

Shawn approaches life like he approaches touchdowns; With enthusiasm, passion, and heart. Nothing wrong with Shawn. If you walked up and told him that he was a dumbass for tearing his bicep in that manner, he would probably laugh and tell you that you are right.

Re: No game this weekend

To piggy back off of what 8993 is saying, these decisions were not made in haste. There are literally hundreds of factors in play with this decision and all of them centered around safety. The one thing that I can say about a football game is that I have been excited about a win and I have been disa...

Wonderin' aloud.... If USM had been a 20 point favorite, would that have changed their view on trying to get played?

I think the concern was the potential loss of security and support personal who might be sent East to cover Florence. Maybe travel concerns for USM and their entourage too.
It also frees up hotel rooms for evacuees.

Re: Rescheduling Hypotheticals

As mentioned earlier Southern Miss has a bye on 10/6. Play Southern Miss on 10/6 - Move the Arkansas State game to 10/13. I think ESPN would allow this; however, Arkansas St may not be willing to give up an espn2 game. Other than the above, I think we're playing an 11 game regular season. I think A...
