Re: 2024 Roster Updates

DL and OL are the most over inflated positions in the portal market. Why? Because everyone needs them and they know this and leverage it in negotiations. Getting one isn’t guaranteed quality as that carcass has been picked and cleaned. Is the quality in FCS not good enough for us to pluck or are we...

No one is claiming dark deception. I’m using my eyes to see that he isn’t close to home in Dallas. There are many reasons to transfer and the getting closer to home reason was trumped by one or more other factors.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

X transferred to a school 1,700 miles from his hometown. Can we put to rest the narrative that he wanted to be close to home? That was his desire. He lost his father and grandfather while he was in Boone. Maybe he didn’t find somewhere in California and took what he could get. Not everything that d...

Re: 2024 Roster Updates

I realize that his stats aren’t great, but you have to consider what he was playing with. Something else to think about is that he walked on to the Clemson team and earned a scholarship. That says a lot about him.

He played well against us last year. Former starter, I like it. Nicely fills the void left by the Texas kid.

Honestly, with his experience, probably an upgrade.

GO APPS!!
That’s how I look at it. For what we needed in the role as QB2 this year, I’m not sure that we could have done better.

Freedom for athletes but may eventually severely damage or kill athletics for small/less money schools. But the big/money schools and overseeing organizations won't care they want to rule everything and get all the money.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

It is most likely a setting of expectations of roles and not playing time in particular as the guys that tend to play more are the players that play within their roles. The coach may want a kid to operate in the system one way and the kid may want to play a different way. I was talking with Coach Sh...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

As this was likely addressed to me in the routine passive aggressive fashion, I will opine. My assessment of Mantis’ abilities are my own and shared with the guy that sits next to me at games. Haven’t spoken to any coaches about Mantis. My comments on Marsh were based on a conversation with Kerns i...

Must admit for the last couple years this team gets better as the season progresses, hope they keep the train rolling.
We did achieve the 20 win plateau two weeks earlier than last years squad.

Gotta love the off-season filler. They haven’t played one game of the 2024 season and already have an “updated” top 25 and they dropped a spot.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Mantis to Maine. This blows my mind -- kid has 1 year to play, from Indiana and going to go to Maine.... Why Why Why? Where will his degree be from App or Maine? No Indiana school wanted this kid??? Mantias, Harcum, Brown and Marsh leaving makes 0 sense unless there is something more that we do not...

Re: D1 Board of Directors sets stipulations on Pay to Play and transfers

This isn’t new information regarding transfers. The rule on being on track for graduation has always been there for transferring. It’s been an issue for those athletes looking to transfer into UNC system schools for awhile now.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Marsh leaving is a good thing. Was he a problem? Not happy with minutes I assume? He was a PG, a Freshman PG at that, and led the team in shots taken per minute played. He put up .46 shots per minutes played. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but the next highest was .37. Gregory was .33 per minute fo...
