Clemson has an opening on 9/19. Hope Gillin is on the horn with the Tigers.

BYU has an opening on 9/26.

Weak and App have opening on 10/3.
We play Looziana four days later on the 7th.

Re: Bus ride only conference

I am all-in on regional realignment. I don’t think you have to be so focused on bus travel only that you limit yourself this much, though. I think just taking the eastern halves of CUSA and the Sun Belt makes more sense. (ECU would be fine but, as Mad Doctor says, there’s no reason to think they’d ...

Re: Schedule

There is a very obvious joke there about how this particular rebrand is easy to miss. Not everyone can find it. But I won't do that joke. This is a family website. I once flew from Charlotte to Pensacola and back. That's a fun pair of airport codes. At any rate, I don't mind scheduling Charlotte. I'...

Re: Bus ride only conference

I think that the 8 that you have are fine. In my opinion, if you add 1 more, then you need to add two more for travel purposes. Basically, pair them up for travel for non football sports. In this scenario it would seem logical to have the following: ECU/ODU, Stink/GSU, Coastal/CLT, APP/Marsha. Addin...

Re: Schedule

Not sure about Tenn., but Va Tech at Bristol would not work. I believe that ACC scheduling requires that the game be played in Virginia.

Re: Schedule

I would say to wait and see what happens. We are pretty full for the immediate future so this may be a situation where Wake may pay us to help pay someone else to move a game. For instance, and purely speculation on my part, but we have a road game with Wyoming in 2023. We may have to pay a penalty ...

They had a Home and Home with ODU already scheduled. I believe that the game this season was originally scheduled for Norfolk. They just flipped it.

Sucks. Really wanted that Wake game to happen while this group was together and we're the clear favorite. Any other ACC schools with an opening?
We aren’t going to get a P-5 to play us this year.

Re: Schedule

The Seniors would get waivers, but that doesn’t excuse the cost of the scholarship. Aside from the scholarship, you have to factor in all of the ancillary cost of attendance. Nutrition, academic support. Each full scholarship has a sticker cost of around $40k per student athlete. Multiply that by 25...

Re: Schedule

Well replacing our 2 games with say Charlotte and ECU would be ideal. Especially if we can’t keep Wake this year. I don’t mind a game against LR or GW, as long as it’s just one game. Non of the other NC ACC teams will not go out of their way to schedule us this year if they don’t have to. We aren’t...

Re: Schedule

ACC gets one OOC in state game. I know the App game is a revenue generator, but we’re in the middle of a pandemic. No other team they can schedule that will generate more revenue for them. If capacity is set at 50%, Groves holds 30,000 or a little more? I doubt students and season ticket holders ar...

I don’t think we play Wake this year. The game is too great of a revenue generator to play with limited capacity. I feel that it will get rescheduled.

Re: NJCAA moves fall sports to spring

Spring football would not be good. Spring is when we heal from fall injuries. In my opinion we cannot have spring football then turn around and have fall football. What if a junior gets an ACL tear in May then they are done. It’s too hard to turn around. The best idea and it sucks is football witho...
