Also Coach Bentley says they are adding a new section of bleachers to Varsity with chair backs to increase capacity for their matches. He says the ACC schools don’t like coming to Boone because of our match fan support

About what you would expect. Doug Gillen talked up the academic achievements across the entire athletics program. He also praised the three conference coaches of the year (field hockey, wrestling, and men’s basketball). Facilities continue to need upgrades. Said something about Charlotte getting a l...

Chris Rhodes
I just read that Chris Rhodes (Appsolutely) has recently passed. Chris was a long time Mountaineer supporter and he used to post frequently on this board. RIP Chris.

Re: Bowie and Eggers coming down
Back side of Eggers in 75-76. Massive amounts of snow that Winter. It was a long trudge across that parking lot after leaving the BI or Broome Kirk at night with frigid temperatures and a strong wind. There were some epic shouting matches with residents of Towers (Winklers).

This is sad. Thompson was a great guy, friendly and very approachable. His talent on the pitch was remarkable. We always had very large home crowds to watch those teams play. RIP Thompson

My dad spent nearly four years in the South Pacific serving in a Destroyer squadron. He got his release to come home right before Christmas and spent one last Christmas on a ship.

Re: App BoT approves renaming Hoey, Lovill dorms
I love history, and have studied it for most of my life. I have four great-great-granddad’s that were Confederate soldiers I hold no animosity against any of them. I’m sure they did what they felt they needed to do for their families. However, it’s been approximately 155 years and I wish we would qu...

11-2 and 13-1 over the last 2 seasons, just imagine how good we could have been if not for being “a little too soft”. Sustained success like we have had is just not that common. Enjoy it.

Re: Army - Navy this Saturday ---
Navy- my dad served on a destroyer in the Pacific during WWII. My niece graduated from the academy. I attended the Army/Navy game in 2016 in Baltimore. It was a brutally cold day and the Army won for the first time in several years. It was a fantastic experience that anyone who gets a chance to go t...
