Re: 2021 Schedule

So will a vaccine be a requirement to attend gatherings? Asking for a friend. I have wondered about this, but I think it would be too tough to manage for things like sporting events. I think they just wait until vaccinations hit a certain level and new cases drop low enough, and then just trust her...

Re: 2021 Schedule

Texas just reopened 100% today. Florida has been open. Multiple other states have slashed the vast majority of their restrictions. We are stuck with King Cooper...here’s to hoping other states continue to open and the pressure mounts on our governor. GO APPS!! Those states have also had thousands m...

Re: 2021 Schedule

It looks like Coastal and Louisiana are bearing the brunt/gaining the notoriety with the weeknight games with three each ( we have two ). No weeknight games for Texas State, ULM, so it appears that the conference is looking to feature its "best" teams: Copied this from Raginpagin.com ESPN Midweek S...

I get a Wed game now and then, but Tues, wth. There is no reason for this. Logistically or tv wise
It is because of tv though basically.
Right, the reason is that ESPN would like content for their networks on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Re: 2021 Schedule

What are the odds that Cooper will allow more than 50% for home games this fall? I put it at less that 20% Killer schedule. Can’t. Wait. Not to go down the rabbit hole, but... If we are still limiting attendance I’ll lose my mind. Numbers are going down, treatments are better, we’ve got vaccines. A...

Re: 2021 Schedule

There is basically no bad news in this schedule. One home and one road weeknight game (plus ECU, which we knew) was the absolute minimum we were going to get. No short weeks. My one complaint is that Coastal Carolina gets 13 days between games before they play us, while we get eight and our previous...

Depends on us. If everyone masks, distances and gets their shot when they are eligible, we could be in pretty good shape by then.

Re: 2021 Schedule

Some good coming with it fans will be happy about. Some bad but not surprising as well. Wow, bold prediction sir. You'll see. Something fans have been clamoring for since we got into the Sun Belt is going to happen. And week night home games are still a bad, but not surprising, thing. I'm sure. I a...

Re: FCS Spring Season Megathread

I’m seeing lots of attrition in the SoCon. Almost every team is 1-1. Except for Western, they are 0-2 as they should be. Stumbled on a few minutes of both of wcu’s games. They are abysmal. GO APPS!! They're looking pretty rough, no doubt. I'm afraid the end of the line may be fast approaching for C...

Re: ECU FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS

Mike Houston historically has had his teams ready to roll in year three. I've seen this point a couple times, and I'm not quite sure what it refers to. His left Citadel after his second season there, and his third JMU team fell off a bit after a great first couple years. His third year at Lenoir-Rh...

Re: ECU FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS

If this were 2018-19, I'd have full confidence that we'd drag them up and down the field. More likely than not we'd have beaten them this year, but I doubt it would have been pretty. I think we'll be favored next year, but we really don't know how much ECU might improve in year 3 under Houston, nor ...

Re: Ga State game

I watched a good bit of it. Hung in there for the first half, made a quick burst coming out of the locker room to get within 4 early in the 2nd, then they answered to quickly push it back to double digits and controlled the rest of the way. Fifth straight loss, and it appears another season is slipp...

Re: MBB vs South Alabama (2/19 6pm & 2/20 4pm)

Man, it's been a while. Need to get at least a split this weekend. One would think our chances are better tomorrow than tonight (working off the rust, etc.), but who really knows?

Re: Notre Dame Transfer Jahmir Smith

So is Smith good? Did he do anything at ND? Nobody really knows how he will pan out. It’s great that our program is really at a P5 level as far as talent goes. I firmly believe that if you took the top 60 or so FBS programs and redid, say 6 conferences of 10 teams each App makes the cut while many ...

Pretty good list! Without looking up stats, Duck might have had a season or two worthy of consideration.

Re: 2021 Expectations...

When a podcast-led initiative is the most outreach the Yosef Club does to get small-scale regular donations, that's a problem. I've hammered the "getting value back" argument for Yosef Club for years, but the biggest response I get back is "it's not about getting anything back, it's about providing...
