We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates

As previously noted, I have major issues with the direction of college athletics, going well beyond unregulated pay-for-play and unlimited transfers (mostly falling under the broad umbrella of TV networks owning and operating the sports). Nonetheless, I'm glad to see App will once again have plenty ...

Re: FB Play By Play 2025

He did. I believe it was the year after he graduated. From what I heard, he was pretty green, understandably. Tended to talk about the players like his buddies (which, of course, they were) rather than a team he was covering. Perhaps the additional distance of being a few years removed would help hi...

Re: FB Play By Play 2025

Ha, y'all are a tough crowd. David's a good guy who IMO does a good job with his site and on the air. My guess, though, is radio will probably stick with the time-honored formula of a professional broadcaster on PbP and a former App player on color.

Re: Doeren Scared of App State?

Of course he doesn't want to play but let us just break down a few of his points just because it is the off season it is always a sore subject for our fans. Let me bypass the obvious excuse because "the commissioner said so" and just focus on his points. The reasoning behind not wanting to play a G...

Re: Boone Restaurants Closing

Put me down as another vouch for Betty's. We went there for brunch when we were in town last summer. Good food and service.

Also, while we're talking breakfast spots, it warms my heart to see Boone Bagelry still doing their thing. Made a stop there last visit as well.

Those that picked App doing well last season did not anticipate that our running back would go to Missouri either.

Noel entered the transfer portal before our 2023 season was even over and committed to Mizzou the first week of January '24.

Re: Boone Restaurants Closing

Man... that sucks about Red Onion. And I feel a little personally guilty because I rarely went there. I lived three of my four years in school virtually right across the street and only went once or twice. BUT, my family and I found ourselves in need of a quick pregame meal last year and went there,...

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates

What was even more crazy was all the talk of lock in to Sun Belt champs much less New Years Bowl contender. I don't argue replacing the coach but that bar was a pipedream. Gillin literally cited competing for a New Years Bowl as a goal in his announcment firing Clark. I conducted a 2024 Sun Belt pr...

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates

And look, I'm not saying winning and losing doesn't matter. Of course it does. On-field success always correlates with fan interest, pretty much everywhere. I'm just saying, don't use that as an excuse to dismiss people's feelings about the ways college sports have transformed over the past few years.

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates

I’m told that a handful of Yosef Club season ticket holders have checked out due to the “pay for play” situation. I’m hanging in perhaps being hopeful that a meaningful resolution can be reached. That’s now , subject to change of course. I'm in the same boat. I've got my season tickets renewed, but...

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates

And I do think that's a big factor for people. If it were just about one down year, why didn't we see a dropoff following the 6-6 season a couple years ago? Because that year had Texas A&M, College Gameday and the Hail Mary. 2024 had nothing near those highs. 2024 was supposed to be the year. You g...

Re: Gillin said we're gonna play Western in football soon

I’m old enough to remember the Can’tamount fans claiming they will never come to Boone for football. Look forward to hosting them for tailgate. There’s a guy on their board, absolutely losing his mind. Apparently we are the lowest form of human on earth. Even went so far as to say Boone needs to be...

Re: Gillin said we're gonna play Western in football soon

I don't care one way or the other about playing Western, but yes we should expect to blow them out, as we should any FCS opponent we schedule. And it's not a rivalry game anymore. Bring out the old jug if you must. But if we have a rivalry with an FCS team, then something is very wrong with our prog...

Re: Gillin said we're gonna play Western in football soon

On the Josh Graham Show today. Said Athletics is about to announce it. I know they are in NC but they don't have a big brand name, they don't travel well, and this should be a blowout win for us every time. We really don't need to play them but if we are going to we better only play them in Boone a...

In this new environment we may need to find a word other than Committed to describe to describe a players intentions.
Think that ship sailed 15-20 years ago. Football "commitments" were more like reservations well before NIL.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF

There is a difference between renegotiation and extortion. This dude threatened to sit out the playoff game unless they gave him more money. As much as I hate to say it, collective bargaining is the only solution to this. Absolutely. I don't know why people balk at that idea, at least in comparison...

If I am Joey Dimes, I am making contact to see if he can get paid and play somewhere else. You only got one more year left. Someone else may pay him that needs a QB after spring practice. 2 comments here. 1. Why are we worried about it? He is the UCLA QB. We have our own QBs and we should support t...

Re: Rays potentially moving to raleigh/carter Finley complex

Listen....The whole idea of baseball in Raleigh is rediculous. First off the most notable minor league team in all of sports is just down the road and they don't sell out every night. Secondly, Raleigh and all the required parties won't get their act together and be on the same page to get a stadiu...
