Re: Challenge for next week

Coastal sucks. Don't have to assume, just look at their results. Doesn't ensure we'll play well against them, of course. When we were in transition we sucked too, until we didn't and went on a tear. Don't think CCU isn't looking at us the same way we did Troy after our embarrassing loss to FCS Libe...

Re: Challenge for next week

I still believe that this year's App team is capable of winning in a big way, but for whatever reason we just haven't shown it. It's a frustrating season to be sure, but we're winning and the games are most certainly exciting. I think some are way too dismissive of "weaker" opponents just because w...

Re: Summers Stays at GASO

I think it's pretty darn cataclysmic in Statesboro. Have heard suggestions it goes beyond just losing games too. Does anyone have a link to this statement? Not sure I'd put much weight in it if it's just the standard midseason vote of confidence. There currently is no "mid season statement". This i...

Re: Injuries?

The weird thing is that while the playcalling does make me wonder if Lamb is healthy, when he has gotten to throw it he generally looks pretty good. So I don't know.

But I do know you don't sit him if he can go. Let's leave the OOC tanking to A-State.

Re: Challenge for next week

Guys CCU is a bad team and they beat UMass by 10 our opponent in two weeks. If we struggle to run the ball and put those teams away in the first quarter it will be a bad sign the rest of the way. Let's not prop up our opponents to make us feel better. This team can be very good, see the Wake game a...

Re: Magic

That's a positive angle. I would argue it's not really magic to dominate teams for a half or a quarter that we used to dominate for entire games.

But yes, hope the team can start faster in future games.

Re: UL v Texas State

They're a bad team, WV. They've been bad in literally every game they've played this season before AND after us (not to mention all of last season too). They're not getting blown out every week just because they came up a yard short against us. We just had a bad night, which is obvious now. Thankful...

Would it be overkill to make yet another joke about Texas State being "much improved"? It would? Ah screw it, I'll do it anyway.

Re: App v GS rivalry needs a trophy

Different brands are built different ways. Oregon and Boise State do things differently than, say, Alabama. But they all have strong brands. For that matter, I wonder how many different combos of orange/purple/white Clemson has worn the past couple years? I know one thing: I'll take our brand over S...

Re: App v GS rivalry needs a trophy

You know what would "help our brand? Getting away from the uniform/helmet of the week mentality that we have now. That big white block A on the black helmet and those black uniforms was our brand and became known. I have no problem with a special uniform for one game a year, but you have to protect...

Re: App v GS rivalry needs a trophy

I'm surprised at the response. I did not realize so much of our fan base thought the idea was so lame. The jug seemed to be fun for the player, coaches, and the fans. It also seems that the best rivalries in college football have something similar at stake. I guess I misread the level of interest. ...

Re: South Ala and Troy

It's a 10 hr. drive to Mobile from Lenoir. The USA game might be worth the trip this year. It could be for the SB championship. For those fans traveling down there this year, there is the best restaurant down there. Felix's. It's on the causeway, near the tunnel to downtown. Looks like an old shack...

Re: South Ala and Troy

Remember Troy followed up their win over us last year by losing 35-3 at home to stAte. At least then they had the short week as an excuse.

Maybe Brown is better at getting his team up for the big ones than keeping them focused for the rest.

Re: App v GS rivalry needs a trophy

I think the reason nothing ever happens is that there's not much support for the idea beyond a few message board posters, and the ideas for the trophy are always something lame like a teacher's paddle.
