Re: Friday Night Lights at Wake in 2020

This smells like ESPN at work I'll say: "Wake Forest Associate Athletic Director of Athletic Communications Steve Shutt confirmed the move of the game to a Friday instead of the usual Saturday on Aug. 15. He received word of the move Aug. 14. Shutt was not given a reason why the move was made." Obv...

Re: App Finishes Out 2020 Schedule

As for GW and whichever FCS we're playing in 2020 (I've already forgotten and don't care enough to scroll up) - they get a paycheck and we get a home game against a sacrificial lamb. Personally I'm fine with it.

Re: App Finishes Out 2020 Schedule

I didn’t say that schools in Florida DID look at us that way, just that they might. So playing Wyoming made sense to you? Playing a UMass is an easy way to expand the footprint. They are between some areas heavily populated with athletes with limited options in the north. Many of them would go sout...

Re: App Finishes Out 2020 Schedule

A FCS, and especially one against a MEAC team, is an easy buyout. I have no problem with it. Gotta have somebody to offset the game at Wisconsin. Personally I'd rather buy out UMass. Why would you rather buy out UMass? Like an FCS game, they're bad enough that beating them does nothing for us. Unli...

Re: Field Access

I've taken my son out there on Sunday morning a few times and it's awesome. My understanding is that as long as school is in session, the gate is normally left open.

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

Since Mack Brown left for Texas, how many UNC head coaches have left for better jobs? And by better jobs, I mean P5 with football history. Seems like a lot of coaches have gone there and haulted their ascension in the coaching ladder. You could argue that Sat is better, but UNC is a basketball scho...

Re: No 9 for coach leaving

Satt gave a strong hint in a recent interview that he may have turned down a P5 job to stay in Boone. He said, paraphrasing " three of our coaches turned down P5 offers this year because they like what we are doing here." Was he one of them? We do not know. But he does love Boone and his son is sta...

Re: Ticketing Question

Also, to answer your actual question - besides all the normal secondary sites, this board has a ticket exchange that typically has people selling for any home game. But all the normal secondary market sites are good options too.

Re: Ticketing Question

You can generally get better seats on the East side. (The lower half of the West side is student seating.) But definitely heed Daphne's words about sun vs. shade. If cold weather is a deterrent, I'd avoid anything later than the Oct. 20 game (ideally one of the three September home games). If you wa...

Re: Yosef Club Raleigh Stop

Looks like it was a packed house. How did y'all like it? Good food? Nice space? Enough contact with / access to athletics folks / coaches? Food was fine; coaches, staff and athletes were plenty accessible. I wouldn't say the bank was an ideal venue. Limited seating and table space. It was a good cr...

Re: Starting QB

I didn't know Coach Woody either but it is my understanding his style of management was very "inclusive." That is a good thing for transition and consistency. I love the confidence of a DC saying this will be our best unit ever but if we achieve that coming off the turnover we have to replace in th...

Re: Starting QB

Heard from a defensive coach that this will be the best defensive team we have ever had... that is pretty exciting to think about. He Also said he thought Thomas be be fine. He took what the defense was giving him, made smart decisions and if nothing was open, he could tuck it and run. Hopefully if...

Live by the 3, die by the 3. Ask the Houston Rockets.
Or die because your all-star point guard went down with an injury and missed the last two games of the series after you had the best record in the league and built a 3-2 lead against an all-time superteam.

Re: Starting QB

 I like Brown a lot and thought he’d have a real chance to win the job. Sounds like Thomas really stepped up and separated himself from the group before much of a competition ever really developed. My impression is that Satt is pretty confident in him.
