Re: UNC favored by Vegas -3.5

Before you all think that over is such easy money, perhaps focus less on the App-UNCC final and consider that the totals in UNC’s three games have been 44, 53 and 42.

Re: Criteria for assigning seats for UNC game

What I’ve wondered about is how YC will determine which seats are “best” for this game. Those front few rows are terrible in Kenan because the seats come down to ground level. I’d hate to be a high-level donor and be “rewarded” by having to stare at our players’ backs all afternoon.

Re: Corey Sutton

Honest question: Can someone explain how "university policy" factors in here? Sutton is a student in good standing, correct? I saw pictures of him volunteering at a local elementary school just today. I have been under the impression all along that the head football coach is the one determining wha...

Re: UNC @ Wake (9/13)

Can't really see what Wake is doing with their coverage but they're clearly confusing Howell in a way that South Carolina and Miami weren't able to.

Re: UNC @ Wake (9/13)

There is no way a beatdown like this is good for App’s chances next week. They are also taking some injuries, though. Yes it is. So much tape. Wake is laying our blueprint out rn I agree there are some things App can learn from the game. Was speaking more to the UNC team’s focus level. This is clea...

Re: SI writer refers to Appalachian State as “Tune up game” for UNC

Tune up - ArkySt UGA -32.5 http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/ That's why we are considered a tune up or buy a win, when our level is supposed to get boat raced by the top teams. Georgia would probably be about a 20-point favorite over UNC, and we'd be a double-digit favori...

I was talking to a WF graduate (former judge) yesterday about WF and App being referred to as warm up games for UNC. His response:

"You do realize that journalism is one of the primary majors at Carolina."
The author is a Michigan grad.

Re: Son Of Liberty or Liberty U. Part2

I lost interest in that thread, so I don’t know what people said. The thing is, though... Falwell is an overtly political figure. Unless you’re strictly keeping your discussion to on-the-field stuff, it’s really tough to talk about Liberty without talking Falwell, and it’s tough to talk Falwell with...

Re: SI writer refers to Appalachian State as “Tune up game” for UNC

Honestly, while I think fans have a few legitimate reasons for concern based on our team's first couple games, getting the team sufficiently motivated for this next game would not be on the list for me.

Re: SI writer refers to Appalachian State as “Tune up game” for UNC

I have seen the Wake game referred to as a non conference game on several occasions since they are in different divisions. It's not because they're in different divisions (those are still conference games). It's because it isn't part of the ACC schedule, but was scheduled by the schools the same wa...

Re: SI writer refers to Appalachian State as “Tune up game” for UNC

The Wake game is actually a nonconference game, but there's no way that's what he meant. Nobody thinks OOC games don't matter in college football. The writer honestly just seems a little... out there. I was all ready to be offended on App's behalf, but it seems more like he's just wildly optimistic ...

Re: Quit yer bitchin'

It is too bad we did not pony up the money to pay Brown. He was our biggest loss. Pay him for what job, DC? Certainly there was no way he was staying in that role for us once Satt asked him to come to UL. Brown probably makes as much as Drink now. I thought we should have asked Brown to interview f...

Re: Sagarin Ratings

One way to settle this. Bring 'em to The Rock and see what they got. I would love that. They scare the hell out of me and would be arguably the only FCS team you could play that would bolster your strength of schedule. I also think it’d get some decent attention nationally. The two schools that hav...

If GS wins the East or the Conference after that beating, the conference reputation momentum will take a hit.
Probably true, but nothing could be worse than stAte going 0-4 with an FCS loss OOC and then winning a share of the league title.

Facts are we haven’t beaten a P5 team in over a decade and NDSU has done it 5 times. I’m tired of hearing the excuses. Good for NDSU, they deserve the accolades they’ve received and it makes us look petty to argue they shouldn’t be considered. How many of us were elated to get AP votes after the Mi...

Re: AP Poll: App still ahead of UNC

So? Good for Boise. You’re suggesting App isn’t worthy, which is fine and your opinion... and we’ll see how things play out the next few weeks. But your earlier post suggesting “one voter” was the reason App was higher than other teams, such as UNC, is factually inaccurate. At this stage, App has a...
