Re: Hold on to your hats ….

The students cared enough about the tunnels that App State Police have been seen constantly around them. This was after Everts called the pushback "insignificant." Well, I pushed back inasmuch as I wrote her a polite email explaining my disagreement with the plan. I guess I already knew she felt my...

Re: Hold on to your hats ….

Am I the only person who couldn’t care less about the free expression tunnels? Feels like I’m in the minority, but I truly don’t care one way or the other. If we are being honest, they could be an eyesore at times. I'm sure you're not the only one. Speaking for myself, I found them to be an memorab...

Re: Hold on to your hats ….

This may not be PC but I don’t want a Woke Chancellor like Harvard. I do want proper balance between academics and athletics. Students need to feel safe while attending App State and focus on preparing themselves for professional life in the real world. I want a leader that provides all that and do...

Portal again. The portal giveth and taketh away.
Could've seen that one coming. I was really surprised he got another FBS offer, given how unimpressed our staff apparently was with him, plus I don't think he played the best HS competition.

Re: Hold on to your hats ….

Referring to Everts stepping down? Just got email newsletter where she informed UNC System President she is stepping down! She was forced to do this but they let her save face here. I had heard this would happen in May or June so this is an early gift! Now we need to get a pro athletics chancellor....

Re: Second ever App state game

Good tips here ^. I would add that if you're looking to buy direct from App, check the public on-sale date for single-game tickets and be online right when they go on sale. If you get stuck buying from Stubhub etc., expect to pay scalper prices. If I could recommend one siteseeing thing, it would pr...

Re: Calipari to Arkansas

And then the other part is, he still had good teams, they were just on a really bad run in March the last few years. UK fans were understandably upset with that, but part of me thinks it was just a fluky stretch that would have evened out eventually. If you have good teams consistently, eventually y...

Re: Calipari to Arkansas

Probably not good for Kentucky, trouble usually follow Calipari’s exit school after he leaves. That was back when it was possible to get in trouble with the NCAA. Honestly, IMO the story of Cal's UK tenure is that he was way ahead of the curve in working with Nike to buy OAD recruits. Then Duke got...

Re: NIT

Yeah it's too easy to criticize the committee after a perceived bad or average team loses early but in the case of Virginia the consensus was that they were really not good and that their lack of any offense was going to get them quickly. Did those guys really think that against better competition ...

Re: Angel steps down as WBB coach

Like both of you, I just hope she's healthy. I'm a little concerned that the release doesn't say that she is, because surely they know people will wonder. I don't know her personally, but I did chat with her for a few minutes at a YC event a few years back, and found her to be engaging and genuine. ...

Considering they let in Xavier at 16-17 it would have been a joke if we were not
Would be nice for Xavier to beat Georgia and we get to host in the second round.
It would be, but I wouldn't assume or expect we would host that game.

Re: NIT

UVA - Lowest NET at-large - 54 Indiana St - highest NET left out - 29 That is straight up bullshit. Cooking the books for the Prig5 conferences. I literally stopping streaming off P+ as soon as I saw that. They know exactly when they lost me as a viewer. Man, they let in six teams from the Mountain...

Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks

Pitt and Wake wind up with the 4 and 5 seeds in the ACC Tournament, which means if Wake wins their first game (which is far from assured considering it would require winning a game away from their home floor), they'd play each other in the quarterfinals. Might be a de facto NCAA elimination game. Al...

Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks

JMU has done one thing to warrant a look, which was beat a 12-loss Big Ten team four months ago in the first game of the season. Other than that, every game they have played has been Q3 or Q4 except the two against us, both of which they lost. They have played 21 Q4 games and lost one of those too, ...

Early Scores of Interest: FAU-92 Memphis-84 Memphis was on the bubble watch, got to think they have played their way out of the Tourney. Memphis NET is 71, 2 behind App. So you feel safe about being ahead of Memphis. They just need to lose in the Conference Tourney. St. Johns- 86 GTown-78. ST. John...

Re: MBB vs SoAla/GaSo winner, Satuday, March 9, 12:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt Qt

There's a reason the regular season winner in many one bid conferences fails to win their conference tournament. The pressure is immense given what the regular season champ has accomplished. Knowing they can't afford a slip up puts the pressure squarely on the top seed. Perhaps this won't affect ou...

Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks

Oregon St beating Utah last night was certainly helpful for JMU's edge case. They could very well pass Utah in the Net Rankings with today's update. They could still pretty conceivably move up to a Quad 2 loss if they can grab another win or two. You would've thought so, with the added benefit of t...

Re: Basketball Scores of interest Final 2 weeks

Seton Hall and Nova are both in already. Prior to that game, Joe Lunardi and Jerry Palm both had Seton Hall in the play-in round. Even after that win, they are 63 in the NET. Also prior to the game, Lunardi had Nova as one of his last four byes, while Palm had them out entirely. Now, I would argue ...
