16–36 on 3 pointers didn’t hurt either.

Re: new oc
Really like this hire, for all the reasons stated. Welcome back Frank! And kudos to Clark for closing on a hire that might've seemed out of our reach to most people (including me).

Re: new oc
If I were putting money on someone without choices I would say Frank Ponce. You should be in Vegas nothing wrong with Ponce if true, i'm sure he can/will be successful, but I was kind of hoping for someone outside of the App family. I think our offense needs a fresh look. Obviously we are purpose b...

Sure, the team was great with these, but they're AWFUL Ha, I thought they were good for that time. Definitely dated now. They were just one ...

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs
Honestly can't understand how people watch these blowouts year after year and conclude that we need MORE teams in the playoff. If they expand the play-offs there will be only one reason. Money. The rationale for expanding the playoffs is not based on the competitiveness for #1. It has to do with pr...

FWIW, the convention (like pretty much all conventions at the moment) was virtual this year. Not sure how that might affect the networking component.appstate24 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:15 pmWith the coach’s convention in Nashville ending today, I wonder if we might hear something soon?

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs
Honestly can't understand how people watch these blowouts year after year and conclude that we need MORE teams in the playoff. Parity increases as 5⭐️ California kids stay in California as the PAC12 now has a guaranteed spot in the playoff. Less talent is concentrated at 2 or 3 schools in the south...

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs
Honestly can't understand how people watch these blowouts year after year and conclude that we need MORE teams in the playoff. Jimbo's team already got boat-raced by Bama once. We didn't need to see it happen again. I know some people argue that expanding the playoff would lead to more parity but I ...

Re: AP#26
Honestly pretty generous, and partly a reflection of some conferences playing limited schedules. 2018 absolutely was a more successful year and just a better team. Still appreciate the recognition, though.

Re: Alabama businessman approach
I noticed Alabama had 464 yards passing and 157 yards running Is that new formula for success? You're looking at the wrong numbers. 45 pass attempts to 38 rush attempts. Pretty balanced by today's era standards. The fact that the yardage favored the pass by about 75% says more about the skill of th...

Re: Transfer Portal
I dislike this transfer portal. I hate it for a kid that "has given his all" for App and then be benched from a transfer. I can’t think of a single example of this happening, at least in the FBS era, and I doubt it would be very common at all unless you are including guys who already weren’t starti...

Re: new oc
Jerry Moore turns 82 years old this year. I get nostalgic sometimes too, but LORD. True, we need some young blood. Probably better to bring back Chris Moore instead. App Guy with a championship pedigree. Make it happen Shawn! Hoping this is a joke. Definitely need someone that can help our young QB...

Yeah this just feels destined to be another split. Who knows though, maybe the last game will be a turning point.

Re: new oc
After some enhanced due diligence on the lad, I am going to retract my previous statement and say that he doesn't check all the boxes. He only has a couple of years as a QB coach which I don't expect to be enough for CSC. Secondly, he runs a spread offense. We are a running team and I don't know th...

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs
IMO if you opt out, all your individual stats are eliminated from team record books, you become ineligible for school’s hall of fame, no conference championship or bowl rings and you agree to payback your scholarship. Bottom line finish the drill. So, pretend the player never existed because you're...

He sees it as a potential solution for the growing trend of top players opting out of non-playoff bowl games. I believe Brown is highly respected in college football so I hope his opinion carries some weight. Mack Brown reportedly calls for playoff expansion amid opt-outs https://247sports.com/coll...

This thread needs to get back to its intended purpose: name-dropping every 20-something former App player and every elderly high school coach in NC to be in charge of our offense next year.
