Re: MLS to Charlotte

Seems ridiculous not to use the BofA stadium. Makes total sense to get some additional usage from the facility. Agree. Jerry underutilized BofA to the extreme. Never understood that. Tepper intends to do the opposite. Amenities, games, concerts, beer festivals, and possibly MLS. He's even flirted w...

Re: MLS to Charlotte

Taking away the upgrade factors, and only speaking to fan experience, D.C. United games at Audi Field are way better than R.F.K. Charlotte doesn't have the largest market, and being an expansion team outside of your own region can be tough. Give the fans and potential players a nice facility to exc...

Why would Tepper lease to play at Memorial when he owns BofA?

Has anyone stayed at the Horton or gone to the rooftop bar? Heading up this weekend for a fishing trip and tossing around the idea of some rooftop bourbon one night.

Re: Shooting at UNC Charlotte

I think it's worth noting that the Las Vegas shooter was a baby boomer, which is now the deadliest shooting in the US. This is not an age, race, country, or religion issue. This is a human issue. Young, old, black, white, rich, poor, Christian, Muslim, American, and international. And it's nothing n...

Re: Shooting at UNC Charlotte

Terrible news. It has been a very violent year in CLT so far. 4 murders now in the last 24 hours. 2 on South Blvd and 2 at UNCC. We will exceed last years homicide rate by July. This is insane.

Re: MBB: Welcome Coach Dustin Kerns

Why not take a proven product that has expressed a desire to come to App over a startup with an extremely limited track record? Seems like a major gamble. We were blessed to have a quality coach like Lutz want to come to our dismal program, and we pass. I don't understand this one. Something profoun...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

If it is Lutz this coaching search has been vastly different than the football coaching search. Both are old State assistance coaches. Sarcasm I assume? No I was serious. The football coaching search was one of the most tight-lipped D-1 acquisitions I've ever heard of. Before Drink was announced he...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

very bizarre interview. It seems like either there has been a lot of communication or not a lot, and he is trying to make a last ditch plea. Either way it strikes me as odd as these guys usually play things a lot closer to the vest. They play things a lot closer to the vest, when they already have ...

If it's going to happen, today should be the day. There is little time to waste with the firing and hiring season about to begin.

Re: New Hire

Okay, let's assume it's 200k to buy him out. Fox is making 260k a year but started at 200k. I would assume our new coach would be in the same salary neighborhood. Let's say 230k per. If you divide the buyout by the number years for the new coaches contract, assumed to be 4, that would give you a new...

Re: New Hire

Go one more year with Fox and just don't let him offer any scholarships? An lame duck season and recruiting year? Probably is best. Put the money in women's basketball, Field Hockey, men's baseball, softball where we are rising. I get that, but doesn't this send the wrong message to potential new p...

Jason Allison would probably be the first choice of the administration. Just a guess. DG needs to clean house. I appreciate our current staff, but it's time. Perhaps. Sometimes it’s not the message that’s the problem, it’s the messenger. Allison is well respected from what I hear. If that's the cas...

Almost two months since our last home game, and a tree has been cut down. They better get moving. We have some big games coming up in Boone and need to have this construction behind us.
