Re: Today's BOT Meeting 6.21.18

Glad to hear Sanford Hall is being renovated. That building was in bad shape in 1999.

I hope they do something to the facade as well, being a focal point at the end of Sanford Mall

Re: New campus housing project moving forward

Yeah, the doom and gloom might be a little exaggerated. At the end of the day the BOD has the final say on design, not the developer, right? Someone was making it seem like the P3 model hands over control to the developer. We simply have to grow and the state is not going to help. Just make it look ...

Re: New campus housing project moving forward

The new housing will need to be built before the old housing is demolished. I'm assuming that's why the design shows all the new house in the middle and parking on the perimeter. I'm not sure how else it could be done. At least take the parking deck from the back corner of the site. It will be inter...

Re: New campus housing project moving forward

Two thoughts

This plan is conceptual.

If we want our university to grow it will need to be via P3. Nothing happens if we wait around for state funding.

Re: Penn St Opens as 25pt fav

I’m going to go with filling Woodys shoes first. That security of knowing we would make adjustments in game and not allowing teams anything had me spoiled. Penn state will be no joke. These games always have me fooled. I thought we would lose to UT by over 21 and we take them to overtime. I thought...

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

Hate to break it to them but UNCC for me and alot of my friends at the time in Charlotte, NC, was a school you went to when you did not get in any where else. They were and still are a weekend suit case school. I am from Charlotte and got accepted to UNCC but went to ASU. Best decision I could have...

Re: 2020 Home Opener Scheduled

Wonder how season ticket sales will be affected the next three seasons. Not the greatest home ooc schedule. No major game to encourage people to buy. The only encouragement I need is a Saturday in Boone watching my Mountaineers play. Right. You, me, and probably most on this board. A season ticket ...

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

Any Yosef volunteers (Daphne?) know how many reserved and GA seats UNCC gave our ticket office? I asked that question when renewing my Yosef membership. I was told 2,000. I really want to crush these guys. I went over on Niner Nation to see what is being said about ticket sales, and the amount of s...

You can't complain about poor ticket sales and a poor atmosphere, then turn around and complain about a buzz worthy regional opponent buying up your tickets.

Re: Roll Call- UNC-Harrisb...errr I mean UNC-Charlotte

Got 4! They are really sweating ticket sales over on Niner Nation. They already have a link to this thread, and are pleading with their ticket office to vet App fans trying to buy tickets. Some are requesting fans buy ticket to give away to other UNCC fans. That's pathetic. If you can't sell out you...

Does Boone control the name to Stadium Drive? I assume so as it runs through not only through campus but residential areas as well That may not be a decision for the AD, at least not directly.
I imagine it would have to be a meeting of the minds.

Rename Stadium St. "Jerry Moore Championship Drive." Also rename Stadium Parking "Coach Jerry Moore Stadium Parking area."
Good luck putting that on a street sign. Jerry Moore Dr would be fine.

Rename Stadium Drive Jerry Moore Drive and start a ring of honor ( like the Panthers) and put his name on the 50 facing the West Stands
I like the street idea as well as the statue. Unfortunately we need to keep naming rights open for donors willing to write a check.

Re: Light Rail to UNCC

The Charlotte-based media do have a habit of skewing things based on location. If a triple homicide happens in Charlotte, it's no big deal if it happens in certain neighborhoods. If an App students gets lost in the woods for 2 hours, ledes start with "a small mountain community was rocked by traged...

Re: Light Rail to UNCC

The pearl-clutching going on in this thread is something else, man. I ride the light rail and have never seen these groups of criminals. Yeah, I don't know about groups of criminals on the lightrail. Been on it many times with no issue. However, crime on and around UNCC's campus is very real and we...

Re: Light Rail to UNCC

The latest stats I've seen suggested only approximately half of UNCC's students live on or near campus. Will the lightrail attract more student to live in the area, or will they live in Noda or Southend and take the rail to class? Rent might be too high in these areas. Time will tell. This is huge f...

Re: App and South Carolina Schedule Series

We were able to convince WFU and UNC after Miami agreed. Hopefully this will open doors for more SEC opportunities. No reason why UK or Vandy would now not consider, other than they are scared.
