Re: Eric Boggs Edition [Black & Gold Podcast]

Good stuff! Dale Jones don't get enough credit with the D! You can tell Boggs has tons of respect for DJ.

Here's a tweet from Chip Smith on Boggs' training... Colby and Beau are training at the same facility with him.

I’m sorry, Hanson is not a better QB than TL
I think Hanson is more talented overall, but he just simply quit last night on that final drive!

Re: Updated Bowl Projections

Seems to be some thought around our athletic dept. that thinks we are Nola bound with a win Saturday. Should clear up before we play. The sunbelt will probably communicate some of the pecking order during the week.

Re: Boggs is a Beast

We seem to develop a stud LB or two each year Last year Law, Gilcrest, Stringer and Boggs. This year Boggs, Stringer and Flory. Next year Flory and ?????? I don't think most people realize how necessary it is to have LB's that can make the calls in this defense. That will hurt as much as anything n...

Re: Boggs is a Beast

It's bad, but a great individual performance is kinda washed away by a loss. I'm sure Boggs would say the same! He played his butt off though!

Boggs running down the speedster on 4th down is my play of the game, that was a game changer.
Yep... Game saver for sure!

I am still amazed at why people who take the time to come to a college football game, walk out with the score tied. Someone help me understand these people!

Re: Why not?

Pizza... I'm totally in agreement with you! We choked on the decisions there at the end! Somewhere you have to lay it all on the line and go win a game! That's 2 huge games the last 2 years that we played it close to the vest, and neither turned out the right way! It's the play to win, rather than p...

Re: Gold helmets this week

isn't that logo actually an ESPN product? I'm not sure what the rule would be about App wearing that logo but my guess is we see an actual "official" logo. Any logo would belong to us I would think. ESPN wouldn't have rights to a school logo. Also it's amazing to me how much chatter is created when...

Re: My honest outsiders view of this App State team

Hard for you to do a real assessment without looking at both sides of the ball. I think if we get to Eason early and force a couple of turnovers, this game gets very interesting. It's not like the dawgs offense is tried and true. I look for our D to confuse your OL to some degree. The determining fa...

Moose, so you're saying that Malone, Greer, etc... those guys not even in the mix enough to get some PT in some of the lopsided games? Surprised if that's the case.

Yep! Pretty much non existent nowadays. Other schools are making us look like Div. II. Sad we can't get someone with some passion for this department.

Re: 45 DAYS!!!!

Grades right now are all over the board. Anywhere from middle to late rounds, to a priority free agent on Boggs. Big year, don't be shocked to see his stock rise to the top third of the draft. He has a lot of the intangibles like arm length, good hips, and coverage ability that gets overlooked somet...

Re: Athlon's All-conference Team

Kinda surprised at that too. Bet there's not another conference in the country that has 3 OL from the same team on preseason all-conference. The other odd thing is Gibbs being listed as 1st team D. He's not going to even be on the team. Why is Gibbs not going to be on the team? Did he graduate, tra...
