Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Mantis to Maine. This blows my mind -- kid has 1 year to play, from Indiana and going to go to Maine.... Why Why Why? Where will his degree be from App or Maine? No Indiana school wanted this kid??? Mantias, Harcum, Brown and Marsh leaving makes 0 sense unless there is something more that we do not...

I hope there’s no drop dead time on this game. Don’t know when the last Tweetsie train leaves for Johnson City.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Was he a problem? Not happy with minutes I assume? He was a PG, a Freshman PG at that, and led the team in shots taken per minute played. He put up .46 shots per minutes played. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but the next highest was .37. Gregory was .33 per minute for comparison. Many of them ill ...

This is slightly off-topic, but I enjoy when the cameras show the "chainsaw starting" motion when our kids hit doubles.

Re: Hold on to your hats ….
We are so much alike, JMU really should be our main rival. We need to get a named trophy going. And unlike the Old Mountain Jug this trophy would be a more equal matchup. To steal one from Lewis Grizzard about Clemson and Auburn — James Madison is really just Appalachian with an interstate. They al...

On the same weekend we appoint our interim chancellor, who is a graduate of JMU, the Dukes appoint Charlie King as interim president. King received his undergraduate and master’s from [drum roll] Appalachian State. https://www.jmu.edu/news/2024/04/19-leadership-changes.shtml We are so much alike, J...

App takes the series with a 12-3 victory in a battle of field goals (or two Rubino extra point misses).

Wouldn’t mind a few more wins by a football score this weekend. At the rate they’re going, they’ll be throwing short stops in relief by tomorrow evening.

First action should be to name Uncle Ken Chancellor Emeritus. I don’t see why that can’t be done posthumously.

I think y'all might be celebrating a little too soon. Whether you agree or not, it's not fair to say that Everts was anti-athletcs. Instead, she was consistently pouring more money into athletics, something that she faced a ton of heat from from faculty across all programs. At the same time, we hea...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
Am I the only one that isn't going to pull for players when they leave App? I'm not rooting against them, but I don't feel any lingering ties to a player that transfer. I'll caveat that with the exception of grad transfers. Exactly. Even the caveat. After Donavan Gregory raised the bar for loyalty…...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

I wouldn’t be happy if they went to Duke, Wake or State, but I wouldn’t hope for their failure. Also depends on why they are leaving. For instance, in Xavion’s c...
