Re: 2024-25 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist

Lots of guards/wings so far. We need some portal or juco guys to complement Wilson and Marcus who can contribute immediately after losing Abson, Spillers, and Hayes.

Re: 2024-25 Roster Breakdown & Wishlist

Played HS ball with Huntley at Davidson Day. Perhaps he runs it back with him one more time?

Re: Spillers to Wake Forest

$150k plus anything he comes up with on his own. Yikes. We’re going to struggle. $150k for a bench player that hasn’t used his right hand at all last year? At a middle of the road ACC team. Wake seems desperate He brings lots of intangibles that coaches love. Offensive rebounds/putbacks, long arms ...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

I don't suspect that Kerns would leave for another Sun Belt school (JMU), but he sure seemed to have love for them in his postgame press conference when we played them up there. He went on and on about how great their facilities are and how they've "always been good" (not true). I could see Charlest...

Re: Who left first, players or coach Kerns?

Charleston job is now open. at least 1 mill a year salary. Big sport on campus. Back in SC. Keeps a tighter pulse on the Clemson job for one day. Lets be real his phone will ring about this job. seems like I remember hearing that Kerns talked to them a couple years ago before Kelsey landed the job.

Watch Abson go to Wake
Not near ACC caliber
I just saw Spillers list that has reached out to him. Wake is the only better team out of about 8. Grass ain’t always greener.
Where are you able to see schools that have reached out?

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

My question at this point is what job is Kerns taking? Makes you wonder... But I’d take Samford coach or Bob Richey at Furman. Getting ahead of ourselves, but need to pound the portal so we should have a backup plan. I thought when Richey stayed at Furman after being courted by S. Carolina that the...

Marsh gone.
Wow. Kerns has to be leaving at this rate and taking them all with him.
Cite your sources.

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

To me, this really sounds like Coach Kerns is leaving - wow, all of this is sucks I did find is strange that he didn't leave the Wake Forest postgame interview with the typical "Go Mountaineers, take the stairs" mantra that he normally does, but maybe I'm reading too far into it. I know he was piss...

thus far it appears that Ga State and Texas St are leading the sun belt with players entering the portal (high contributors as well)

I think we have a 3rd commit out of Seneca, SC. Point guard. Not sure if Scholarship or not.
and the Stanback kid out of Asheboro....6'6" and long. He doesn't show up on verbal commits for some reason.

Just took a closer look at the brackets. App has the second best record, Ind. St. has one more win and same number of losses. Only Princeton has fewer losses. Let's do this!!!! not to be the negative Nancy, but we also didn't play in the ACC, Big 12, SEC, etc WF is uber talented and will pose multi...

Re: MBB vs Arkansas State, Sunday, March 10, 6 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Pensacola Bay Center, Pensacola, Fla., Sun Belt semis

Do not understand "wasted season". Season not over. If we get NIT, when is the last time we were in NIT? It has been a minute or two Although the season is not over, when building a program, seasons like this make it a heck of a lot easier for coaching staff to get HS talent and transfer portal tal...

the way I see it is we have the toughest matchup we could have in the quarterfinals. Both USA and Southern took us to overtime this year, so they both think they can play with us. It's time to put those thoughts to bed.

I met Donovan one time after a game when my son wanted to take a picture. Abson is clearly a focus for the game planning of our opponents. He’s earned it.
He’s also missed some easy layups around the basket lately that he would normally convert.
