Maybe this is a negotiation tactic.
Kerns demands a BIG raise and if they meet it then all these guys on portal come back with him. If not, everybody is gone? Basically team union forcing school to up coaches salary or else.
Who knows? Does anybody have a better explanation?

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
When did a 4 yr scholarship become worthless? I thought that was the value ("compensation") that the student athlete received for participating in sports? 99+ percent of college athletes never make it to professional level so the MAIN reason a student plays is for the free education. That would curr...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
So as a followup question for discussion (that may create a firestorm)... In the new environment, how much emphasis should be placed on high school recruiting??? I think we should certainly avoid any high school kids that need developing but perhaps there is still a place for recruits that have the...

Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)
It seems to me college basketball has turned into a "pick up" game. We got our 5-8 players let's "run em" and we will re choose next year. I could see the fab four situation start showing up where a group get together and as a group sign NIL deals. That's exactly what I was thinking too, "pick up" ...

Re: March Madness
I think Duke had a wake up call from loss to State in ACC tournament and their early exist from NCAA last year. They played serious ball to win yesterday and would have been a hard matchup for anybody in tournament. It’s possible for them to take it all if they continue that level of play. JMU got c...

UGA shot 51% from 3 pt land
FYI, both teams had 17 FT attempts each
But any team hitting 14-27 3pt shots is going to be a hard team to beat.

My take: We have come a long ways this season. 1. All of the current results are a byproduct of Kerns building this program from the foundation. He had nothing when he arrived. He owns it all. I hope we can keep him. 2. I have said for a long time, if they build it the fans will come. Well this seas...

I am very surprised Joey is NOT in top 25 based on his numbers from last year.

Re: 1-AA 2.0
Not that it will singularly hurt but I refuse to watch another SEC or Big10 game and i cant be alone. With the power of social media the viewing public could send a shock wave to ESPN and the greedy P5 cartel. Not alone, but there won't be enough of you to make them notice, or care. I think there i...

Re: 1-AA 2.0
By Paul’s rules everybody outside the SEC and B1G are unworthy and undeserving of being allowed to compete in the CFP. That means ALL the ACC and Big12 along with G5 shouldn’t be included. His pool of worthy schools is quickly dwindling. His business model is just not viable. I know those two super ...

Re: MENS MID MAJOR TOP 3
We need to just win. We don’t have any reputation at this point to rely on and that is fair. Remember Gonzaga has been there numerous times so they do have a reputation. That is why it is good to be in that same discussion. It does mean something IMO.

Re: 5+7 model close to passing. G5 would still get screwed
I want to play 1 or 2 P’s each year. Not top 5 per se but would like a top 25 or two on our schedule. We need them and to beat them if we are really good enough to deserve CFP slot. I want App to be that good not because we slipped in the back door.

Let’s be honest, would we really want a couple G5 conf champs rated 40-60 be in CFP? I would not. You need to be in top 25 at least to deserve a spot in CFP.

I think I saw an ad in the newspaper this morning. “College football player wanted-experience playing center at the highest level of college football level. Must have demonstrated grit and drive in past play. Minimum 2 yrs experience. $29.99 per hour. Submit resume to Dartmouth College Head Coach”

[/b]time=1707152467 user_id=233] It's reached a point where QB3, 4, etc for good teams will either include new guys every season or the occasional pretty good player who is the consummate team guy who is content to fill the usual roles. Pretty much. We are getting Texas’ QB4 this year. McHugh hasn’...

Many of the teams below us in conf are not bad teams and are fully capable of taking us down so you gotta bring it every night or you will get beat.
