Re: NEZ Update Query

Is it just me, or is it possible leaving the track under the new hill would cause some drainage issues?

Re: Independence Bowl

I like the celebrations with the team, it's the showboating for the cameras that show no class. Yes, it was the Quick Lane Bowl not the Independence Bowl.

Re: Independence Bowl

Did everyone notice when Pitt made a great play and several players celebrated in the endzone like we did in our bowl the game. The refs slapped every player with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty meaning if any of them get another such penalty they would be out of the game. I love that. It's a tea...

Re: Field Upgrades

Thanks for the response. I figured I wasn't seeing something. Oh yeh, I was on the sideline in 77 too. Not such a good year (2 wins), but at least one of the wins was over Marshal.

Re: Field Upgrades

I usually go down on the field after games every year and I just don't recognize any (or very little) difference in the turf from the time it was first put down. I haven't noticed players slipping or seen rips in the turf or even a fading of the color. I was just curious as to what makes it worn out...

Re: Field Upgrades

I am a little confused about this. The turf we have was just put in a couple of years ago and I for one do not see any need for a new one. Can someone explain why we need to spend upwards of a million dollars on this? I have been down on the field and the turf seems fine. As a contributor to the ath...

Re: NOLA Roll Call

yes its close. I can easily cut that down to 5 minutes. The biggest question is if the train will be on time and I can't do anything about that. Well even if I am a little late I'll still be there.

Re: NOLA Roll Call

Opps…. I forgot about the time change. I was going by the Eastern Standard start time of 9:00. Better have my running shoes on. Hopefully I'll get to see most of it then. Thanks for the info.

Re: NOLA Roll Call

Provided the train is on time I will have 1 1/2 hour to get to the dome and buy my ticket. If the train is a little late then I should still be ok. If it is very late then maybe I will not get on it in Burmingham like I plan.

Re: NOLA Roll Call

Thanks for the input. I have been there before and I could easily kill many hours there but I was worried about the time line for security reasons. I will be by myself. The last time I was there we were approached by many homeless people looking for handouts and I didn't feel comfortable late at nig...

Re: NOLA Roll Call

I would love to go. Amtrak gets in at 7:30 Saturday night then leaves for a return trip at 7:00 the next morning. There would be no need for a hotel but I am a little nervous about being in the city from between 1 and 6 at night. Any suggestions?

Anybody thinking about going from the Tri-cities Tennessee area? I have some ideas on how to do it cheap and quick. PM if you are thinking about it?

Re: NOLA Bowl Game Opponent

I have to say I am really disappointed with the matchup. I know someone has to get the worse matchup of the bowl season but I was hoping it would not be us. There are a total of 7 ranked teams playing non-ranked teams. Those non-ranked teams are -- Boston College Texas Kansas State Iowa State Texas ...

Re: If no NY6 then where?

What might be good is for the AAC to get the P6 recognition they are looking for and get a automatic bid for their conference champion and then we could have a G4 which would work like the G5 does now. So the highest ranked G4 would get a bid. The G4 conferences (MAC, Sunbelt, MW, and C-USA) could b...

Re: If no NY6 then where?

Ok I have a question on the NY6 for everyone here. I assume the reason for giving the top G5 team a bid to one of these games was to give them incentive and let them feel included. However, thing have changed and if there are 12 teams in these 6 bowls then what happens if the G5 has 2 teams ranked i...

Re: TX St discussion

I heard on the radio, after the game, that they seemed to always slant and put extra defenders on the side that we ran. It sounds like maybe we have become predictable in showing which side we are running to by our line-up OR they possible are stealing our signs.

Re: Arkansas fires HC

Perhaps we are looking at this somewhat wrong. If Drink leaves for Arkansas that would look great for us being the place to go for many upcoming coaches and will make our search for another much better. I would think we would have many coaches wanting this job. I would think Drink leaving for the "b...
