Re: Admissions Advice

Tbh I’d just tell her to get a job, save up $$$, and live at home during the fall and head up in the spring. That’s one extra football season

Re: New Hire

Lutz would be a fine hire, but I still think he has no interest in being the head coach here. He'd take it if he needed the job but I just don't see him putting his all into it. What's insane to me is how we passed on Matt McMahon twice. We've talked it to death, but the absolute obvious hire was r...

Re: MBB: Apps v. TSU

Man, Ronshad has absolutely given his all and more for this program yet some of y'all honestly still talk like he's holding us back. For four years he's worked harder than anyone else on this team and has literally carried us to wins on multiple occasions. When we were 0-6 in the conference he easil...

Re: Apps picked last in East for 2019

When I was in school I was at a game talking to this good old boy local. I guess he was in his 60's or thereabouts. He told me then that Appalachian would never be a power in baseball for one reason---the weather in Boone. I mean, it makes sense. Playing baseball in the cold sucks. If I was a high ...

Re: Men's Basketball @ A-State

Come on... on paper Fox was a really good hire for us. Our basketball program was an absolute mess, and he was the top assistant to one of the best, most consistent, and most respected programs in all of college basketball. He was really energetic and I truly think he put his all into the job, it ju...

Re: MBB: App State @ CCU 2 PM HTC Center, Conway, SC

I’m at the Radford vs UNCA game. The Highlanders move the ball well, get lots of easy interior buckets and dunks, and play great defense with active hands. If they can do it with what I assume is a pretty small budget, we can too. Yeah Radford is good right now, definitely would be a guy to look in...

Re: Drink on Mac Attack

Drink is going to bring us two things this year that we couldn't have under Satterfield: a Spring game and a P5 win. I agree and believe that in a couple years from now folks will realize Satt was real conservative. He will be considered a good coach that we appreciate but folks will finally acknow...

Re: NO Bowl vs DG Bowl vs Camellia Bowl

Been to all 4. Had the most fun in NO easily. Mobile was a sneaky good time though. Date of the game absolutely sucked, but that city really rolls out the red carpet for the game. Mardi Gras parade was fun, and there's a few really solid bars on Dauphin St. The city is basically a much, much, much x...

Re: NDSU

NDSU has more P5 wins in the last 10 years than we do. They brought 12-15k fans over 1000 miles to their FCS title game. We brought 4500 the 700 miles to Nola. The same reason we didn’t want New Mexico State and Idaho in SBC——unrealistic travel expenses and time away from class is why they likely s...

Re: Troy’s Neal Brown to WVU

If you could choose to coach at WVU or Louisville for the same $. What's the better deal? Louisville - I think it's easier to recruit to as an urban school. Definitely advantages to WVU - better fans, more tradition, better mascot name, etc. but you're also in a league competing with OU, Texas, and...

Neal Brown to WVU getting some serious smoke

Not confirmed by any big time sources yet, but WVU and Troy fans both seem to think Neal Brown is headed to WVU. Will be interesting to see who they bring in.

Re: Time for Change with App State Basketball

When I was a student I tried so hard to support this current coaching staff and players. And I still do. Every interaction I ever had with Fox or any of the players was a great one. They're a great bunch of guys as far as I'm concerned and they all deeply care about creating a winning product. Unfor...

Re: MBB: App State @ Georgetown nationally televised on FS1

I just want to see more creativity at the end of the half and game. That’s where we fail as a team. We knew who was going to get the ball. Georgetown did, too. As did every team we’ve faced for the past two years. If we address this, we will be competitive in the league. If not... This is probably ...

Re: Hicks transferring

All the more reason for a solid RB recruit .....that makes two including DJ. Who is DJ? DJ Williams was our highest touted verbal commitment RB that supposedly is flipping to an SEC school in the 2019 class. FWIW he would have been the highest rated player we have ever got had we signed him. Yeah h...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

I do wonder, if you're a Louisville fan are you skeptical at all of the staff Satterfield is bringing in? Brown and Sirignano seemed like obvious slam dunk additions. But I'm a bit surprised Satterfield is turning to basically his entire App staff to fill his staff at Louisville. I mean he's filling...

Re: Coach Drink Staff Thread

I’d definitely make a full court press at Ivey. As someone else said, possibly cut a position and use some of that to give him a raise. Slap on the AHC/DC title. Sad thing is Louisville could still almost double what we could pay him, but that would still be a demotion of sorts if we offer him our D...
