Hope Kerns sticks with us and doesn’t jump to Wofford
I don’t see this being remotely likely since we’ve already hired him, can’t see him leaving like that. Good thing we already hired him though.

If he had his choice between both I wonder which he would have gone with.

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Sounds like something has definitely thrown a wrench in the process. Very eager to see how it plays out. Most of the fanbase seems to want Lutz (personally I'm very skeptical) and I bet a lot of the big donors do as well. Really can't wait to see who Doug lands on

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Just read Kerns' wiki and looked at all PC's game results over the last two seasons. Maybe there's some eye ball test factor or industry buzz about this guy but I am not seeing it at all on paper. Anyone have a clue as to why this guy is on the radar for any FBS conference BBall HC job, much less o...

I’m told by a very reliable source Mike Jones has turned down the Appalachian State job

Who?

Mike Jones https://t.co/rRqu46EGAN
This doesn’t shock me. Apparently Jones son and his best friend are currently committed to Radford

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Maybe DG is waiting for Jon Scheyer to finish the tournament. Doubtful, but as a Duke fan (I accept all hate) I'd like to see it. Can't imagine leaving a seat on the best bench in college sports for our job unfortunately lol. I do think Scheyer and Smith will both be great coaches one day. But simi...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

I know nothing from nothing, but the on-air comments by Lutz don’t seem like the actions of someone who thinks he’s getting the job. Nor does it seem consistent with Gillin’s apparent preference for keeping the search process under wraps. Yeah, if Lutz was actually in strong consideration I bet Dou...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

I could not disagree more. Clearly Bobby Lutz is the right choice to lead this program. Lutz is probably the best coach of the 4. Anyone would probably agree with that. But I just think it would be Buzz all over again. Lutz has never actually desired the Appalachian job, right now he’s just a man i...

Goodman is pretty reliable about this type of thing. This seems more substantial than anything we had regarding the football search

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

If we go Craft I wonder if he could somehow bring Jose Perez with him. He's going to be a hell of a player, well he actually already is. Would love to see the Bronx boy become an early leader of some of Craft's teams in Boone Not easily done w/o stirring up the natives and an NCAA investigation. Th...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Watching Wofford play Kentucky. Never thought I would say this....Terriers are coached up, they pass and move without the ball well. Most importantly, they hustle on defense. No reason with “right” coach at App, we could achieve similar results. Wofford also actually invests in basketball. That new...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Per HoopDirt: Early names at Appalachian State include Gardner-Webb head coach Tim Craft, Presbyterian head coach Dustin Kerns, and Campbell head coach Kevin McGeehan. Yikes. All of these are Big South coaches which is interesting. Tim Craft would be my vote of the three listed. I'm not entirely su...

Re: Football team involved in St. Patrick’s Day fight?

Heard rumors about this, St. Patrick's Day Party. No idea what set it off and obviously can't tell which specific players are involved though. I know what frat this happened at but I'm not providing any details lol. Sucks, but this seems rare to me. The football players used to come to my frat's par...

Re: Fox fired

I think Coach Allison should get a shot. He recruited all of our players and has a great class coming in. He’s also from Lincoln County, played at Liberty, head recruiter at VMI for 9 seasons when they were rolling and setting national scoring records. He’s 42 years old and would definitely fit the...

For those of you that wanted him I know that Bobby Lutz is interested
He’s interested because he needs a job, not because he wants to coach App St. Pass.

Re: Sean Price?

Sean had a big body and natural talent like Brian Quick, if he had of, had a good head on his shoulder he would have been NFL talent. Sutton is more polished, runs better routes, I'm guessing he is faster, I hope the scouts give him a chance, these days if you are not over 6'3" as a receiver you ha...

Re: MBB in SBC Tourney Round 1: Apps @ ULM 8 PM ESPN+

The way I see things, if Gillin does decide to kick the can down the road once again in regards to basketball he's on the clock too. It might be beginning of the end for him in Boone. What, am I reading this the right way? Are you saying Doug Gillin might be on the hot seat or something? Lmao he's ...
