Re: MBB @ Troy (1/29 7pm & 1/30 5pm)

Is it reasonable to expect the haves to not lose to the have nots at this point in the season? Have we done enough to be in the Haves? I think so. That being said we really need to go down there and sweep them. Even a split would not be good.

Re: RIP Hank Aaron

I watched the game when he hit the big homer. I know this is a Henry Aaron thread but man all of the former players who have died over the past year really hurts. I’ve always been a Reds fan- Morgan and Tom Terrific. I have always just been a baseball fan. Used to love checking the box scores every ...

Re: new oc

In my opinion as far as the Brice situation goes he just transferred to a better football program. Duke had their mini run a few years ago but like many just ok P5 programs they got exposed this season. Most P5’s rely on those 3-4 non-conference wins against FCS or bad G5’s then hope to go 3-5 or 4-...

Did they play at a high school? Soccer goal behind the goalpost. Great for Zac but did scouts even watch?

Re: Decision Announcements

So just for clarification let’s say hypothetically that team A has 10 guys from this year’s team decide to come back for another year and all of them graduate this year do they all have to apply for and get into a graduate program or can they take a minimum number of classes for an additional degree...

Re: Decision Announcements

We can probably all agree that this season was just a complete cluster and I’m thankful that I got to see some App football. When the NCAA made the ruling that this year was a freebie there had to be thoughts that the entire season would either not happen or would come crashing down within a few wee...

Re: AP#26

I believe all of name recognition, branding and track record stuff is taking hold. We have officially moved past the little mountain school that “shocked the world” (now 14 years ago) at the Big House. Granted the rankings are adjusted due to the crazy season but it’s still nice to see. To all of th...

Re: MBB vs Georgia Southern Discussion (1/8 6pm & 1/9 4pm)

The only real analytic that matters is wins and losses and we are ahead of that one. One negative aspect of our offense that I hope doesn’t bite us in the butt is the love of the 3. Admittedly I’m older and appreciate having a true big man who can score in the paint. I hate watching the NBA as it’s ...

Re: MBB vs Georgia Southern Discussion (1/8 6pm & 1/9 4pm)

I have noticed on more than one game this year (not just us) that there are lots of guys with masks down around their chins on the sidelines. What exactly is the point of “wearing” one down on the bench and what is being accomplished with bench chairs like 2’ apart?

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs

IMO if you opt out, all your individual stats are eliminated from team record books, you become ineligible for school’s hall of fame, no conference championship or bowl rings and you agree to payback your scholarship. Bottom line finish the drill. So, pretend the player never existed because you're...

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs

I believe that the number one problem in the whole deal is that we have G5 and P5 within the otherwise same division of major college football. We have a defined D3, D2 and FCS. While those schools play a game or 2 outside their division (usually for some cash) they play each other and have their ow...

Re: Mack Brown calls for Playoff Expansion-due to opt outs

I’ve heard more than one talking head on sports radio siding with “opt out” guys saying that the bowl game is more of a meaningless exhibition game. While there is some truth to that as is pertains to a lower level bowl- a stud running back chooses not to play in the ABC Toilet Bowl his 6-6 squad is...

Re: College Football

I believe that the term “student- athlete” is becoming a thing of the past. That old phrase- The name on the front of the jersey matters more than the name on the back” is about dead. Most of us that will post on this thread will probably be over 50 (me included). I am not using this observation or ...

Re: Zac Gone

I like when a college football or basketball player can be appreciated for college level achievements even if he doesn’t translate into professional success. Tebow was an awesome college football player, as was Johnny Manziel. Love him or hate him Christian Laettner was one of the greatest college p...
