Re: FALL 21 QB?

It never ceases to amaze me how some guys on this board can watch some limited high school highlights and then make a determination either way as to whether a kid will or won’t play, particularly at QB. Have we ever had a dude like DBG at QB? I personally will let our coaches make the call. I agree ...

Re: App cutting multiple sports

What is the travel cost (on average) for away football and basketball conference games? How many times each year do we fly the teams? Obviously last year we should have seen some savings with bus trips to Chapel Hill and Columbia. I would think that we take a bath with basketball especially the away...

First the only $ guaranteed is the signing bonus. Net after tax approx about $575,000. Off the gross is agents $. 5-7%. Bank as much as you can the first years. I’d be buying nothing but Treasuries and Utilities year 1 Don’t these guys have other stuff deducted like union dues and insurance, etc? A...

Re: What is Major College Football's Moral Obligation...

I read this morning that as of right now the schools in the NC system plan to reopen in the fall with students. Would that mean that they all plan to play sports as well? In my mind for sports to happen it’s got to be a 100% deal nationwide. How can the universities in say, 35 states reopen to stude...

That was so cool when he fired up the fight song. I was falling asleep and went to bed right before Evans got picked. My son texted me from downstairs and I raced back down to see the end of his highlights and DJ’s moments. Priceless

One good note is Becton OL beast coached a season by Satt and crew goes to the Jets to block for Jalin Moore Becton is very talented but his weight is a concern. His mom is a chef and I believe he is also. He will have to get that under control in the NFL but if he does watch out. Becton ran an inc...

Re: NFL Draft

Dugger from LR is a beast. Draft moving nicely. Saw Evans to Ravens as last pick Im 3rd round in one poll. I had heard this guy was moving up the boards and had a few nice highlights but who was he abusing- Mars Hill and Wingate? Dumb pick. He was probably available in the 4th round. I love the Pan...

Hate to pile on but why on earth is this an added topic? It’s bad enough when threads get started that simply mention stuff we’ve already seen in the news or on ESPN but to create one that is about a guy who died two years ago?

Re: I hope this has legs. Expanded playoffs

If it is the 5-2-1 model, I hope they make a rule that the other G5 champs play a play off. 4 vs 1 and 3 vs 2 and the winner of this game plays the G5 CFP selection ( I assume the highest rated G5 Champ) unless that g5 wins the first round of their CFP which automatically makes them the g5 champ. O...

Man that game shows everything we are missing. It was a Friday night game- stadium packed, reasonably local conference for- intense, the band played constantly between plays- enough said. And we were freaking FCS!

Re: I hope this has legs. Expanded playoffs

What is the highest seeded FCS team to ever win the championship? I thought I read #8? Even 16 at that level is probably too much. I remember attending several first round home playoff games where the attendance was below 10k. At least at the FCS level they added byes. I think the potential to get a...

Re: I hope this has legs. Expanded playoffs

Obviously these ideas are all wishful and hopeful but most are doubtful especially the ones that include the G5 champs earning auto bids. Assuming the money aspect gets back close to where it was there’s no way in hell the 5 G5 champs get bids. Let’s assume the traditionally good G5’s maintain solid...

Re: I hope this has legs. Expanded playoffs

I would first eliminate conference championship games unless one is needed to break a tie between the top 2 if divisions aren’t used or the top teams from each division if they didn’t play head to head. What’s the point in a 12-0 Clemson playing an 8-4 UNC for a championship? Give the top 4 teams in...

Re: Five FBS conferences, including AAC and C-USA, ask NCAA to relax Division I requirements

Schools like App and other mid major types have just been asking for financial trouble with these crazy all over the country conferences. We simply won’t be able to fly the volleyball team out to Texas, Arkansas or even Louisiana. Do any of the women’s basketball games make any significant gate reve...
