Re: First game: ETSU

There should be a huge gap in talent between a decent FCS team (ETSU) and a legit top 30 BCS team (App). The only way this game is close is if Drink gets conservative like Satt always did or if he substitutes liberally in the second half after we go up like 42-7 by halftime. One or two “studs” on th...

Re: First game: ETSU

And why on earth does every situation always come back to the Michigan game? No matter who we play it’s 3 degrees of separation.

Re: First game: ETSU

Someone please start a thread solely dedicated to discussing the ETSU game. I’m sure it will go 20 pages at least with in depth analysis of their incredibly powerful squad.   This is the first game, first home game and first for Drink. If the guys aren’t fired up and prepared we have...

Re: SBNation UNC preview article - interesting

Extremely weak analysis of our team, which is fine- whatever. I must have REALLY missed something last season as far as ZT goes. Did we run the ball very well last year? Gee I can’t remember. If I’m not mistaken we have a pretty good set of linebackers but apparently our corners are the only positio...

Re: Holding out hope for 4 UNC game

You've got a few weeks until 9/21. I'm certain some tickets will come available as the game time gets closer. Life is so busy now and things pop up from time to time that will prevent people from being able to attend. Out of approximately 50k seats, something will surely open up for you. If I hear ...

Re: Official Fall Camp thread

Might just be me but my take on the “big” G5 type offensive lineman is, more often than not, that most of them are just fat generally immobile dudes. Most of the 6’5” 300 lb really athletic and mobile guys are on the P5’s. Obviously there are exceptions and nobody really knows how that 275 lb freshm...

Re: Official Fall Camp thread

If we are going to a faster up tempo offense do we really want 6’5” 300 lb guys up front? Can “larger” linemen keep up the pace? Granted we need larger than 270 lb freshmen but to completely dismiss the possibility that a freshman just might be ready to provide some depth is strange thinking.

Re: Official Fall Camp thread

I read posts of folks worried to death about depth at certain positions- namely the Oline. There is a tendency to forget that we have younger guys getting bigger and stronger by the day who will push for playing time.

Re: Official Fall Camp thread

Also, possible that he is a better fit for our blocking scheme than Tennessee's. Some of our guys that have been great, may not have been successful at other programs because of the blocking scheme. Have to remember that the scheme is changing as well. It's going to be an adjustment for everyone. S...

Re: ASU v. UNC 4 Tix

I'm a season ticket holder at UNC and have 4 tickets available in section 103 about halfway up. $75/ticket I went to Carolina, but I love mountaineer football and want to see App win (which is why I'm posting here). I wish I could make the game, but since I can't, please pack the stadium with Black...

Re: Official Fall Camp thread

As East said, they keep their scholarships. They transfer over to medical scholarships and do not count toward the 85 limit. To answer the other question about grad transfer. You aren't going to find a transfer that will come in and start. They would more than likely come in for depth and emergency...

Re: Four votes in the preseason coaches poll

Really a dumb ranking. Does anyone really think that coaches have analyzed the App State roster and made the determination that since Clifton Duck left early our defense will drop off and subsequently we won’t be as good? For that matter how many coaches really put in the effort to truly rank teams ...

Re: Official Fall Camp thread

When this happens does it open spots for possible added transfers? I believe Haskins and Burnette maintain their schollies. Assuming the disqualifications were outside of the knowledge and control of those two kids, the schollies should be maintained (as long as they get it done in the classroom). ...

Under center snaps

Watching some of the presser from today on FB and the interview with NH. Hard to believe we are actually going to snap some balls “old school”, so to speak- lol. I know this has been discussed but we can all recall screaming at the television or from the sideline when the offense had 3rd or 4th and ...
