Re: APP STATE up to 25 Votes Top 25 coaches poll

My personal goal for the team in either this season or next is to break the top 25. Even if it's for a week, just to finally get that acknowledgement which we've flirted with but never achieved. I'd like to think if we beat stAte, Coastal and Troy we might break that ceiling. I think we might not w...

Re: South Alabama Coach Pronouncing Appalachian

Had to be on purpose. You can’t possibly be in a conference this many years, attend meetings, conduct media events and not know how it’s pronounced. He will hear it so much Saturday it will be embedded in his brain

Re: APP STATE up to 25 Votes Top 25 coaches poll

There should be no polls until every team plays 6 games. Too much uncertainty and change

Re: 3rd Youngest?

No disrespect whatsoever to any of these young men but in terms of significant roster hits after this season I see: 2 defensive secondary (Hayes and Exford)- should not hurt much 1 running back (Moore) - hurts some but depth is incredible O Line ( Greer and Campbell)- depth should make this a non f...

Re: Best receiving corps in App Stae History

A conversation on the Sun Belt forum got me thinking. Two questions related to the best group of receivers at App: 1. Best starting three 2. Best total group (considering depth) For simplicity, only consider on-the-field performance (cough, Price, cough) and don't consider performance in the pros. ...

Re: App vs USA opening line

I don’t play and what I think has zero bearing on the outcome of any game. That being said I believe 21 points is a decent number. If we struggle next Saturday it’s only because we lost focus. We obviously have stepped way up with overall talent and depth. What I have seen with the next tier G5 team...

Re: Young guys that stood out

I think Peoples can be good based on his size, athleticism, and high school highlights. But what did he do yesterday to stand out? He averaged 5.9 yards per carry when Moore and Hicks averaged 14-15 per carry. I'm loving this new redshirt rule! Yeah he didn’t do much. If only he had ripped off a 70...

All those guys are (will be) studs. I know that every QB played. Did the big freshman from WS Glenn get in?

P5 and G5 degree of separation

ODU and Troy take down traditional power schools. Army and App down to the wire. Probably more than I can think of. How many P5’s are only by association? The divide is indeed narrowing

Re: Takin Care of Business

The downside (if there is one) to a game like this is that a guy like Jalin Moore barely played. He could have easily reached 200 yards. After watching People’s Hudl highlights I was like, wow! I didn’t see the second half today but saw the stats. So do the freshmen get one more game before they red...

Re: Sun Belt Scores

If we keep up the intensity and avoid a letdown we should steamroll several opponents and ought to handle Troy and Ark. And by the way, Nebraska ain’t no good. The shine is fading on the Troy win

Re: ODU vs VT

A bigger question exists- how bad is Florida State? I think we are just potentially REALLY good. I just don’t think any of us can completely grasp it. We were a very dominant FCS program and transitioned nicely but perhaps we are just loaded now. Personally I believe we are genuinely a top 30 team ...

Re: Zeb Noland and ISU

I often wonder about players like this that decommit and go elsewhere. Especially the ones that go to P5s...do they see the field? Do they graduate from that school? In this case, it looks like it’s working out well for Zeb. And I’d say we’re in good hands too. In Zack We Trust! Same here. Does Ala...

Re: APP STATE 12 Votes Top 25 coaches poll.

I realize that the hardcore guys don’t want to hear this and I am fully aware of the “don’t want to be in the FCS talk” but considering the number of really good G5 teams how cool would a G5 8 team playoff be? Imagine a home game against, say a Boise be? This topic has been beaten to death but the c...

Re: Satterfield's contract extended!!!

Why not give him a 5-10 year extension? That way the buyout will be huge. That could be risky for us. Suppose in year 5 or 6 of a 10 year contract, he has a few bad seasons. We would be stuck with him for the remainder of the 10 year contract and possibly have to pay him for the years after we rele...
