Re: Top 5 most dominant single-season App defensive performances

I am not as much of a stat head as some but just from my eye test I would say the best individual defenders that I have seen at App are Coakley, Stevens and Lynch. That is in no way a slight to all the other awesome defensive players that we have had over the years, but those 3 stand out to me. I ne...

Re: Texas State and the Transfer Portal

There used to be a law (maybe just a rule) that allowed out of state athletes on scholarship to be treated as in state for purposes of costs. It has been a long time since I looked it up and it might have changed but I know at one time the out of state players cost the school the same amount.

Re: Daniel Kilgore and Covid

Nobody is more efficient at moving lines of cars than a Chick-Fil-A manager. It really is an artwork to see how quickly they can run cars through a drive through. Didn't realize the mayor of Mt Pleasant used that knowledge, but it makes sense.

Re: Cornerbacks Coach: Rod West

Never heard of him before today but the article makes it sound like he is a good hire. I always like the idea of bringing in young coaches as I think they make better recruiters.

This is a perfect example of why all kids that are certain of their decisions should sign in the early signing period, it protects them from this type of horse###t.

Re: Decision Announcements

If you look at the list, it is mostly made up of new recruits (16 of the top 20 from 2019 and on with 3 of the top 5 in this class) so we obviously do not know how they will turn out. However, the highest rated recruit ever (DGB) is gone now without ever making a splash and the only 3 players on the...

Re: Pruitt Gone at Tennessee

I have spoken with several UCF alums this morning and none of them are upset that Heupel is gone. The students have been calling for Heupel's head since at least last year as well. What does concern the alums is the combined loss of White, Heupel and whoever he takes with him to Tennessee including ...

Re: FCS In The Spring - Who Are You Rooting For?

I doubt I will watch a single fcs game this spring, let alone pull for anyone. I haven't watched a complete one since we moved up. Just doesn't do it for me anymore which kind of surprised me at first because I was sure that I would continue to follow fcs after we moved up.

Re: new oc

i like the Ponce hire because he is a great recruiter, very good qb coach and he worked out really well the last stint in Boone. My only negative thoughts are that as a top 40 program we just hired a guy with no college game calling experience. I wonder how many candidates that were interviewed had ...

This is a big deal. There are numerous different All American lists but this one has been around a long time and has legit credibility. Very impressive accomplishment for Shemar.

Re: Athletic fees for general students

Questions: When the government provides “free” tuition for everyone, will that include the athletic fees? Also, when tuition is “free”, won’t it be necessary to pay athletes to come to APP? My 2 youngest currently attend UF and have "Florida Bright Futures" in which the State of Florida pays all tu...

Re: Marshall Coach Let Go

I guess Marshall got tired of watching all the other G5 teams getting the limelight and someone thinks they can find a coach that will get them there. I know they finished the season very poorly and their young qb started playing more like a young qb but they were ranked in the top 25 for most of th...

Re: ZT's future

I have posted many thing on here about my perception of the regression of Zac Thomas this year. That said, I do understand that having 3 different head coaches, OC and qb coaches in 3 years is very hard on anyone and I bet NFL guys realize this as well. I have no idea if he will be drafted although ...

Re: new oc

I say lets take a flyer on Gus Malzahn, he is currently unemployed and with the 21 million that Auburn just had to pay him he can afford to take less next year. Mostly joking here, but imagine what that guy could do with our offense against the defenses we usually face. It would be a show.

Re: new oc

We should get the best candidate out there and I have an impossible time believing that would be Taylor Lamb at this point in his career. I know many people on here love the fact that we bring our guys back to coach, I do as well, but that should never be the consideration in a hire. We should alway...

Re: Coaches ranked as recruiters

Not a single Coastal coach on that list. Lots of Georgia State guys filling out rankings after all the App guys up top. Interesting thing is that only 4 schools even have coaches listed in that top 24 with App having 10, Georgia State having 8, South Alabama with 4 and ULL with 2.

Re: CBS Rates First Year Coaches

I think that a "B" is the grade I would give as well. All in all, most schools consider 9-3 with a bowl win to be a great season, but we are not most schools. It is a good season but I will remember it more for missed opportunities due to self inflicted injuries and a lot of that falls on the coachi...

I am a little late to this news and thread but I could not be happier. Christmas just keeps coming this year, even if a few days late. I am sure TP is a good guy but he certainly did not show any competence in running an offense, play calling with rhythm, half time adjustments or optimizing the uniq...
