We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Time to get a bake sale going…we got bills to pay up here. We delivered Krispy Kreme donuts on Saturdays during the summer to raise money for our high school sports. The baseball team (App State) was handing out snickers and candy at homecoming football tailgates. Not sure if it was to raise money ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Anyway you can go back to Gillen’s 12/19/24 App St. Aporoach to changes in college sports… he lays it out in detail. The $330k “payment” is actually a reduction in future payments made from the NCAA to Apps for 10 yrs. It is essentially less for our budget than they planned for and will have to be ...

Re: Preseason Projections
Nobody knows anything about this team at this point. Heck, we don't even know who are going to be our starters. On paper, we picked up a lot of good talent but that talent was very thin on experience so nobody really has any basis to judge at this point. I hope we don't finish 5-7 but honestly I hav...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
The biggest P4 will still have different college sports. The SEC especially has been pouring money (earned from football primarily) into all kinds of Olympic sports for years. Look at the swimming, gymnastics, track and field, etc championships and there are tons of SEC schools involved. Also look ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
So will there be contract negotiations between the stud free agent quarterback who is demanding $10m a season, or that 6’8” LeBron type power forward who can command pro level money? It will be interesting to see how this money is distributed and will this be public knowledge? Will there be a colle...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
The more I read the more I think this will be better for us than most think. The P4s are driving this NIL enforcement by Deloitte, they are tired of the lawlessness even though it benefitted them. Enforcement will benefit them because the numbers are way less than what is being spent now and the rem...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
The " side gig" for the student athlete is the sport they play for the University. Many are putting in more hours than a student with a "side gig". We can debate whether they should get paid or not ...or whether the scholarship should be the only payment. My point is that the amount of time that st...

https://twitter.com/64analytics/status/1932084043484418270?s=46&t=UfUtPHfzYe5R3hJ5cku44g Not App related, but it seems like the road to success is thru the portal and retaining the studs on your team. High School recruits are getting looked over left and right. Teams want to win now. That could ope...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Just so people understand what reallocating existing funds means, potentially: cutting sports, cutting staff, reducing scholarships from teams that arent football and basketball, reducing budgets (both for teams and operationally), putting construction projects on hold, among other things that I'm ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
If the settlement works like they all expect this could actually be a good thing for App State and all smaller schools. I say this because although there is a lot of bad (increased scholarships and direct pay from schools, etc) there is also a lot of good in that NIL will be enforced to truly be NI...

Re: 2025 Football Schedule updates
Didn't really expect this. https://twitter.com/appstatesports/status/1929902145609851091 Not surprised at all. There is great demand for our product despite having a subpar season last year, NIL, transfer portal, etc. I know we hear a lot of grumbling about people not donating and giving up tickets...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
I wonder aloud how the schools all signing an agreement to make rules and enforce them is any different from a monopolistic argument than the NCAA that did the same exact thing. Unless this organization allows for some type of collective bargaining from the players, it is still going to violate anti...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Some of the issues could be alleviated with multi year contracts. Make them with a very large buyout if player wants to transfer so developing school gets some renumeration for time spent developing player. Does not solve all issues and sure it could be potentially challenged. But, try something an...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
The void of leadership has led us to this. 100000% The NCAA’s inability and unwillingness to address this for years, and instead just hoard cash led us to the disaster we are in right now. Doubt congress wants to deal with it, and honestly everything they touch turns to crap. Hoping President Trump...
