Re: Benson other G5 Commissioners Oppose Expansion

I agree that the powers that be don't want to have less bowls, but I contend it is simply for tv audience and the advertisers that live sports generate. The communities might benefit some from the bowls but ESPN probably has no care about tickets sold because they are making their money on the adver...

Re: Benson other G5 Commissioners Oppose Expansion

What gets me is of all folks the AAC Commish, especially this season, gives a full throated endorsement of the current set-up and agaist expansion. If I were UCF, I’d take that as a punch to the gut. Makes no sense to me. Agreed. The only conclusion I can draw is that somebody's on the take. With 4...

Re: Jalen Hurts transfers to the Stink?

I follow Bama fairly closely and have been waiting all year for Tua to get his chance in a meaningful game. Tua is the real deal and many have been calling for him all year, I don't think there is any question that he is the qb for here on out. Hurts seems like the ultimate team first guy so I doubt...

Re: Straight up pickem .....CFP National Championship

I say Bama wins another one. Georgia actually plays into Bama's strengths, their qb is not mobile and they rely on the run. Bama's dbs are good and their run D is always one of the best in the country. The only position that I think UGA is better at than Bama is qb. I look for the Tide to Roll.

Your friend is a sorry punk a** b***h in my book. To hell with him and all those like him. If you spend time at App and don't bleed black and gold, then I have no time for you.

Re: Assistant pay $10mm

It will be interesting to see when the bubble bursts. With less youth playing football, for parents fear of injury, and more people pulling the plug on cable it should just be a matter of time. Cable companies pay insane money to the conferences to cover a sport that may have significantly less part...

Haha, this is absurd. You just can't claim a national championship. It isn't something you can just make up and proclaim as a true title.

Re: My G5 Top 10

With the front page discontinued I didn't do the weekly column this year, but I can't resist taking a stab at a final ranking. Just one man's opinion, of course. 1. Central Florida (13-0, AAC Champions, beat Auburn in Peach Bowl) 2. Boise State (11-3, MWC Champions, beat Oregon in Las Vegas Bowl) 3...

Re: QB next year

Should make for an interesting spring and fall camp, but right now I don't think any of us know enough to count out any of these kids. I hope they all push each other and whoever earns the job knows that there are very capable backups just waiting for the chance to play. Competition will make them a...

Re: Season Ticket Sales 2007 vs 2017 - This is disappointing

As others have stated, if mini packages were included in the 2007 season ticket numbers than the comparison is completely flawed and useless. Compare apples to apples, how many full season ticket packages did we sell in 2007? The athletic office is attempting to create their own form of supply and d...

Re: Lamb

I think he goes down as the second best qb to wear the black and gold. Honestly, what he has accomplished during a transition is unprecedented and frankly should get more media attention. Yes, he had some limits in his skill set but not in his leadership and determination. Taylor Lamb has been great...

Re: North End Zone project update

So they are still using student money to build this is what I'm gathering. The "food services revenue" sounds like student money to me. Student money given in exchange for food, left over after paying the overhead for serving said food. It's not a fee. It seems to pass the basic economics test to m...

Begs the question. Are we better than last year?
I would say that we are not. We had more proven healthy playmakers on offense at this time last year and our defense wasn't as bang up, was deeper, and I believe had the statistical edge in most categories.

Re: Should we ever actually consider moving games back to Varsity Gym?

I really think the location of varsity was key to many of the good crowds. Can't tell you how many times I was walking to eat with friends when we realized there was a game and then went. That just can't happen at Holmes because of the location. Having the game next to the library and the largest fo...

Re: Poll: Bowl Game

Troy has been the best of the conference all year, so only fitting they share the title with us. They better enjoy this one because in the coming years they will be in our division so they won't get many more chances to even play for the title. If the rest of the SunBelt hasn't learned yet, they soo...

Yeah, it was so obvious that it wasn't even funny. There should be a penalty for that type of play. I have switched channels all night looking for a decent game, and this is by far the best on tonight, go FunBelt.
