Re: Portal time 25-26
Wilson is a scholarship player. D2 comment is realistic if he wants to see the field. I’m not in the business of babying people, including you. Hahah. Yeah you are allll man. Tell Dexter his son is a D2 player at best. The shilling You do for this Haven’t accomplished a thing Coach is epic. Or mayb...

Re: Portal time 25-26
Another walkon. Maybe he just wants playing time in D2? “Legacy” doesn’t get you in the lineup anymore. Wilson seemed to not be terrible and he didn’t sniff the field all season. I have No idea if coakley is good enough to get playing time but trash talking the kid of the best player to ever play f...

Re: We need a good offensive coordinator
I’m not sure I buy the idea that DL is a bad play caller. My issue is with our QB play. In my 25+ years watching App St football, that was the worst QB room we’ve had, relative to our competition. It was a huge red flag we didn’t have a starter named/known until the first snap of the season. For th...

Re: Portal time 25-26
But, are these disgruntled parents as little Johnny did not get playing time, certain number of catches, etc. I only know what I viewed on TV. 60+ players showed up and appeared to give their all for 60 minutes. And how many didn't show up? Everyone for Ga Southern was there, we were down almost 30...

And some more comments from an ex player/alumni I believe who seems to be in the know. That’s 2 outspoken parents as of late. Hmmm A parent/recruit would have t...

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/what-the-transfer-portal-costs-now-position-by-position-price-ranges-amid-a-market-surge/ P4 is spending irrational amounts of money. Those are just insane numbers. Guys that are not talented enough to make the NFL can play for P4 programs and clean u...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I’ll ask the same question, I asked weeks ago and never saw a decent response. Outside of DJ’s defense, where did we improve this year in season? What mistakes did we stop making? You can say we didn’t have the horses, but part of the job is development and improvement. This group was together cont...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Someone who played the position tells me that Wilson showed more than enough yesterday to prove that giving up on him was a huge mistake by the staff. Pretty sure that everyone who watched that game had the exact same conclusion. Sure, he was raw and missed bad on some passes, but he showed me more...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Shawn Clark (God rest his soul) would have produced a better result than DL. THIS year. Shawn Clark wouldn’t have had to rebuild, and App would’ve won maybe 2-3 more games. App admin rolled the dice that a new coach, after an adjustment period, could make App better. Think of it this way, if you we...

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I really wish I shared some of your optimism about the ability of our coaching staff. I did like the recruiting class and that impressed me, but I saw nothing during the games to give me confidence in the actual coaching abilities.

Certainly, but Gillon is neither and our staff seems to really believe in him. Makes me question their talent evaluation.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 5:00 pm6 is a FBS level runner.. not an FBS level passer.. just my opinion

Re: Birmingham Bowl
Will be nearly impossible to pull out a W now but if the core group today comes back next season we may show some improvement along with some transfer in and a full squad. Not a good game to watch, truly backyard ball but hey we are all Champions of Life! Don’t forget the #1 ranked recruiting class...

They used up a lot of time, but missed the FG. Of course there is a flag on App State. We just can't get out of our own way.

Re: Birmingham Bowl
I just want to know what our coaches see in Gillon. Every time he plays, he looks lost and not good at all. Heck, Wilson was moved out of the QB room for the entire season, and we can all see that he plays the position much better than Gillon does.
