Re: Other teams coaches
If some expectations are 7-6 that might as well be for every year going forward because unless something changes we will have a revolving door and will be looking for half a new roster every year. I recall several years ago when we had that good run we had an offensive line, backs and receivers who,...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Well I guess if you have to find some redeeming quality with the portal and NIL it’s that the guy who got offers from solid G5’s but instead chose to go the P4 route, found his way down the depth chart and got little to no money then instead of the old school route of working hard to climb the chart...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
The constant Ferrari and Lamborghini references to those teams get a bit overused in my opinion. We had a really good roster but we had to hold on against and average UNC team and also against a bad USC squad who also nearly caught the game winner at the back of the end zone. Not to say we weren’t l...

Re: App Sports Network
I would probably buy a low level sub for non football sports. Tennis, volleyball, socc3r, field hockey, etc. I dont even need announcers, just slap one of those nice rotating cameras up on a pole at each field. That was sort of my thought. Maybe enhance the school program that handles camera and br...

App Sports Network
This is probably a far fetched question but is there any feasibility for the creation of a subscription based App Sports Network? I realize that we already have some games on ESPN plus (do we make any money from that?) Would the Sunbelt prohibit a school network? Would App fans even pay for the oppo...

Re: UCLA football
Side note- you have to wonder what the heck some of these guys (JA included) are doing on the academic side. Leave App State, admitted to UCLA? Fall classes at UCLA? Admitted to UT? Do generally speaking most JUCO credits transfer? It baffles me how some of these dudes can move around this much and ...

Re: UCLA football
Kind of amazing that in this era there aren’t more college players choosing to play in states with no state tax. A million dollars less $100k makes a huge difference in my view. I know pro guys pay the jock tax. How does that work in college? If UT goes to play a game in Alabama is a player taxed in...

Re: UCLA football
It would for that reason but I thought Joey was trying to get closer to the west coast to make it easier on his family? He would actually be getting farther away from home with that move. Joey had a 38.7 QBR when he last played against an ACC opponent. I’m sure that you will be sure to bring that u...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Looking for eligibility time limits to go away. So basically trying to become the USFL in that they want to become the NFL lite. SMH. Yep, as soon as they start sharing revenue they would in their become employees. This means they can't be discriminated against due to age or anything of the sort. T...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Are the people commenting on the UCLA message board allowed to watch practice? If so that’s highly unusual as I know we don’t allow it. We parked up at the A one time for just a few minutes during a practice and got yelled at from the field. We left.

Re: NC senate budget
Not to shift the discussion but I’ve often wondered why we don’t just institute a national lottery. People scream and yell about paying taxes but just imagine the revenue if say, 50 million people per week spent $1 on a ticket. The winnings could be multiple. It’s like a shot at getting your tax mon...

Re: Coastal to have free concessions
I remember being at a home game a few years ago and early in the first quarter a family in front of us left their seats presumably to get concessions. I swear they didn’t get back until the second quarter. I have no idea where they went. Whenever I go to a game there is no way I’m burning have a qua...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
I’ve asked this before and it’s a very generalized question. If you take 85 players on our roster, on average how much money could App State realistically pay that roster for play? Could we really afford $10k each ($850k total)? Obviously no pay for play would be a flat rate but annually do we even ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Seems like for the most part the only group really and truly in favor of this current model are the select few top athletes, the relatively small group of rich boosters and a handful of top very highly paid coaches who really don’t care because they know they have the access to gobs of money that ca...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Smaller to mid G5’s and FCS teams go to play power schools for a large paycheck that helps to fund their programs- this is common knowledge that everyone understands and accepts. Every now and then smaller schools get the checks and the upset wins-we have a few of those. The big schools have no prob...

Re: Another domino has fallen NIL
I have a hard time believing that a major company REALLY needs some random college athlete to help them sell their products especially if that athlete has to say who they are.
