Re: The J Cline Memorial Celebrity Obituaries

As a diehard Braves fan losing those two back to back really does hurt.

Can’t tell me this isn’t an At large team if GW and Western were flipped to W’s.
On fire!!
15-8 in SBC play.
I agree but that’s the problem. We did get swept and WCU torched us both games. I think the killer was losing two late inning leads to Coastal.

Re: Offseason thread: recruiting, transfer portal schedule, general discussion

I do think weather is a huge factor in building a baseball program in Boone. I also think we should be extremely grateful for a coach like Kerns that puts a quality product on the floor every year despite a limited budget even for the SB in basketball.

College of Charleston would be crazy not to consider Kerns. I would love to see Matt in Boone.

Re: Charlotte Hornets fans

This team is so darn fun to watch. Things really started turning around for this franchise once Jordan sold the team. If they stay healthy, the Hornets are very dangerous.

Rev Jesse Jackson has passed away.
I missed the first part of the interview but NPR had a nice interview with a person that worked with Jesse Jackson. It was a nice reflection on the life of a man with NC and Greensboro connections.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread

Totally agree. Kerns is a fabulous coach and the best hire DG has made. To suggest his future may lie on how basketball ends is absurd. Please don’t twist my words. Thank you. I said what I said and it means what it means. And that comes from people who make decision. Future doesn’t not lie on bask...

Takes a college degree to figure out the d@#n bracket.
I love the format of the Sunbelt tournament. It rewards teams for how they perform in the regular season. For a one bid league makes perfect sense. Just one persons opinion.

It always amazes me how teams that play great defense are called ugly! Great defense is Kerns trademark. Buzz Peterson won the same way when he was in Boone.

Bottom line, what an amazing job by Coach Kerns this year. Finish strong and he has to be Sunbelt coach of the year. I beg our alumni and students to come out for the last two home games. This team deserves it. And will our athletic department please do something to heavily promote these two games!

If DL’s buyout money has already been raised then no coach in their right mind should want to come here.

I just don’t think it can be stated enough what a great coach we have in Dustin Kerns, on a limited basketball budget at that.

Re: FB vs the fake ASU Saturday at 2:30

My impression of the first season of DLo is not good. I saw a lot to not like and very little to like. My impression of DG is worse. He’s responsible for this. His last two hires have been colossal failures. Totally disagree Clark was a colossal failure. Much to early to make that statement about L...

I like the way coach takes responsibility for his mistakes. I still believe in the guy. This season was derailed by major injuries to the o line. Give the man some time folks. Even as many times as it’s been said, I still think the effect of injuries on this team is downplayed. DL hasn’t had time t...
