Re: Matt McMahon

Cobb said when hiring Capel that he had "life experience" that was one of the factors. Cobb also said he felt the players wanted Capel, which turned out to be completely untrue. Heck, Buzz thought McMahon was the guy. He announced Capel for his UNCW staff and not Matt, then reversed course when Cobb...

FYI, play was suspended tied 3-3 in the T5 today. Will resume Sunday, followed by game three.

Re: Troy at Home

FYI, Jim's current contract goes through the end of next season, to April 2019. I don't think having Jim go into next season with an uncertain future is a good idea, not for recruiting or morale. I'd say two-year extension to April 2021 if he finishes this year strong.

Re: ECU Home Game Moved to 2023

Both Troy and South Alabama have hosted several SEC and Big 12 teams. I think Pac-12 and B1G as well, even if it was previous Sun Belt teams.

Re: Troy at Home

I feel like Jim is right at earning an extension. You can't go into next year without an extension if you want to build beyond that. Next year could be a breakthrough with Bibby joining Ronshad, O'Showen, Tyrell, Issac and a more mature Forrest.

14 wins would do it, IMO.

Re: TONIGHT BB GAME

Kudos to the women. They played a good USA team that plays a defensive-minded game and they were clutch when they absolutely needed to be, even if it was bowling-shoe ugly (16 App points in the second half!). They're close to turning the corner next season if everyone comes back. Hope Angel doesn't ...

It's always a highlight to see the scholar athletes line up around the court. That's not an easy achievement.

I saw a team tonight that collectively, their first movement with the ball was to hesitate.

We're close. But you can fall flat right before the finish line.

Re: 2018: Softball

The problem recently has been retaining players. At the end, the players mutinied on the coach and a change had to be made. It was the second time in four years the players did that. This is Year 0 for Hoerner. This year is all about building a culture and bringing players back for next season. If t...

Re: App MBB vs Coastal

Three of the remaining five conference games are at home and all of them are against the worst teams in the Belt. We actually have a shot to make a run for the 3 seed. Anything can happen in roundball. To add more potential good news, both road games are against teams who kicked their leading score...

I'm almost certain we'll win the sun belt and then barely lose to UVA in the NCAA championship game. Almost certain.
That's completely ridiculous.

UVA's not making the championship game this year.

We are now one game out of third place, and we’ll likely be favored in all five of our remaining games. Wow.
We're one game in either direction from third and tenth right now.

Re: 17-18 Wrestling

Duke had two sets of twin brothers from Colorado, who, I believe, went 4-0 on the night. They were just tenacious and racked up points. Out of our three ranked wrestlers, two faced opponents ranked higher than them. The matchups didn't favor us. Big ups to Irvin Enriquez who has had a rough go at it...

Just one point....I believe AE got a few snaps during the NC State game, but his introduction came in the second game against James Madison (not Mars Hill). Mars Hill was the third game and I believe AE's first start. I didn't have an inside source with the football team, but as I recall it, when t...

Re: MBB App State @ Texas State

Neither team made a FG in the final four minutes of the game.

Right now App is 5-7. Texas State is 4th at 7-5. And we have tiebreaker over them.

The last six games are winnable.
