Re: Portal season (Abson, Spillers, etc)

Anyone know if this craziness with the portal this off-season is endemic for all mid-majors (not just the Sun Belt)? Like losing half your roster to the portal alone? https://twitter.com/PardonMyTake/status/1767266202852749569?s=20 Pitino is saying he wishes he could have signed players to contract...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

Going to extras in the second game of a Sunday DH going into this week could be a curse. With an away game Tuesday and then a Thursday-Saturday series for Easter, that means 7 games in 8 days.

Re: 2024 Spring Ball

Actually, I looked back and Satterfield did a spring game two years in a row, 2013 and 2014. 2013 was on a Saturday and there was also an open scrimmage at Ardrey Kell HS the week before. The 2014 spring game was on a Friday night for some insane reason. Drinkwitz held a "Mountaineers Day" in 2019 w...

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

A safety squeeze was a perfect call. We just forgot to run.

Satterfield tried it and the attendance sucked.
Satterfield tried it once, in 2014, when half the fanbase was still mad about Jerry and coming off a 4-8 season in FCS.

Wey Hall saga

As you may have seen the last couple years, the front of Wey Hall has been under construction to modernize the building. https://www.appstate.edu/appalachians-future/building-physical-infrastructure/wey-hall/ However, art classes have continued. Last Wednesday, the building was closed to students af...

After Donald Sims' No. 0, put Donovan's No. 11 in the rafters.

Re: 2024 Baseball Mega Thread

Getting on base isn't our problem. We get on base at an unreal clip and are at the top in OBP% across the nation. Something like 49 HBP in 15 games is wild. Problem is, we don't get them over and in. Everyone playing in college should be able to sac bunt. It's part of practice, BP, cage work. Polla...

Angel steps down as WBB coach

Due to personal reasons, so it says. Hope everything is OK.

One of the nicest coaches at App State and a good person.

Re: NIT

More I think about it, what do we have to lose by clinging on to the 5% chance of making the NCAA Tournament? It's not like we're thumping our chests about our metrics, so it's not embarrassing.

Re: TIGMA NIL

I know this is more of a terrible coincidence than anything, but after the most painful basketball loss in a generation, the next App State Athletics thing I see is "open up those wallets App fans!"
