Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
I doubt that they will be able to require classes. Some kid will sue claiming that the school doesn’t require other employees to attend class, so why should an employee hired to play football have to attend class. Once they’re employees, college athletics is truly done. I think college athletics wi...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
The Transfer in thread and new coaches thread are completely blank every day. The transfer out thread has massive talent leaving every day. I'm here for the doomerism. Next season shaping up to be a f*cking bloodbath. It appears players and coaches have no interest in this program anymore. We'll on...

Re: Clark
SC is gonna go down to Florida and live in a nice home, clearing +$500k a year without any of the stress of running a program. Just gets to coach what he knows and loves. Happy for him.

Re: N Texas
Ultimately, doesn’t really matter what our out of conference record is because no one from Sun Belt is getting an at large. You want to see them get better and compete in conference to have a chance to win tournament. They seem to be getting better. Still have the long stretches of no baskets. Hell...

Re: Dowell Loggains
All I needed to hear:
“We should have been playing this last weekend.”
Dead. On. I don’t care how tough the Sun Belt got. Hoping to be competitive in the division or getting in the championship on a technicality ain’t it.

You know I’m coming around to Coach Loggains.subwayjimmy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 3:08 pmThe man's name is literally "DO WELL". How can we lose? Every opponent is on the highway to the danger zone if you ask me.
Tonight I’m gonna cut loose, footloose even. Possibly kick off my Sunday shoes.

Re: Dowell Loggains
Also, not to nitpick here, but something that really bothers me is that whoever designed this didn't even edit the USC stadium out of Loggains' glasses. You can still see the burgundy/red endzone and everything. I've worked in marketing for nearly a decade now and these sorts of things, the lack of...

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
The more I read the WVU boards the less I would want Brown at all. Stating thay he couldn't put together a solid staff, would only hire his own cronies, wouldn't change strategies to make things work, couldn't recruit, the list goes on and on. I guess we will just see. If DG hires him I will always...

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
For me it comes down to his stint at Troy. He took a team at our level that hadn't had a winning season in 5 years. Had 1 rebuild year then won 10+ games 3 straight seasons. Also won 3 straight bowls in the Sun Belt and has a 5-1 all time bowl record, which tells me, when he has time to plan he can...

Re: Biff Is Gone
I know we are all focused on our own search now, but the Charlotte search appears to be a mess. In the last day alone there have been three public declines from: Neal Brown Tony Gibson Bobby Petrino The declines are embarrassing enough but the leaks are even worse. Almost feel bad for their fans. Wh...

Re: Pete Thamel- App State Fires Shawn Clark
I gotta be honest I didn’t think he was getting the job done. But I can’t celebrate him getting fired. I appreciate the job he did. It’s an understatement to say he had to endure some external challenges and he always did it with class. It’s the right choice but consider me worried more than anythin...

https://x.com/groupoffiveguys/status/1863375368054272190?s=46&t=UfUtPHfzYe5R3hJ5cku44g Sad. From projected to be a Top 3 G5 team to not even finishing in the top 25 G5 teams. We finished in the bottom half of the Sun Belt (tied for 9th), we are no where near the G5 top 25. Alternatively ESPN FPI ha...

Re: Onto the Next
He won three of the last five. Seriously, this is what we signed on for when he was hired. I didn't expect basically two loosing seasons in five. But seriously, there was never a reason to expect much when he was hired. Being an App guy is not a qualification, its a plus, but its not a qualificatio...

I’m probably in the minority here but I’m okay with us being aggressive there. Had we punched it in we would have taken heaps of momentum into the 2nd half. Didn’t work out but I can live with going for it.

Re: I feel..... ?
I’ve gone from anger to not caring. It’s not worth getting worked up over this crap show. Especially if wholesale changes aren’t made. On the bright side, depending on the next 3-4 days, my vacation next year may get a nice cash infusion. Apathy will kill a program. Agree wholeheartedly. 3-4 season...
