Re: New NCAA Transfer Rules....WOW

To those whom may like this new ruling for APP. Realize, this could be used against the Appalachian roster like one and done is to college BB. A player such as Hennigan/Duck could leave after a great freshman season for UNC for higher profile draft hope. This rule change could hurt much more than h...

USA & "Friends" win bid for World Cup 2026

They were awarded the WC 2026 bid yesterday. Today, the questions for USA Soccer and the USMNT are...can they hire a winning GM/Technical Director; hire a winning coach; and build a world-class team in the next five to eight years? https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2018/03/15/18/37/20180315-news-23-c...

Snookered drunk! Busted for driving 34 in a zero zone? That's what he gets for driving on a blinkin' sidewalk! 😒

Re: John Weaver to retire

In addition to everything else Coach Weaver has done for Appalachian, he also served as Yosef Club Director for several years back in the early 80s. IIRC, he also had a hand in athletic ticket management.

Wishing you all the best, John.

Re: 3 new bowl games? Myrte Beach may be one.

Charleston might not be an option with The Citadel reducing their stadium seating to 14,000. Re: Fox extended to 2021

I understand one is a promotion from within the existing staff. Based on that info, Poole would seem to have a clear edge in experience in a couple of power conferences. The announcement should be made soon, as the job ad called for a June 1 start date. They've already lost a week + of readiness (b...

Re: Fox extended to 2021

Zach is just a tad slow for D-1 basketball. Maybe a tad and a half .Good kid though and I hope he does well. As to the extension , it appears the lateness cost us on the recruiting trail , wish it had been done prior to that , if there was to be one . We paid a price but it's done .Now there are no...

Re: Site Running Slow

I have notified Yosef of the problem and he is trying to figure it out. It's really slow for me, also, but my big issue is the "log on" thing. I've had to log on three times just to get this message posted. This has been going on for at least a month. I never try to post anything unless I have an h...

I was at the Durham event today and it was great. The lunch events are more intimate, but shorter due to everyone's lunch schedules. First thing you have to do is stop throwing fuel on the fire to put it out. We are still having pla...

Re: Chancellor Everts Reports on new Diversity PositionF

Woops. Not a position, just a "seminar." We need both in order to keep up with the times. Appalachian has had a full-time CDO (chief diversity officer) for *more than* 20 years. The current officer, Dr. Willie Fleming, is an appointee of our very own Chancellor Everts. It appears that "diversity" w...
