Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Wed. is great with me. The sooner it's done, the sooner the new guy can meet with the team; contact our signees and remaining '19 prospects; assemble his staff; sell a house; buy a house, et al. So little time, so much to do.

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

IF it’s true that Lutz hasn’t interviewed, and IF an announcement will be made by tomorrow, then I highly doubt it will be Lutz. I have no inside info whatsoever about DG's actual shortlist or his ultimate choice, but I don't look for a formal announcement until after that 3 PM BOT Athletics Commit...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

Has a BOT meeting been "noticed"? I believe it requires 48 hours unless it is a regularly scheduled meeting. They have a meeting in the books for 3/28-29 already. That is why the Wed thing is coming up. That being said, I would rather have to call a meeting and get it right than try to get it in on...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

AppState Mania says MBB decision to be finalized no later than Wednesday, if not before. Board of Trustees just happens to be meeting on campus in regular session on Thursday afternoon. Bingo! It is legal for the Board to have a meeting by conference call with proper advance notice (as was the case...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

If it is Lutz this coaching search has been vastly different than the football coaching search. Both are old State assistance coaches. Sarcasm I assume? No I was serious. The football coaching search was one of the most tight-lipped D-1 acquisitions I've ever heard of. Before Drink was announced he...

Re: WBI Rd 2: Marshall @ AppState 6:30 PM, Mon. 3/25, HCC

Good game tonight. The crowd was definitely larger than usual. Pre Stanley really helped put the game away after our lead was cut to as little as 1 pt. in the 3rd or 4th quarter. She had 28 pts - scoring most of those in the second half - as well as 3 steals. Excellent support from... JR Bayley "Do...

Apps 36, Herd 23 at the half.

App's Lainey Gosnell and Herd's Shayna Gore lead all scorers w/10 each.

App's Bayley Plummer trails the entire MU team in rebounds 15 to 20!

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

I haven't given up on a seasoned head coach from a little higher up the NCAA food chain than one of three guys from the Big South. That said, I trust DG. I hope he can lock in his first choice and have the new staff on the road before the Final Four. Since we're stating opinions here, I think it wou...

Re: SB v. GA State

Coach Hoerner has been a Godsend for our previously struggling program. Our team has already won more Sun Belt games this season than they won in three seasons under the former staff. That's speaks well for the coaching leadership and for the buy-in by a lot of young players. The new recruiting "eye...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

If we go Craft I wonder if he could somehow bring Jose Perez with him. He's going to be a hell of a player, well he actually already is. Would love to see the Bronx boy become an early leader of some of Craft's teams in Boone Not easily done w/o stirring up the natives and an NCAA investigation. Th...

Hunter's packing for NO/Tulane should be no issue for Cobb. He's got a direct line to Jason Capel's digs in Pittsburg. Problem solved. Could Cobb be that foolish--twice?

Re: Football team involved in St. Patrick’s Day fight?

My quotation from last week was not appreciated by Boroughneer and others, but it's still true. "It's a stain on the university, the football program and the new coaching staff." The story was in a block, bold-font headline on the front page of today's WSJ . Not in a good way! App scholarship athlet...
