Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

I haven't given up on a seasoned head coach from a little higher up the NCAA food chain than one of three guys from the Big South. That said, I trust DG. I hope he can lock in his first choice and have the new staff on the road before the Final Four. Since we're stating opinions here, I think it wou...

Re: SB v. GA State

Coach Hoerner has been a Godsend for our previously struggling program. Our team has already won more Sun Belt games this season than they won in three seasons under the former staff. That's speaks well for the coaching leadership and for the buy-in by a lot of young players. The new recruiting "eye...

Re: Men's Basketball Coaching Search

If we go Craft I wonder if he could somehow bring Jose Perez with him. He's going to be a hell of a player, well he actually already is. Would love to see the Bronx boy become an early leader of some of Craft's teams in Boone Not easily done w/o stirring up the natives and an NCAA investigation. Th...

Re: Ron Hunter one foot out the door

Hunter's packing for NO/Tulane should be no issue for Cobb. He's got a direct line to Jason Capel's digs in Pittsburg. Problem solved. Could Cobb be that foolish--twice?

Re: Football team involved in St. Patrick’s Day fight?

My quotation from last week was not appreciated by Boroughneer and others, but it's still true. "It's a stain on the university, the football program and the new coaching staff." The story was in a block, bold-font headline on the front page of today's WSJ . Not in a good way! App scholarship athlet...

Re: 2018-2019 Basketball not over yet

Apps lead 32-29 at the half. AVL team is dangerous and leads in most stat categories, but the Apps have the scoreboard so far. Angel has subbed liberally. Should have fresh troops for the war ahead. Tough opponent w/good coach.

Re: Fox fired

Definitely NOT a fan of Buzz Peterson because of where he played in college and the fact that he screwed us over. I will say, however, that we had some of our best years under him. Wonder how much more our program could have grown if he had stayed around for 5 - 10 years. Hopefully we can land a ne...

Re: Football team involved in St. Patrick’s Day fight?

Just bad. It's a stain on the university, the football program and the new coaching staff. Coach Drink had better step up, do a thorough investigation to learn what happened; learn exactly who was involved and to what extent; and then send an unmistakable message that such irresponsible behavior wi...
